This innovative device is engineered to automatically detect SD, HD, and 3G video standards, transmitting a re-clocked signal through its four SDI outputs. The LOG-1864 provides real-time monitoring of signal presence, format, and AFD input and output values, all conveniently indicated on the user-friendly Dashboard program. The AFD data is strategically inserted as vertical ancillary data on video lines 8-21, a feature that can be customized by the user. Control of the unit is made easy with the DashBoard program for the OpenGear frame or via front panel Dip switches. The LOG-1864 uses AFD, a system of codes that communicates to DTV receivers, up/down converters, and other professional video equipment how the video signal should be displayed, especially when the aspect ratio changes. The LOG-1864 is a versatile tool in video production, simplifying workflow and preserving image quality. As video productions transition to storing all material in HD and converting to SD only when necessary for final transmission, this device offers a reliable solution for adding AFD for the implementation of the up/down conversion process. The LOG-1864 features four modes of AFD operation: 'Pass thru', 'Automatic', 'Insert', and 'Delete', and three modes of operation for Video Payload Identifier (VPID): 'Pass thru', 'Automatic', and 'Insert'. Audio and/or ANC data can be set to pass or delete, with settings saved in EPROM for easy configuration. Designed to be compatible with the openGear 10 and 20 card frames, the LOG-1864 works in harmony with cards from various manufacturers, making it a reliable and user-friendly choice for your avionics equipment needs.
