This state-of-the-art device is capable of inserting four channels of data multiplexed into the vertical interval on line 21 of field one, including Caption Channel One, Caption Channel Two, Text Channel One, and Text Channel Two.The PCE-845D goes beyond standard requirements, processing data on Line 21 of field two to comply with revised FCC specifications. Future-proof your operations with this device's ability to insert data on lines 10 through 25, selectable via a single internal jumper for correct line placement.Enjoy the versatility of this encoder, compatible with PAL closed caption systems, typically inserting caption data on Line 22 of field one. The unit operates optimally on line voltage of 115/240VAC, 50/60Hz, internally selected. It accepts composite video, S/VHS, or Y, R-Y, B-Y input signals, with a rear toggle switch for easy transition between composite and S/VHS.The PCE-845D offers one composite closed caption video output and one open caption output, ensuring transparent throughput when a component format is used, thanks to the careful matching of each signal path's delay. An RS-232C Input/output data port is conveniently located on the rear panel, operating from 600 to 4800 baud (jumper selected). A second data port can accommodate an external modem for added flexibility.Monitor the encoder's operation with ease using the front panel's "TEST" switch, which places a test message on line 21 to confirm proper operation. Connect a modem and computer simultaneously to the PCE-845D to receive local and remote caption data. Two front panel LED's indicate operation in field one or field two, while other status indicators confirm the presence of input video and RS-232. Choose by-pass mode from the front panel, by software commands, or via remote control for a transparent and glitch-free video signal.
