With the PDC-888 Closed Caption Decoder, experience high performance decoding for NTSC/PAL systems. This advanced device is proficient in displaying captions for CV, CAV, and Y/C, adhering to the EIA-608 standards. It incorporates the codes outlined by the FCC Report and Order on General Docket No. 91-1 and EIA-608 recommended practices for Captions, Text, and XDS.

The PDC-888 supports nine standard data channels, including Caption channels 1 through 4 (CC1- CC4), Text modes 1 through 4 (T1 through T4), and Extended Data Services (XDS). This wide range of operational modes can be easily selected using the four front panel switches.

Designed for professional use, the PDC-888 accepts RGB or YUV component inputs, all using BNC connectors, except for the S-Video connector. The caption data is seamlessly integrated into all component channels, ensuring a smooth viewing experience.

Housed in LINK's standard 1 RU 800 Series chassis, the PDC-888 offers both durability and reliability. It automatically detects PAL or NTSC, and the AC line voltage can be adjusted between 96 to 245 volts.

The PDC-888 processes Composite video, Component video, and S-Video, with all video inputs including CV, CAV, and Y/C featuring AC power by-pass for uninterrupted operation during power line failures. The Component video is internally terminated, while the S-Video operates at standard levels, utilizing a 4-pin Mini-Din connector for easy operation.

The device also features a complementary differential input amplifier for high common mode rejection, and its phase-linear keyer cleanly inserts decoded characters into the video image. Differential gain and phase are maintained well within 0.1% and 0.1E respectively.
