The R400A receiver is designed to integrate seamlessly with all Lectrosonics 400 Series Digital Hybrid Wireless transmitters, 200 Series and 100 Series analog transmitters, and IFB transmitters. It also works with certain analog transmitters from other manufacturers, thanks to its flexible digital signal processing capabilities.
The SmartTune feature in the R400A receiver automatically scans all available frequencies and tunes the receiver to the one with the lowest RF interference. This simplifies the process of finding clear operating frequencies, especially in RF saturated environments.
The R400A receiver is equipped with a Smart Noise Reduction algorithm, known as SmartNR. This feature works by attenuating only those portions of the audio signal that fit a statistical profile for randomness or 'electronic hiss', effectively removing hiss without sacrificing high-frequency response.
The R400A receiver offers both Balanced (XLR) audio output and Unbalanced (1/4-inch jack) Line Out and Monitor output. Both outputs operate independently and are each controlled by their own digital attenuator, providing flexible audio output options.
The R400A receiver operates in the frequency block of 537.600-563.100MHz, covering a wide range of frequencies suitable for various applications.

A cutting-edge addition to the world of professional audio equipment, the R400A Digital Hybrid Wireless UHF Diversity Receiver, Frequency Block 21 (537.600-563.100MHz) is a high-performance, table-top UHF receiver that seamlessly integrates with all Lectrosonics 400 Series Digital Hybrid Wireless transmitters, 200 Series, 100 Series analog transmitters, and IFB transmitters. It also offers compatibility with certain analog transmitters from other manufacturers, making it a versatile choice for diverse audio setups.
This advanced receiver boasts 256 user-selectable frequencies, ensuring optimal flexibility for various applications. Its proprietary audio processing employs a digital signal processor (DSP) to deliver incredibly low distortion and a superior signal-to-noise ratio. The R400A also features two independent audio outputs, one balanced and one unbalanced, catering to different audio requirements.
The receiver's innovative design includes a menu-driven graphic LCD display, providing a user-friendly interface for viewing and altering settings. The Digital Hybrid Wireless Technology incorporated in this device is a revolutionary design that combines digital audio with an analog FM radio link to provide outstanding audio quality and exemplary, noise-free RF performance.
The R400A also features SmartTune auto frequency selection and SmartDiversity enhanced reception. SmartTune simplifies the process of finding clear operating frequencies, especially in RF saturated environments, by automatically scanning all available frequencies and tuning the receiver to the one with the lowest RF interference. SmartDiversity, on the other hand, uses microprocessor-controlled antenna phase combining to effectively deal with multipath dropouts.
The receiver is equipped with SmartSquelch, a feature that dynamically adjusts squelching behavior under varying conditions, delivering acceptable audio quality from otherwise unusable signals. It also includes SmartNR, a Smart Noise Reduction algorithm that removes hiss without sacrificing high-frequency response.
The R400A is designed with DSP-based Pilot Tone, which uses a DSP generated ultrasonic pilot tone to control the receiver audio muting (squelch), effectively eliminating thumps, pops, and other transients. The receiver also offers independent audio outputs, both Balanced (XLR) audio output and Unbalanced (1/4-inch jack) Line Out and Monitor output, each controlled by their own digital attenuator.
In summary, the R400A Digital Hybrid Wireless UHF Diversity Receiver is a sophisticated, state-of-the-art device that offers high-tech features and exceptional performance, making it a valuable addition to any professional audio setup.
