Nice filter. I am concerned about damaging it though, so we shall see. As anything Lee, it is rather expensive!

Great. At first I was leary of having a filter bigger than the holder. But after using it and adjusting the filter area up and down I was sold. Very cool.

Usual filter use for adjusting exposure of skies in landscape photography.
With the SW150 150x170mm Reverse-Graduated ND 1.2 Filter (4 Stops), you gain unparalleled control over your landscape photography, particularly during the challenging lighting conditions of sunrise and sunset. This innovative filter from LEE has been meticulously designed to manage the intense brightness of the sun when it's just above the horizon, preventing overexposure and maintaining balance in the rest of your frame.
The Reverse ND filter's unique design features a denser center, which gradually transitions to a clear edge, providing a natural, balanced exposure to the sky. This design is particularly effective for capturing stunning seascapes, as it precisely controls exposure at the horizon line, where the brightness of a sunrise or sunset is at its peak.
Handcrafted by skilled technicians at LEE Filters' Andover factory, the Reverse ND filter showcases a level of precision and quality control that sets it apart in the industry. Unlike many similar filters that display a harsh 'stripe' at the horizon line, the LEE Reverse ND filter offers a smoother, more gradual transition between the dyed and clear areas, resulting in a visually pleasing and balanced image.
The SW150 150x170mm Reverse-Graduated ND 1.2 Filter is most effective when used with lenses of 24mm or wider on a full-frame DSLR (or equivalent). For optimal results during sunrises and sunsets, position the filter in the holder so that the densest area aligns with the horizon line where the sun is brightest. The filter's gradual ND transition zone will prevent the sun and sky from burning out, while the clear area maintains a reasonable exposure for foreground and middle ground interest.
