Let me start off by saying that I have not used an ultrawide monitor in 6 years. I made the switch back to standard 16:9 monitors simply due to aspect ratio compatibility. However, the specs of this monitor, and the format made me really curious to try it out. First off, the size and curve is perfect. It is essentially a 32" 16:9 monitor with 6 or so inches of additional screen on each side. The curve is also very immersive, without distorting the screen too much, so straight lines are still straight. The picture quality is absolutely stellar. 5k2k is basically ultrawide 4k, so the resolution is amazing. OLED is of course the best looking display tech on the market hands down, and this new generation gets brighter than ever before, which genuinely does play a large hand in things like HDR content and overall color vibrancy. The refresh rate COULD be better, but I'm not going to complain about about 165hz for two reasons. One, it's still noticeably smoother and more responsive than something like 120hz or 144hz. And two, it does have the dual mode 330hz mode which is genuinely useable, but not fantastic at all in terms of visual fidelity. It's much more smoothness first, eye candy dead last, but its awesome that we have the option to have high refresh rate and high resolution on the same monitor these days with the press of a button. The MAJOR drawback this monitor has is the AI upscaling. It's entirely useless, and I'm really confused why LG put so much time and energy into this tech when it just defies all logic with the market they are going for. Realistically, this monitor is for PC users first, whether it be for productivity or gaming, it doesnt matter. PC first. Which in that case, running 4k for productivity can be quite easy depending on the task, such as coding for example. You don't need much horsepower for that, it's not a seriously difficult task. However, if you're video editing or doing any sort of 3d rendering, that's a diferent story. You'd need a computer with some serious power behind it, and in these cases, the AI upscaling doesn't help at all because it just doesn't even work with these sorts of applications. Not to mention the fact that people who rely on their product for income wouldn't allow something like AI upscaling to get in the way of making the best product they possibly could. And Mac users, forget about it. As far as I'm concerned, this stuff also doesn't work with Mac, so this AI upscaling is completely useless for productivity. Well what about gamers? That's what it's designed for, and I was able to get it to work with SOME games. The issue is that I'm a PC gamer, and I already have a PC good enough to run 4k at 120fps or more. But lets pretend I dont, and I have a complete potato and I bought a $1,800 monitor before upgrading said potato. Then we still already have upscaling that works better than this monitor, and it's called DLSS. DLSS is still a feature that requires a 20 series RTX GPU or better, but that means any GPU made within the last decade has upscaling better than this monitor. When you consider the price bracket of this monitor, it seems likely that the end user likely already has a GPU cable of using DLSS, which again, totally negates the purpose of the AI upscaling. Then you consider console users, and I dont even think 21:9 aspect ratios work on Consoles, so console users would not even consider this monitor for their systems. So it doesn't matter which way you slice it, this AI stuff is completely useless. It gets even worse when you consider the fact that we're paying $1,800 for this montitor. Steep. Incredibly steep when you consider that most of that price comes in with the useless AI garbage. I would gladly pay even $1,500 for this monitor if it had two things: A glossy coating and no AI trash inflating the price. Which is where Alienware comes in with their monitor soon to release with a glossy screen coating, 5k2k resolution, RGB stripe, and no AI trash, bringing the price down to a handsome $1100. $700 cheaper than this monitor. So by that logic, LG is valuing their useless AI tech at $700 here, and I have to disagree with that. I wouldn't pay $5 for it. Other than the Price and the AI stuff being totally worthless, it's a perfect monitor. I will be sending this monitor back simply to get my hands on the Alienware monitor which sounds like it will be a better fit for me personally, but if you can stomach the price, it's perfect. Again, maybe the glossy coating would be a better move, but I'm not one of those guys who thinks matte makes a monitor unuseable. LG easily has the best monitor on the market hands down, and I cannot praise it enough. But I think it's equally important to express my disappointement with the major oversight that keeps this monitor from being otherwise perfect.

Was suppose to get my monitor today from LG but haven't and no update has been given on it. There has been no tracking added so I don't know when it will even ship out. I heard LG makes great products but it's been frustrating getting information from customer service

I've had this monitor for a month now. It has been amazing so far. The peak brightness is exactly what I've been looking for. When I was using LG's last gen WOLED. My main gripe was that the brightness for me was just too dim even at 100% brightness in the OSD and HDR set to maximum through windows. With the 5K2K Tandem OLED. It fixed all my initial issues with the last gen model. Ultrawide UHD resolution is sharp. Like looking at a 4k screen but with 39' length and the curve is so minimal and unnoticeable. Perfect for viewing. The matte screen for me is a plus. Since I work with a lot of LED lighting everywhere plus theres a big window in the room. 165hz is a nice refresh rate with this monitor too. It doesnt rely on DSC, so you get the full bandwidth of DP2.1. Although you need a GPU that supports DP2.1. The colors and contrast are your typical OLED popiness. The color stand out among whichever scene you're looking at and the dark scenes with black are really immersive. With HDR the dark scenes get even more jaw dropping. Since in small sections of the screen it can boost the brightness up to 1500nits without lossing any detail in the object. (Ex. A single light in dim dark room). For some people you may need to fine tune the monitor to your preferred settings. Once you dial it in to your specifications. You won't regret getting this monitor. As I've been interested in this monitor since it got announced. Before I pulled the trigger and bought it. I messaged LG support about a discount for the monitor in question. The Rep was very happy and sent over a code right away! So those of you who havent made a decision yet. Maybe that might entice you!

Size, brightness, colors and text clarity are really, really good. I returned mine due to HORIZONTAL banding issues. There were lines across the entire screen, visible when the image had a lot of light colors.. light grey, light brown, etc. Also, with white content, there was this almost sparkle effect I noticed.. not sure if this was caused by OLED tech or the matte coating. Just couldn't accept these cons at this price. Pic attached but it doesnt show the extent of the defect.

The monitor is amazing, but two huge issues I have with it is you pay a super high price, and it doesn't even feature a 240 Hz Refresh rate.(The reason for this is due to people maybe not having GPU's that support DisplayPort 2.1, so they went with 165 Hz as it's easier to drive, but if you're buying this you most likely do.) The other thing is that the AI Upscaling only works with 60 Hz it would be an epic monitor if you could go into dual mode while it's at 330 Hz and use the AI upscaling for the image to get that crisp 5k2k resolution.(Maybe a firmware update at some point?) That in itself would make the price worth it. As I see it right now it's an amazing monitor probably the best ultrawide at the moment, but I'd wait for a sale.

Got a preorder after watching Monitors Unboxed review, which finally confirmed it was a good choice (I was upgrading from Dell Alienware 34 Ultrawide). The monitor lives up to the expectations - crisp colors, no font fringing in Win11 and excellent resolution. The only concern worth noting is that to fully enjoy 5k2k is to have a good GPU. I'm running 4090 and it's a stretch, so I need to optimize settings a bit more. No regrets and loving my new toy! P.S. I was worried that the curvature might be too much, but it's actually great and I wasn't expecting I would be enjoing so much!

I come from a pair of 24" 2K IPS monitors and I'm loving the physical size and 5K2K resolution of the 39GX950B-B. Whether I'm consuming media, playing games, editing photos or video, or doing productivity work, I don't feel space constrained - even vertically, which was a sticking point for me with many ultrawides. I love the non-gloss anti-glare coating since it's in a bedroom with lights and windows. Image quality, color reproduction, and contrast are fantastic to my eyes, and I'm loving the HDR effect for my photos. I can't wait to try some games with HDR support as well. I also appreciate the clean physical design of the screen and stand.

I am very pleased with this monitor. My previous monitor was a AW3423DW. The extra pixels, refresh rate, and screen space of this monitor is just wonderful. The only thing I am not so keen on is the AI upscaling. I feel a feature like this should be on a separate monitor thereby lowering the price. The main catch of this ultra wide oled monitor is the 5k2K resolution at 165 hz. You are going to need a 5090, or something close it, to run that resolution natively. Do not be discouraged by the matte panel. HDR videos on youtube show you of what this thing is capable. The matte finish is a plus because I now do not get reflections of my window or lights on this screen, while the colors and blacks make gaming a joy. Just buy it already.

The monitor failed 10 days after I received it, failed again 3 months after LG fixed it, then failed again for the 3rd time a week after the 2nd fix. All 3 times were due to the Cooling Unit not functioning properly. It's unacceptable to have to send the monitor back 3x for the same problem. I expect a lot more from LG in both product quality and how it treats its customers. Other than the cooling problem, the picture quality and the monitor itself was great. Decided to splurge on an expensive OLED monitor for work, but I bought myself a problem instead.

Preordered, received 2 weeks before official release date. I am stunned by the quality of this monitor. I had an 80 dollar monitor off amazon for the past 5 years and it was time for an upgrade. If you are on the fence about this monitor, I implore you to purchase one. The color vibrancy and contrast is beautiful, I was nearly brought to tears watching 4k test videos on youtube. The cost was right for the quality I received I cannot emphasize how amazing this monitor is. It was so easy to set up, nearly a one person job (apart from it being a little heavy but thats a feature not a flaw (: .) I am very happy with my purchase, I will update if anything goes awry but at the current moment I am extremely satisfied with this monitor, the size and curvature are perfect for my setup.

Before this monitor I was using an 11 year old a 34" ips 60hz ultrawide, and the difference is insane. I preordered this one and I got it about a week ago, and I'm loving every bit of it. The 39" size and the 1500r curve is prefect with this monitor, it still gives you that high pixel density while fully immersing you in your games or work. The blacks are nice and inky and the colors really pop. The dual mode is great for competitive games, and the brightness really stood out to my, I was worried that is wasn't going to be super bright as I didn't know the nits of my last monitor, but it really surprised me. It's actually so bight I have to turn it down. This truly is the best monitor I've used or seen.

I was a big fan of the 45" 5K OLED but having a screen that large so close up caused motion sickness in some fast paced FPS games. This new 39" 5K monitor is perfect! The vibrant colors, amazing contrast (OLED) and high PPI makes this the best modern gaming monitor on the market in 2026. You have to see it in person to really appreciate how good it really is. Highly recommended.

It's an okay monitor, it's nice however compared to other oled monitors I own with the exact same specs, the lg one does not look as crisp, vibrant, or bright, it's quite a noticeable difference I assume it's because of the matte finish on the screen. The other features are great, the aggressive curve makes it very immrisive and does give a paralax effect and everything else functions as described the display on this one just wasn't much of difference compared to non oleds and the other brands with same specs just look nicer. Especially when alot of other prices are around the same is the lg's "sale price"

I picked this up for during the Black Friday week (50% off MSRP) The GOOD: First impression it's gorgeous and vibrant and bright. I love how it looks so much more alive compared to my LCD monitor. I am a big fan of the matte black, it has absolutely no purple tinting at angles and in light (you see those on QD-OLEDs) The 800R is definitely much nicer on my head and eyes, less travel to look between corners and it just looks so cool. Has LED backlight which is pretty cool but I wish there were more color options to choose from. I like the remote to control the monitor. I absolutely hate having to wiggly around a joystick or some strange buttons on the side of other monitors, this makes so many things painless to do. The BAD: Some ghosty text, most apps and text will be OK if you adjust ClearType on windows but I hardly notice any blur most the time. WebOS is partially not necessary, I dont like how entertainment and other apps run in 16:9 when this is a 21:9 monitor. I wish it would allow cropping or something. However the experience switching between inputs and apps and settings is quite fast. Built-in Speakers are DECENT. They are nothing crazy but they have very good midrange. Overly annoying AI integrations and adaptivity (AI audio, AI brightness, AI Image). Weary of OLED build quality. Some people have been shipped faulty monitors, it's quite hit or miss, I got a good one since it's given me no issues as of now, however I do recommend running Pixel Cleaning almost immediately after setting up to prevent any issues. Delivery took 2 weeks, LG customer service told me it was on backorder, however it delivered on the date given at checkout. Overall I think if you can catch this on a big sale you won't be disappointed!

It has true black color and a fast 240Hz refresh rate. The USB-C video out gives an almost latency-free connection, which was my primary reason for purchasing. The monitor and panel themselves are great. However, WebOS is really useless. It would be better without it. Some cheaper LG monitors have KVM features (software or hardware), so the absence of a KVM feature on a $1,400 monitor is a real shame.
