I do all my own matting and framing, and some for friends. This cutter is the best I've had. I bought it specifically because I can cut full sized matting.

I like this unit. It gives me lots of flexibility in matting choices. I can display my photos in the colors of mats and sizes that look the best to me. It pays for it's self over time by being able to make the mats for much less than buying each one. The cutter is easy to use and after the first one it becomes very easy to use.

I choose this brand as it was the make we had at school. Easy to use, cuts well. The only mistakes are my fault when I measure impropery.

This matter cutter works very well. Adorama had the best price for pickup. I have used it to cut about twelve mats and it only took me about 30 minutes to get to working with it. There is a ruler on the cutter, very useful for cuts that Are the same width all the way around, except that it took a few practice mats and alot of measuring to realize that it was about an eighth of an inch off. That was the only draw back that I found. It came with a few blades, a dvd with tutorial, which you can find at youtube, as well as the straight and angled cutters. All in all I found it to be well worth the money.

Gave it 5 stars even though I had to re-parallel the guide rail right out of the box. Takes 10 minutes & a little patience. Strait cuts a full 40" mat & makes perfect bevel cuts. The inch scale for cutting borders is not accurate but it is easier to use a ruler to get exact measurments since you have to draw guide lines on the back of the mat anyway.
