The unit (40" model) is LARGE and needs a large, solid work area.  Don't underestimate how much space you will need.  The build is solid.  It took some time to get the two blades to the right depth - experienced mat cutters will likely be able to do this more quickly than it took me.  Once that was accomplished, cutting was fairly smooth, with the production stops making the process go fairly quickly.
I recommend using scrap mat board to set the blade deptch and then to practice setting up the various stops.
There were no alignment issues after unboxing.  I suggest getting a long steel ruler and a framing square to assist in checking alignment.
