The GOOD I purchased this for my media center. It fit the room perfectly; placed on the floor right next to a support column which had a builtin ethernet and power outlet. No hassle with ceiling mounting to a suspended ceiling or dealing with bulb replacements. The bad: Stuck with WebOS 3. When I purchased this, all other LG TV's came with WebOS 4 and the expectation was that at least I would get that upgrade especially considering the price. Had to buy a Roku to make it useable.

After only using the projector for 250 hours the projector stopped working. Really disappointing for how much it cost. It has a beautiful picture and loved using it before it stopped working.

I bought this in 2020 and now it broke. When it power up, it beeps 4 times and trow white light. No image and no webOS home. Initially I tried to power up 15-20 times and it came up. Later, It never came up and dead. Useless product.

This is a wonderful piece of hardware. I can't stress how awesome it is to have a projector that's easy to move around, setup, and contains everything you need in one. The magic remote with its pointer similar to a wiimote is a massive improvement over any other TV remote I've used. Literally all you need to do is plug it in. Except LG has stopped updating the software. Its stuck on WebOS 3 which according to LG was released in 2016-17 the latest software updates was in early 2019. It lacks basic apps like HBO, Disney+, and Amazon PRIME. To get those apps you need to purchase another device loose the ability to use the magic remote's pointer abilities and deal with extra cords, ruining a significant portion of what this projector so awesome. Its unconscionable that LG is still selling this projector 4 generations of WebOS behind without having updated the software in over 2.5 years. I will think twice before ever buying any LG product that requires software again.

I've owned this projector for over a year and can not imagine going back to a TV. It's compact, easy to use, and can accommodate any situation. I have used this product at home, on the road and outdoors. I would buy a second one if I could.

This compact size LG HU80KA 4K projector performs great in the Media Room against a 110" screen. Supports HDR compatibility along side a AVR 4/8K receiver. Acceptable lumens output for an affordable compact design 4K unit.

I've looked at and drooled over this projector for years. Even though it came out a few years ago, the 4k picture quality is still top notch. Haven't even needed to buy a screen yet. I wish it were a bit easier to keep my bluetooth headphones connected without the on screen prompt to reconnect popping up every time I leave the room and come back, but it's not a dealbreaker since I imagine most folks would be watching with speakers/surround sound anyhow so everyone can listen. I like that you can use different remotes to control the menus with whatever universal remote software/tech the projector uses. Makes it easy to switch between using a cable box to just using the projector. My biggest gripe would be keeping the projector connected to the cable top box, as I find myself restarting the box and troubleshooting Wifi all too often, but I suspect this has more to do with Comcast equipment issues rather than the projector itself. All in all, I'm definitely happy with my purchase.

If your looking to take your man or woman cave to the next level then you can do no better than this affordable LG 4k projector.. Its picture is quite amazing even close up. Having several projectors over the last 20 years this is by far the best I've had yet.

The sound, first only last for few seconds then last over few minutes now, it's so annoying that can't to watch a movie. I email to the service center, they only asked me left the symptom detail and no one follow up... what should I do ?

After 100 hours use over 2 years, the projector stopped working. LG has not offered any. help or explanation (let alone, apology) and can't even refer me for service. I can not recommend the projector for that reason.

I bought this to upgrade to a native 4k and it was a no-brainer having a laser light source at this price point. I briefly plugged in the unit and tested it with the included mirror and it was super easy to set up and had some unique features to make it very portable. I built a custom 160" screen and ceiling mounted the projector which required it to be moved back about 4 ft more than the previous projector (Epson). The overall picture is great with no motion blur and plenty of brightness (dark basement), colors are pretty accurate and skin tones look natural. The one major issue is the black tones! I've adjusted every possible thing available to help but the blacks are charcoal at best. I would have expected this to be much better with a laser light source but at this price point there must be a trade off. Hopefully future models will address this issue and I will be a returning customer!

ive had a few Epsons and BenQ Projectors and I must say, this LG. is the easiest to use and also has the most features. I just hook my Dish box to it and I can watch 100's of channels, I also have the ability to watch "over the air" channels. LG makes it so easy to hook additional devices to it . Love it , I can't say enough about it , TY!!

This project is perfect in every sense except 3 things: 1. Availability of applications in the app store like Amazon prime, disney+ or apple tv 2. Bluetooth connectivity to headphones 3. Screen sharing over wifi for Apple Macbooks Above issues mostly could have been easily sorted if it had the same software which they have in their OLED TVs.

We bought the product having a lot of questions in mind however after using the projector for approx 2 months we find that this is the best purchase we had made and would definitely recommend this to everyone. My 7 year daughter is enjoying the arching movies on this during the vacation and our holidays are the best one due to this gadget even in this tough pandemic. A superb product I would like LG to advertise this more so that there are a lot koee happy families arround the world:)

Very great quality picture. Note that in a well lit room the picture is not what you expect as that from a TV. Since we watch TV and programs in the evening it’s OK for us.

I bought this Projector a few months back. After reading many reviews on this and other products, I opted for this. The Projector is easy to use and very portable. Find a flat surface, power up the Projector and you’re good to start the party. The picture is very crisp. There are enough connection options to be able to hookup whatever you may have to stream movies/games.

I've had this thing for almost a year now. It's easy to set up. Picture quality is awesome. I've had issues from time to time where the color is distorted when turned on. No idea what the reason is. I checked with customer service but I dont think we've pin pointed the issue. If I reboot the device sometimes it was fix it, sometimes I have to reboot again. Other issue is the mirror and lid. Sometimes it just doesnt feel like it straight and so you get a rhomboid screen instead of a perfect rectangle. I had to learn to just not let it bother me. Size of the device is bigger than I imagined. Other than these issues Im quite pleased

I was looking for good HD quality projector for a while where I would have gone with ordinary bulb style projector. Later I found this in Amazon with good reviews, after researching through the features of this projector i decided to give a try with this one. For a first time user of projector this one worked really good, easy to setup, picture quality is good, decent sound, great WiFi features, magic remote. Picture is very crisp 4K quality in dark room, not too bad in day. One great feature than other projector Is easy to move, horizontal or vertical projection can be made in seconds, moving it to Outdoor use is also easy. I have 2 yrs old kid and no concern with laser light. Will recommend to others.

Pro’s Fantastic Picture Great Portability Easy to Use Negatives LG Menu system is janky Screen randomly goes to static. The only resolution to this is check cabling. It’s not the cabling as I’ve researched and invested in the best. Also I’ve had other projectors use without issue. It may be that I am trying to max picture quality using 4 4 4. That is when it started. So if your not using 4 4 4 it’s fine. Black levels aren’t all that great. HDR is a bit weak and diminishes the picture quality overall in my opinions because the black levels are weak.

I replaced a 5 year old projector because i needed a 4k model to also used as a work station for a cad program where i can see a project full scale. The price is very good for what you get and how well it performs. I am a design engineer and build my own ceiling mount that blends in with the ceiling, but the standard ceiling mount i had works also

We decided to upgrade our projector with the CineBeam projector. Our family has been hosting outdoor movie nights at home and the new projector did not disappoint. We were initially afraid that the size of the projector might cause an issue projecting on the 50, 100 or 200 inch screens; however, the crystal clear picture was amazing. The projector itself was easy to use. There were no complicated instructions or setup. We simply connected the power supply cord, HDMI cord (not included), and popped the batteries into the remote control. Set up was just that easy. Once we powered on the projector we selected the language we wanted to use, connected the projector to my laptop and we were ready for movie night. Since we were outside, we connected a Bluetooth speaker and surround sound to amplify the volume. The use of the projector was as simple as pushing the power button and focus according to your screen size and distance. The projector is compact but it is not limited by it's size. Our picture quality was perfect. Now, there are a couple of things to note: Like most electronics you should read all instructions and purchase all peripherals in advance rather than when you sit down to set up or watch. Also, HDMI cord is not included however there are batteries for the remote control. Also, the projector boasts a builtin battery however you should take the power cord with you as a backup. I would recommend it for your family movie night or business meeting as it is just that versatile. For such a small and compact product it really does pack a punch in terms of viewing quality and ease of use

06/01/2020 Whatever is going on between LG and Amazon should not rise to the level of consumer awareness. I did not suspect that this projector HU80KA would not have Prime Video. It does not, it looks like it will not, and both sides blame the other. I have an LG TV and a 2017 LG projector HF80JA; BOTH have Prime Video. LG needs to know that I can't recommend big screen Movie watching without Prime Video. I don't feel 'loyal' to LG, over this. Amazon needs to know that we now use Fandango for the big screen movie nights, and it will become easier and easier to just use the Fandango Library we are building - - on every TV, and mobile device, not just the LG HU80KA projector.
