It's a licorice stick. . .no it's a magic wand . . no, it's our Stowlite map light. Designed as a compact, temporary task light, plug it in to use and stow it away when you're done.The 2.4-watt incandescent bulb provides the light without a distracting glare. Good things do come in small packages.

Overall, I like this light. It is well constructed. The cigarette lighter plug is of correct dimensions so it fits and hold well in the socket. Many cheaply made stuff these days does not. It should be noted that the lamp is incandescent, not LED. A bit odd. The light is just barely strong enough to serve as a book reading lamp, but would serve well as a "map light" and certainly good as a night light, say, in an RV. The biggest negative: no on/off switch!. You would just have to pop it out of the socket when you're done reading.
