Questions & Answers

BRIAN L : Can this work with a belt pack for mobile field use? if so, where do i find that?DAN M : You could make it work pretty easily. Just stick a v-lock or anton bauer battery in a fanny pack, and run a cable from the battery's p-tap port to the 4-pin power jack located on the back of the light. Here's the one you want: http://www.adorama.com/SXPTCXLR.htmlANDREW R : It runs on the included 120V AC adapter, or an optional camcorder battery sled (Panasonic, Sony or Canon (not included).
Jake L : So this is best mounted on a stand with a 5/8" spud?BRAD N : Yes this mounts to a 5/8 spud. You can also mount to a mafers clamp, suction cup, etc. if it has the 5/8s spudAARON C : This unit will mount to a 5/8 light stand. Especially any older Lowel unit. It has a very good mounting section that is like many of the Lowel branded items. This is however not a main light only a very low powered accent light in use.ANDREW R : That would depend on your intended use. This unit may be mounted on a light stand or spud (5/8") but is also light enough to be hand-held with a pistol grip.
Shopper : Can this be mounted to a hotshoe? Does it have a cordless battery pack?AARON C : Anton Bauer battery adaptor and some others could be had. It will take a range of DC power for use. So it could be adapted, or rather you could get a female cord end and adapt it to an array of power sources. They come with battery sleds for different makers batteries too.BRAD N : To mount to a hot shoe you would need a hot shoe to 5/8's spud adapter. You can purchase a 4pin or D-tap cable to power the light from a cordless 12v power, ie on camera battery or other set-ups. This has been an awesome light for the price range. ANDREW R : Unfortunately no, this unit is too heavy to be reliably mounted on a hotshoe (nor does it come with a shoe mount). Power is via either 120VAC or 240VAC mains (via the included adapter) a battery pack is not included with this item.

Great Run and Gun Light

By PAUL C.

I use this as a fill light to natural lighting. Or a back/hair light. Just what I wanted and expected.

The Lowel Blender LED Fixture (120V) throws an entirely new light on the problems of shooting in mixed-light environments. The Blender makes it possible to fine-tune your lights to match (or contrast with) whatever light you're grappling with. With twin arrays of daylight and tungsten LEDs in one fixture, two simple dials make it possible to dial in the light to exactly the color you choose (from approximately 2800°K to 6000°K).

This tiny unit (1.2 lbs and small enough to hold with a pistol grip) puts out a solid 56W of light and it's dimmable from 100% to 10%. It runs on the included 120V AC adapter, or an optional camcorder battery sled (Panasonic, Sony or Canon). Also included: clear front safety plastic and three different front diffusers.
