I bought this light to use for food photography and i love it so far. It really puts out some great results but i feel like it's a bit pricey for the simplicity of it. The assembly instructions were a bit vague and I felt like I was going to break it while putting it together. Unfortunately, i may have to augment this with another lamp for the desired lighting effects and at this price point, i will probably look into other options. Overall, I'd probably give a 9/10 bc it performs beautifully, I'm just poor lol

The shipping said 7-10 days so I was really shocked when this came to my door the next day! The light was in perfect condition. Works really well for taking food photography when there isn't sunlight.

I've only owned the light for a short time, but so far I've been quite pleased with the results. The only negative is that putting it together was cumbersome.

I have a small baking business and food blog and this light is great for my photography. I typically work at night because I have a day job so I need artificial but good light.

I bought this product as a short term solution for my lighting needs. I do a lot of food photography and was tired of chasing rays of light around my house and being limited as to what time I could do my shoots. The first use, I wasn't that impressed. I was still having to bump up my ISO to 1600 and getting OK results. The next use changed my mind completely. I could shoot at ISO 400 and use 1/200th of a second as my shutter speed. So, they take a little while to warm up and reach their full wattage, but now I love these lights. They make it possible for me to do food photography whenever I want and when working with a client they look more professional than anything I could throw together. It's not the most professional piece of equipment, but for the price it is a great short term solution while you save up your pennies for a lighting kit.

I've had this product for only two weeks, and purchased it for food photography. Until now, I have relied on natural light, which of course is not reliable. This light unit provides good color rendition and slight shadows (good!) but not too big. It has made set-up for the pictures much easier.

I kind of fell into food photography quite suddenly and now shoot for about 6 major cookbooks a year. I am constantly trying to better my photography while streamlining the process, so I thought that this light could make a nice backup for rainy or long days when the sunlight (that I usually use) disappears.Let me first say that my first order for this light arrived broken. The bulbs tested fine in other setups, but the actual lamp would simply not turn on.[...]I ordered a second light to give this thing a chance. Thankfully it works, but it is a little harsher than expected. The diffuser is good, but still a little too close to the bulbs for my taste. While this is clearly meant to be stuck on a table next to what you are shooting, I find that it just isn't that simple. It is best attached to a tripod, just off of the table, otherwise the light is just too harsh. You can see in some of the samples in other reviews on here that the highlights on the dishes are as harsh as I'm saying.I definitely think that this is the perfect light for taking quick shots of items to sell on [@] (where quality isn't THAT important), but it won't be the magic bullet for taking real product or food shots on the cheap. With work, you CAN get good shots with it and I will most likely continue using it... but I will definitely still try to get all of my shots in while the sun is up.Also, let me warn that putting it together was very scary as you think you are going to break the plastic enclosure... you really have to bend the plastic to the point that you are sure it is going to snap, but it held together. I had to look it up online to make sure I wasn't breaking the thing!

It worked well for main lights for photographing food, but I definetly needed accent lights as they are not directional in any way I recommend getting different watt bulbs based on how much power you need also construction a little flimsy

i've used this primarily to take pictures of trading cards and other items for sale on[...] I use both the light and the deflector to get almost 360 light coverage of small objects. Can't beat it for the money!

Nice lighting solution for tabletop work. Very easy to use and quite effective when used right. Despite this, it is weak and is still relatively directional. Reflectors help but getting two is really the best way to go to get the best results. I did receive it with a broken light, so be aware of the risks of having an item like this delivered.

I use this product to shoot food photography for a column I write and it's amazing how much better the photos turn out with these lights. They're a convenient size and easy to use. My only complaint is their stability. They need a better base.

I have two of the tabletop units that I use for food photography on my cooking blog. I have not experimented with using one unit and the white reflector that comes with it. But I have great results with using two units on either side of my subject. I rarely, if ever, need to color correct the photos. This product makes lighting basically foolproof. I love it.

I use this product to photograph my arts and crafts items for sale on the internet, and also for brochures and such. It has literally transformed my photos from tacky snapshots to professional looking photographs. Best investment in months!

I use them mostly to shoot food and products. They work well. The diffused light and the sweep work well with object(s) not larger than 1'x1'x1'. The construction looks really cheap, so it's not a set-up that you want to have around when a client comes visit. It is not useful for anything wet.

This would be great for larger objects, but I photograph jewelry. Often ulta macro and needed to add extra light. This is an inexpensive starting point and great for general medium size objects.

This product works as advertised and creates soft even lighting for small objects. I was disappointed with its construction, which seemed cheap to me for the price. Time will tell how well it holds up.
