Super Unreliable

The battery falls out of the light very easily. I have two batteries for this, both died on me and would not recharge. I cannot figure out whether it is faulty batteries or bad charger. The batteries were $170 a piece and now they are bricks. I can only use the GL-1 plugged into AC wall outlet. Nightmare purchase.

Love this product

This product assisted in making it a lot easier to photograph in certain conditions. It came in very useful when shooting a wedding on a yacht around 7pm and had to take a shot from the send deck of the ship as the couple posed at the bow of the ship. I was able to spot light them from my position using this product while keeping the beautiful evening skies.

Holy ... I love this thing!!!

I tried to avoid purchasing a $700 flashlight and literally tried a bunch of other products! The white balance is spot on tungsten and the zoom is essential if you want a good throw! We started using these more than our studio lights for Wedding formals! This light with a d4 and a great assistant can do wonders! We bought two more after the first week! Can't believe I'm saying this but totally worth the money!

The Lowel GL-1 Power LED is a powerful, handheld, focusable and dimmable, photo-quality tungsten color light. It was designed as an innovative tool for the Wedding/Event and location portrait still photographer. With high ISO cameras allowing them to shoot in lower light locations, the GL-1 puts just the right amount of light exactly where they need it. From up close, or at a distance. Its dimming and focusing versatility also makes it popular with architectural time-lapse light painting photographers.

The Lowel GL-1 Power LED is a battery-powered, focusable and dimmable, photo-quality tungsten color LED light. This means users can control the diameter of the light beam, focusing from a tight spot to a wide flood. The beam is very even, from edge to edge, with no hot spots.

GL-1's dimming ability lets users vary the amount of light output from 5-100%, without any shift in color temperature, to perfectly match the atmosphere of the location. With the integrity of the atmosphere maintained, photographers and videographers can see the exact effect the light has on their shot.
