Prime lenses by Panasonic, Olympus, Sigma, and Sony for compact mirror-less cameras come without hoods. While not as efficient as hoods designed for a specific field of view these provide both shading and protection for the front element. Because they fold back they can be permanently attached without increasing bulk. I am using them on 14, 19, 20, 50 and 60 mm lenses

Purchased for the Sigma 30mm Micro 4/3 lens (orginal version). Fits fine, even fits collapsed inside the Sigma case or a soft stretch lens cover. Placed a UV filter on the lens and the Rubber Lens Hood on the filter. No issues.

Bought this lightweight collapsable lens hood for one of my high end point and shoot cameras. It is light weight and collapsable making it very easy to pack and travel with. Eliminates lens flare on sunny days.

The fact that it is collapsible makes it very compact. Also, the rubber makes it less prone to damage from bumps and drops. Works just like a lens hood should.

Bought as part of set to use on my Olympus Pen E-pl3. Bought the adorama 46mm rubber lens hood to go with adapter. Provides protection from bumps and sun intrusion, easily removed or folded back. Adapter is needed to mount this hood on standard 14-42 pen lens.Adorama step up 37 to 46mm adapter needed to use on Pen. When fully extended mounted on a uv filter the hood will cut into edges of frame, I use the slightly extended condition and have no problems.

Not much to say about this lens hood; it is just a simple screw-on item with an extendable rubber hood that helps minimize lens flare. The main advantage of this type of hood is that the retractable rubber hood makes it more compact than all-metal or all-plastic hoods, which can save room in your camera bag. Be sure to order the size that is appropriate for your lens' internal mounting threads (typically marked somewhere on the lens or on the inside of your lens cap).

Lens hood to block light and prevent lens flare. I like the way it easily pushes back when not in use. Very reasonable also.

I do not think there's a better lens hood for the Panasonic 20/1.7 at any price. This hood perfectly shades the lens while not causing any vignetting whatever. Equally important to me is that it provides physical protection for the lens from possible bumps, etc. Even the styling of the hood's circumference perfectly matches the grooving of the lens focus ring. It's almost as if it were designed expressly for this lens. Shipping from Adorama was lightning fast as usual.

I use this on the pancake 20mm lens Panasonic lens. This hood folds back on itself for storage purposes and you can leave it on the lens and put it in your pocket with no increase in size. When you are ready to use it, pull out on the hood and it unfolds for use. I am going to buy one for some of my other lenses too. Highly recommended.

Good design, lightweight, adjustable. Use it with Panasonic 20mm Pancake lens mounted on Olympus PEN EP1.

Lens hoods guard against uncontrolled, stray light and unwanted reflections which result in reduced contrast and possible "ghost Images". In general, the use of a lens hood is recommended because better contrast improves the appearance of the photograph. This accessory also offers protection for the front lens element against rain and mechanical damage.
Rubber Lens Hood are made out of a high quality matte black rubber. It folds down and protects against contrast - reducing, uncontrolled, stray light.
