Great Lens Hood!

I bought this hood to replace a broken one for my 55-200mm VR. This hood does what its meant to do and work perfectly. Its great for the price. My only gripe with this hood is that you cannot flip it around on the lens for easy storage in the camera bag. But its not really a big deal. Buy this! =]

Plastic junk

Knock the camera, the hood snaps off. Fortunatley. it's plastic. No damage to the lens threads. twist it on your lens it until it's tight and it is off center. use it like that and in causes dakening on some edges of your photo. Losen it up to the correct postion, it works ok until it snaps off. Garbage.

A good product for the price.

This product really works to help control the ambient light and prevent unwanted lens flare. I almost always keep it on my camera, and would highly recommend it.

Fair but nothing more

This lens hood is all plastic. The thread is in plastic too end the feeling is that if you screw it a bit too tight you risk to brake it. The cost is cheap enough for the risk to be taken but do not expect the same performance for what concerns resistance, quality of assembly and disassembly of a metal one. You get what you pay for. With a bit of care can be an useful add to your photo bag. I would have liked to have the thread of the objective reproduced in the front so to be able to put the cap on.

Does the job!!

This lens hood does the job, as long as you don't try to use it when shooting wide angle, such as at 18mm,due to it being visable. The quality of the hood is satisfactory - attaches without any problems, stays on the lens when bumped, and is not going to break unless you really give it a hit.

Works for most lenses

The product does its job but will not work with non-helical focusing mechanisms becuz the frontal lens element rotates the hood...Duh Otherwise...Good product for cheap.
