Perfect fit to Canon lense and not cheaply made. I rely on lens hood to protect front lense element and do not use other protective filters which could compromise resolution (other than special effects).

Adorama offers a good lens hood at a great price! The product is well made, sturdy and fits well. It could be slightly snugger in fit but within expected tolerances, and holds up well to bumping and dragging.

It is a hood and it does the job. Not much more to it.

Getting the hood on my lens the first time tooks some fanagling and everytime after that. At first I thought they sent the wrong size. I looked online on other sites and at my local camera shop and the EW-78D is the correct hood. The guy at my local camera shop never got it to stay on my lens. Just wandering if the Canon hood is easier to attach. But It's on and will probably stay there through the summer.

This lens hood is as described for the most part. It's and inexpensive alternative to the Canon brand. The only thing that I was expecting and didn't get was that it is a little too thin in construction. The jury is out for durability. Handling this lens hood on a daily basis will tell the story.

This is a good alternative to the Canon hood--at a lower price. It seems to fit the lens correctly and appears to be as strong as the Canon hoods I have with other lenses.

One prior comment said interior of lense shade was not matt flocked, but I received this with flocking. Excellent buy

Any good lens should have impact protection and this product is great at that.

I've been dissapointed by cheap hoods before but not by this one. The fit is perfect, it's solid and appears to be every bit as durable as the Canon. It's not identical, however. The Canon is flocked (it's like suede) on the inside while the Adorama version is flat plastic. At the price, I am super pleased.

Worked fine for me-I will dull the inside to cut sheen though.

One of the most important accessories for each lens you own. A lens hood provides multiple functions: it shades the lens from stray light, improving your contrast and image quality; in inclement weather, it can assist in keeping moisture or wind-blown debris off the lens; and it protects the front barrel from the inevitable impacts against walls, door frames, and other real-life obstacles.
