It's compact and very functional, I prefer this to the rigid type of hood.

This works as well as the original Minolta brand.

Just needed a lens shade for my "old" Minolta Maxxum AF lens. This works as well as the original Minolta brand.

Works great on Nikon 18-200 Zoom

Works well and is well made. Rubber hood provides some degree of protection from bumps when working in crowded venue. Hood does not change the way the lense cover fits.

Usless for permanant mounting

I have been purchasing rubber lens hoods for my lens for ten years. This is the first rubber hood I have seen without front threads for mounting a lens cap or filters. I guess you could put filters behind it, but I always install a lens cap anytime I am not actually shooting pictures; to keep off finger prints, some dirt, and to protect the front element as much as possible.
