Questions & Answers

SCOTT P : Screen turns black for a few seconds then starts again. I am connected using HDMI. Is there a setting I need to change to prevent this?RICHARD G : Never had this problem. Assuming you r connections are secure, the problem is likely with your computer,s video output. Do you have Apple care?.TOM S : Personally, myself and 15+ others in my office use these with MacbookPro laptops leveraging the Thunderbolt display option and have had nothing but wonderful experiences. I cannot speak to the HDMI issue, however if the few seconds of Black is at time of connection or disconnection, it is likely more of a video-card, display issue with your source (computer or otherwise). My first recommendation would be to try a different source (blu-ray player through HDMI) and see if problem persists. If so, you've narrowed down to the display or the cable/connection -- check that or swap cable to test. If the black doesn't happen on another source, you've narrowed to the source. Then I would hunt on the source with few black seconds to see if there are display options. I realize this is not definitive, but hopefully it helps guide you to a solution. All in all, we have not experienced the problem you speak of.SHESUM Y : this is not normal call LGGREGORY D : I've experienced this as well. Haven't found any settings to correct this however I leave the monitor on 24/7 and think it does this as an auto reset.ENABLE-IT S : Yes I have 3 of these monitors. The issue your describing happens to one of my LG monitors after turning on or back from sleep after 10 min of operation. The only solution is to unplug the video cable and reset it or change the Menu PBP to ON and then back off again. It is a hardware defect and I would have ADORAMA replace it. I open a ticket with LG and posted it on thier website - they took my posting down, told me it was not true - even though my post had pictures and video of the issue. My opinion - Just another profit driven Korean BS company ripping off people anywhere on the planet.
Shopper : What is the difference between LG 34UM94-P 34 and LG 34UM95-P 34 monitor ?JEFFREY D : there basically booth the same i think the only difference is the amount of usb portsYEN-JUN C : The UM94 is considered the "commercial" version of the UM95 and comes with a 3-year warranty. And the UM94 launched several months later than the UM95.
Alexandra S : Can this monitor be flipped 90 degrees and used in portrait mode?CLIF B : Yes, it can be rotated vertically to use in portrait mode.JAMES L. G : Unfortunately, according to the quick start guide and owners manual there is no reference to using the LG34um95 in the portrait mode. This is a question that may be more suited for the LG customer service support group.SUMMEE U : Not with the supplied stand, however a third party one would likely work if your video card supports it. I think placing this vertically would be a bit unusual given how wide it is, it's quite spectacular.JEFFREY O : Portrait mode works great with MacBook Pro 15"w/Nvidia card & Yosemite OS over Thunderbolt 2 using an Apple cable. Need to use the VESA mount setup with an arm or wall bracket of course... Portrait didn't work on Macbook Air 11" over Thunderbolt (only 50Hz available on the MBA), but still worked in landscape surprisingly.TOM S : Yes it can. I am using a Macbook Pro and I switched only the LG 34" monitor 90-degrees (System Prefs / Displays) and it looks awesome and responds as expected. The mount included with the monitor is not tall enough to support the portrait orientation, so an additional VESA compliant mount would be required to secure the monitor in that orientation.EDWARD D : The bundled stand does not support this, but as long as you purchase a stand that can accommodate the added height of the monitor, and your operating system supports it (I tested it on win 8.1 and it seemed to work) you should be fine.DAVID D : Yes, but not with the included stand. You will need to use a VESA mount to achieve portrait mode.PAUL H : Sorry, no this monitor does not natively support portrait mode. The built in stand is fixed to one position.RICHARD G : i never tried -- but it isn't built that way. you would have to put it on a rotary VEGA mount and your computer's software would have to know what to do.GREGORY D : Although I haven't used it in this way I believe it can be. You would have to change that setting on your computer. However you would need a different mount for it.JEFFREY D : you can sub divide but not flip 90

Phenomenal Monitor

I've been using triple monitors for the past nine years, but the bezels always annoyed me. Now, I can rearrange my preferred layouts of the programs like Maya, Modo, Nuke and Houdini to fit on one monitor. Displaying two programs side by side, without a bezel, is a new exhilarating experience for me too. Phenomenal monitor to increase my productivity.

Excellent monitor for Macbook Pro

I used to use a 27" Apple Thunderbolt display and bought this for two reasons: 1. Wanted more real estate 2. Wanter to reduce the glare since I sit in a sometimes window lit area. I am losing the built in macbook charger and ethernet ports but I bought the thunderbolt ethernet adapter to solve the second issue. I used my Spyder 3 to calibrate the display and I have to say it's really nice. I wish the volume could be controlled via the mac keyboard but that is my only real complaint.

I love this monitor.

** Disclaimer - I've had this for just a few days ** Setup: Mid-2012 MBP Retina I used the HDMI cord to connect this to my MBP Retina. Everything worked great with the exception of the speed webpages were rendering (really really slow and I couldn't actively use a webpage if another one was trying to render). Which I thought was odd I searched some forums and saw a setup like mine w/ the exception that that user was using the Thunderbolt cable instead of the HDMI cable. Got it last night - no more slow web pages. That being the fix is odd to me and when I explained my issue to a few Apple Store floor reps they didn't expect the Thunderbolt to fix the issue. Happy it did. Love this monitor - no matter what apple comes out with (or if they come out with something) in June this is a great buy.

Its pixel area is about 1.8 times larger than an UltraWide Full HD 21:9 monitor and about 2.4 times larger than a Full HD 16:9 monitor. It provides an efficient environment in using Microsoft Office programs showing 47 columns and 63 rows in excel.

sRGB 99%
sRGB is the standard color space of ideal color reproduction. So, with over 99% coverage of the sRGB spectrum, this LG monitor is a great solution for professional photographers, graphic designers or anyone looking for highly accurate color.

Mac Compatible
Graphic designers will surely appreciate the many features of LG's Mac-compatible UltraWide monitor. The 21:9 widescreen and 4-Screen Split will simplify working with multiple graphics windows.

Screen Splitter
Multitasking doesn't have to mean shuffling back and forth between windows. With a single click, the 4-Screen Split feature divides the screen into as many as four customizable segments, two-by-two. Now you can see four different windows at the same time.

Dual Link Up
The Dual Linkup feature allows two compatible portable devices--such as a computer, camera, phone, or Blu-ray player--to be connected to the monitor and both can be viewed on the same screen simultaneously.
