Questions & Answers

Shopper : Will these work on 2013 models of LG tv like the LA6200 models?MICHAEL W : Compatible TONET G : This works for any passive 3d tv models.BRIAN K : These will work on all passive 3D televisions. They also work at theaters and I bring them whenever I see a 3D movie at the theater.MICHAEL J : Yes, they will work on any passive 3D tv. Passive meaning it uses the which glasses are polarized and have no battery to recharge, exact same as theater lenses. Seems that's the only kind made anymore. I've worn these to the theater over my glasses too. Works great. What's more on the LA6200 models, you can get "Dual Play" glasses. It's like matching up two left lenses in one pair of glasses, and two right lenses in the other. This way you can play multi player games, and both of you can see a complete different full screen picture from the same screen.JIM C : The clip on 3D glasses from LG will work on any 'passive' LG TV, or any other brand passive TV for that matter. They will also work just fine at your local movie theater which also uses the passive technology. They will not work on TVs that use active shutter technology.
Steven C. D : Are these clip ons compatible with the LG 42lw5300 model television?TIMOTHY E : Yes Steven, they are compatible. Home 3D theater comes in 2 formats. Active and passive. An active 3D system requires the use of expensive, heavy, powered glasses, which sync to your TV. The screen displays alternating images, left eye - right eye- left eye- right eye, while the lenses of the active glasses act as shutters, actually preventing one eye and then the other, from seeing what is intended for the opposite eye. (and you hope the batteries don't die, and the sync is accurate, or it will be unwatchable) The model TV you are asking in reference to, is a passive 3D system, like my LG 55LW6500. The glasses are polarized, and allow your eyes to each view the material intended for it, left and right, simultaneously. No batteries, no sync issues, and much less expensive. They can also be used with any other passive 3D (home) system. I use my clip-ons regularly, and they're great. (they don't work at the theater, though). Now, a final thought, for your personal edification. A gentle but firm nudge from the nest of dependency. I already had the knowledge about 3D, but I researched the compatibility issue with the brief help of Google, and looking up that model on the LG website. I always encourage people to learn to do their own research whenever possible, as there are any number of people passing on bad info, unsubstantiated opinions, and uneducated wild guesses, as if they were factual and correct. I have seen many review posts, and answered questions, (even here), from people who have never owned, nor had ANY personal experience with the devices in question. Someone who is new to a technology, doesn't need to deal with that misleading junk, when all you want is to learn something and get a straight answer. I hope this encourages you to explore the tech info that is available online. Happy searching, and happy viewing! I hope you enjoy those clip ons as much as I have. Tim E.THOMAS C : Yes, the LG AG-F220 Cinema 3D Glasses are compatible with the LG 42lw5300 model television.DAREL M : I don't know.DON H : The clip on glasses work great.. I prefer them over the full glasses that came with the TVVERN P : yes they are I have a 5300 47 inchJOHN P : they work fine for me.MICHAEL W : These glasses are an exact match !WILLIAM H : Yes. They are the same polarized lenses, but made as clip-ons which is much more comfortable than trying to put the glasses that come with the system over your own glasses. My wife and I have even taken them to theaters to watch 3D movies there.JULIAN H : Bought for Vizio 65 in.But, should work on LG with this type of 3D.They also work at theaters.DON B : My TV is an LG LW5600 and the glasses work fine.
Shopper : Would this LG clip-on 3D glasses work in movie theater that show 3D movies? Or does it use a different format/technology and won't work in theaters? Thanks. Tom.TIMOTHY E : Tom; I just did a practical experiment with these clip on glasses. There are 3 types of 3D technology used in theaters. Dolby, RealD, and IMAX. These 3 have several differences. IMAX is known for it's images appearing to come out in front of the screen, sometimes seeming to come right up to your face. RealD images are more pronounced behind the screen, creating exceptional depth. Dolby is somewhere between them, combining both effects, and having the advantage of better color reproduction. IMAX uses a different type of polarization than the other 2, linear instead of circular, which means the glasses cannot interchange between them. IMAX is a very advanced system, with a new digital element recently added, that is very proprietary,(ie. it requires very specific equipment that does not work with any other system). The glasses used for IMAX are very bulky, and too much head movement can seriously distort the 3D image, but WOW, what an image. Last week I took my LG clip ons to the IMAX theater to watch 'The Avengers'. The image was very clear, full HD, but not 3D. I have not tried them in a RealD or Dolby theater yet, but my educated guess is that these might work for RealD, because that system has the least proprietary technology. I also have a pair of RealD theater glasses at home, and they work perfectly with my LG 3D system, so they seem to be interchangeable. Other research I have done seems to support this theory also. Dolby glasses are multi-coated to allow for better color reproduction, so these clip-ons might work, but probably won't work nearly as well as glasses made for Dolby theaters. Ultimately, although not what some of us would prefer, you will have a much better viewing experience at the theaters if you just use the glasses they provide, with the possible exception of RealD 3D theaters. Hopefully I will have a chance to try them with both of these other systems, and I will be sure to update this message when I do. I hope this helps. TimMARTIN D : I am 95% sure that this will work in theaters, as that is what I've been lead to believe and I have read that you can use glasses from the theater with your Cinema 3D TV. I believe this is also why LG refers to the technology as Cinema 3D, because it is based on the same technology that can be found at your local 3D cinema. However, I haven't personally used them in a theater yet. I'll be 100% sure after this weekend, so I'll have to get back to you.MICHAEL J : These lenses will work in a theater. They are polarized just like the theater glasses. I have used these and the polarized theater glasses they let you keep from the Harry Potter movie on my tv set. Great quality for far less than buying another cheap pair of oem glasses from the tv manufacturer. Also, they work excellent with my XL frame glasses, so they should be great on any other pair too. I recomend them.JAY W : I have these 3d clip ons and they work great at home, they should work in the movie theater since the movie theater ones work on my lg tv at home..VERN P : I really don't know but I see no reason why they wouldn't. I never thought to take them with me the last time I went to the theater.MARIO E : Yes. These work just great. MARK B : They will work in theaters that that show the film in Real D 3D formatAGUSTIN R : That is a good Question, I just went to the movies and saw the avanger , but they gave me a pair at the theater, in my humble opinion they would would work just fine.HERB S : To my knowledge it will work in a theatre as well as a passive 3D television which is what I use it for. Amazing!!!!!!!

I had read some reviews on these and was a little skeptical about buying them. I am so glad I took the chance! Great quality, and they work amazingly! As a glasses wearer, trying to wear two pairs of glasses at the same time was highly inconvenient. Whoever invented these glasses have my complete thanks.

Works great

I really like these flip down 3D-glasses. They work great. I have worn glasses since I was a kid and now when I watch a 3D movie I don't have to worry about not having the 3D glasses to fit over my regular glasses.

Better than standard

Home 3D movies are great on my LG55inch tv. It came with large cover over glasses but these work better on my glasses and can flip up if I need to get something or setting up movie before 3D kicks in

Excellent option for us Rx Glasses Consumers

My LG AG-F200 Clip-on comes from the LG Family Pack (Free w/my LG 55LW5600 purchase @ Amazon) and since I wear Rx Glasses 85% of the time, I used the Clip-on glasses to watch my 3D Movies like Avatar, Captain America, Puss-n-Boots, Transformers, etc. and they work great! Clip-on Mechanism: The LG clip-on mechanism bracket is well designed, using metal on the spring stress points, thumb plate supports and rubber tipped clip bars. Supporting all the metal parts though is a plastic foundation. Operating the mechanism feels solid, the rubber tipped clip bars protects my Rx glass lenses and securely holds them in place nicely. Lenses: The actual LG 3D Clip-on Lenses are smaller & slightly curved to fit my Rx glasses (just got my new Bulova metal frame Rx glasses & the lenses shape is identical) vs. for example, the "3D Glasses - CinePro(TM) Circular Polarized Clip-On" lenses, (extra set I bought from Amazon) which is larger & has straight lenses. Both clip-on units works great for 3D but the larger CinePro(TM) allows a little more reflection due to the straight shape. Finally, the LG 3D Clip-on Lenses will flip-up, which is a typical design for the regular Rx Glasses - Clip-on sunglasses. I highly recommend the LG 3D Clip-on Glasses for their quality fit and function. I got two in the LG Family Pack & each Clip-on Glasses came packaged in a plastic bag, with a treated lens cleaning cloth and LG pull-string LG storage pouch.

Pretty good

I have glasses so 3D glasses always were bad. When I got my TV, I loved the fact it was Passive 3D, and got 2 pair of these for free when I bought the TV. They felt a little cheap, but very light. They flip up which was a welcome feature. One did break however. The plastic holding the clamp just broke off. Luckily we got it replaced since it was less than 24 hours old. The new ones have been great, I think it was just a bad pair. They are just as good as using the normal glasses with contacts! (although they do look silly on some frames)
