Since You Tube Changed their format, you cannot watch you tube on this device. They need to either send a software update or alert potential customers that this Blu Ray is obsolete.

Though this product isn't the top of the line (as far as price, it functions just like one that costs more. It is easy to navigate through and has a nice sleek design.

In order of increasing importance: 1. Competing devices have more content options. This only has Netflix, YouTube, and 2 worthless options. 2. It cannot do wifi, despite having a USB slot. 3. There has been no firmware/software update since we've owned it, ~1 year. 4. That's extremely unfortunate for us, since it has developed a vexing issue: if one changes disc chapters, a giant black box suddenly "covers" most of the picture. Only around the slim edges can you see the movie. Changing picture options doesn't fix this. Unlocking the parental options doesn't fix this. The only way to get the giant box to go away is to reboot. Boot time is significant, so this is a hassle. This happens EVERY time you try to change chapters, and in certain other operations, too, I believe.

Easy to set up and use, Very good video and audio, easy connections to tv set. Fast loading time and easy functional remote control. One desired feature is a back-lit remote for night time use. Not used for streaming video so no comment.

This Blu-ray player is the fastest I've seen, from power on and startup to the drawer opening. The pictures it produces on my 42LH30 are amazing. I love being able to access Netflix and YouTube videos and you can also play other movies, music and pictures from a USB device when connected to its convenient USB port on front. I have the player connected to my home network and am impressed with LG's continued support with patches and software upgrades.

The Good I've had mine for about a year. I love it. The wireless is very easy to setup and so is accessing files on my computer. Netflix, hulu and other streaming services work perfectly. Blue-ray playback could be a little faster. Some Blue-Ray movies will require you to insert a USB flash drive but once that is done it runs pretty fast. DVD playback is up-scaled and it is great. There are frequent updates. The Bad: sometimes it takes me a couple reboots to get it to respond right and find my computer (not very often). Wish List: I wish it could decode ISO (DVD images). I wish the remote had a keyboard.

> I was tired of troublesome software Blu-ray players that I had been using with my PC. First, software-player updates were provided only for a limited time, about two or three years I think. After that, newly released Blu-rays that required updates could not be watched. Not unless I bought the software’s upgrade version, which was not cheap. Second, even after I bought the upgrade version, it was buggy. > So I began looking for another way to watch Blu-rays. > LG came to my rescue with its BD630. It was inexpensive, about the same price I paid for the upgrade version of one of my two software players. It is about 18” long, but less than 8” wide and 2” thick. I stand my 24” combo HDTV/monitor on top of some books, and on the same books in front of my monitor, there is room for my BD630. My computer keyboard is on the front edge of my desk, in front of my BD630. Because the BD630 is elevated, I can open its tray above my keyboard. > My monitor has two HDMI inputs, one for my PC and one for my BD630. My monitor allows me to switch inputs; so I don’t need to have my PC on while watching Blu-rays. But because I use the same monitor for both my PC and my BD630, and because my BD630 fits neatly on my desk, it is part of my desktop environment. > But the BD630 gives me more than salvation from buggy and expensive software. On the right edge of its front side, there is a USB port that allows me to download firmware updates from the Internet and install them on my player by using my USB flash drive. I updated the BD630’s firmware immediately, and it was a neat and easy process. > A couple of other important qualities of my BD630: 1) It comes with a remote controller, allowing me to stretch out my legs, move away from my desk, and watch Blu-rays without having to use my keyboard. 2) The picture quality from the BD630 is BETTER than what I was getting from either of my software players. (For sound, I use a headphones port on my monitor. It is plenty loud, and it has excellent surround sound.) > I have read of people who have had trouble using the BD630 to stream content from the Web. I can't judge the BD630 in that respect. I don't use it for that; I use it strictly as a player. My PC does a perfectly good job in streaming. (Blu-ray software is not needed for streaming Blu-ray/HD content.) > Also, I have used the BD630 for only a few weeks. So I can't judge its durability. > Regarding the BD630's low price, I admit that was its most attractive attribute, initially. But good reviews and tidy dimensions were also important. And now, having witnessed its picture quality and funtionality with its menu, its USB port, and its remote controller, I really think I could not have gotten a better deal at ANY price.

I now own 4 of these players. 2 for my sons and 2 for me. They are simply the best and are better than the competition for several reasons. They are easy to set up and use, updates (if required) are easy - I downloaded to my USB device, the manual is easy to understand. The proof, however, is the gorgeous picture on my HD TV (I own an LG and a Samsung).

This is my first Blu-ray player but not my first LG product. I always feel confident when purchasing an LG and the BD630 is no exception. I didn't need anything too extravagant, so this was perfect for my needs and the price is right! I love using the USB connection to play my media files. Overall, an excellent product.

I bought an LG tv a while ago, and figured I should also buy a blu ray player if I wanted to experience hd at its best. This player is very easy to install, and very easy to use. The price was also great. So if you are looking for a blu ray player in its most simple and eloquent form, this is the one.

I have a combo home theater/dvd player. I spend way too much time with switching devices around just to watch a DVD. I have been looking at Blue Ray devices for a while now. The price is right and the the multiple uses of this product are excellent. I plugged my network into it and it to my HD TV with a HDMI cord and I enjoy DVD's and Netflix out of one device. I can't wait to buy my first BlueRay. LG products have always meant quality to me. Keep up the Awesome Work.

I love LG I have purchased 2 BD players and burners for my computer. I have also purchased 2 BD players for my home the 390 and 630 and have also purchased a 32 inch LCD and a 37 inch LCD. I have found that for performance and quality LG can't be beat. They all are very easy to use and all work great. I have had the burners for about 2 years and one TV and BD player for about one year and just purchased another TV and BD player within the last week. I would recommend LG to anybody who wants quality, ease of use and reliable performance.

I am becoming more and more a fan of LG products. I bought this based on reviews and the brand name. It does everything I need. I don't download movies so I have no interest in that aspect of the player. The picture quality is the most important part for me. It does not disappoint. It even greatly improves older DVD's. When it comes time to replace, I'll get another LG. A multiple DVD carosel would make this about perfect. I gues that will be a future model.

I bought this mainly for Netflix & YouTube, but I was thinking it would work for facebook as well....no such luck. Despite that it's a great device, but the search features are less than desirable. Typing in the onscreen virtual keyboard is extremely tedious, and the Netflix app doesn't allow you to search at all. My workaround is to add to my queue from my desktop or tablet. Overall it's great for the price and for my needs, and I would recommend it to friend/family.

Can't Beat BD 630 LG Blu Ray player
By Cardinal B.
I reviewed and compared many Blu Ray Players and chose LG to be compatible to my LG 42" HD TV. I only purchased a blu ray player to do one thing- to play Blu Ray movies. Last night wife and I watched "The King's Speech" which was a good movie- Blu Ray made it a great movie. The setup is easy for a senior like me- connected it up and was running in 15 minutes.
Excellent easy to use product

This came as bonus package with LCD/LED TV -LV5500 purchased for parents' 60 anniversary package. They did not want it. I took it and was pleased with ease of set up and use with my outdated analog TV and Onkyo AV receiver. Streamed Netflix TV show on the first try. Can't wait to purchase LV550 LCD/LED similar to parents which had outstanding picture after I set it up for my parents. The BD630 will rock paired with that TV.
The LG Electronics BD630 Blu-ray Disc Player is a multi-tasking disc player that offers full HD 1080p playback and Wi-Fi readiness so you can take advantage of online streaming. Blu-ray discs are encoded in 1080p resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels) and offer incredibly crisp, clear visual imagery. With the BD630 you can fully experience your favorite Blu-ray discs with this high resolution. Since it upscales your standard DVDs to near-HD quality, you'll even experience a whole new level of clarity from your DVD collection.
This player can be connected to your home internet connection if you purchase the required adapter and then the fun begins. Once you're connected, you can take advantage of online streaming of content from services like Netflix (with a subscription), VUDU, CinemaNow and YouTube for additional entertainment. Support for BD Live 2.0 lets you take advantage of online extras like interactive games, quizzes and movie previews that you can download and view. BONUSVIEW allows for a convenient picture-in-picture functionality.
The BD630 has built-in decoding for advanced Dolby and DTS audio formats that will allow for a wider, more immersive surround sound experience when you're watching movies. It also offers 1080i HD component video output for HD-capable televisions without an HDMI interface. With an understated black finish, connectivity to multiple A/V components and playback capabilities for several video and audio formats, the BD630 gives you an excellent mix of high quality audio and video processing and access to a slew of online entertainment options.
