Every time I play a DVD, I get this annoying flashing globe icon. I am not using this for any online applications and have not set this up for online operation and have no desire to. The globe just starting appearing.

I have had 4 DVD players in my life time The BD651D-N Blu-Ray Player with Wireless Connectivity is by far is the best DVD player I have ever owned. The Blu-ray picture is great! The magic motion remote works with both my LG TV 47LV5500 and my LG DVD BD651D-N player LG products can't be beat I would Recommend LG products to everyone

This blu-ray player is awful. The only reason I gave it a 2-star overall rating is because it DOES actually play the DVD's we put in it. My main problem is that it is slow in everything that it does and half the time, it doesn't read that there is a disc in there.

I really like the SimpLink functionality that automatically switches the input on my TV to the Blu-Ray input when the BR unit is turned on. Only downside is that it takes some discs a while to load up. Not sure if this inherent to Blu-Ray or just this unit. Also, I've disabled network access because I don't care for BDlive functionality, and I really wouldn't miss the BDLive nag screen that pops on EVERY BR disc that tries to connect to the internet.

Very easy to setup, connect to the internet via wireless connection, update firmware. Only issues the unit should have had a built in wireless module, plus additional usb port in the rear. The menu option was well laid out qand easy of use.

I couldn't possibly hate this product more if it called me names every time I turned it on. The only redeeming feature of this blueray player is that it's light-weight. >. The remote feels cheap. >.) The player doesn't register input from the remote unless the remote is pointed [directly] at it. >.) The virtual keyboard is cumbersome to navigate, and very slow and erratic in responding. >.) The player only reads discs about half the time, and asks me to choose between DVD and USB sources, even if there's no USB connected. >.) Reading discs takes a very, very long time. Sometimes up to a minute. >.) The OS on the player wouldn't acquire a dynamic IP from the router, and static IP settings would revert to all "0's" after saving/applying them. >.) The Wireless USB dongle worked just fine on my laptop; windows 7 recognized it right away and downloaded drivers without any hassle. So the network settings problem definitely resides with the player itself. >.) Speaking of the Wireless USB adapter, despite it's good functionality, it measures about 2.5 inches long, and looks really stupid sticking out from the front of the player. I wouldn't recommend this product to someone a hate.

The player was easy to connect the television and looks great playing blu ray disks. I have had the player six months have not been able to sucessfully connect to my wireless network for longer than five to ten minutes and when I do connect it does not access netflix or vudu. Only utube and then plays very few of those videos without timing out. As another reviewed said the wireless dongle sticks out of the front and is easily knocked out. The only bonus is I got the player on sale

I did the last update and wireless is no long an option in the menu I think they need more quality control. Locks up on apps like pandora but has been good with netflix other than this it has been a good blu-ray

Everything is very good with this player, however I would like to have more apps available (such as pandora and radio/bee).

A super network blu-ray player extremely easy to connect and operate. It has all the necessary blu-ray functions, loads quite quickly and provides a great movie experience.

This Blu-ray player was a good value and the user interface is nice. The only drawback is that it has only one USB port. I tried 4 different USB hubs so I could connect a flash drive and the wireless dongle at the same time so I could use the BD-Live feature. 2 of the hubs even had power supplies but I could never get the wireless to work when it was connected to a hub. That basically renders the BD-Live feature useless.

Setup was fairly easy. However, I'm extremely disappointed that the wireless adapter sticks out of the FRONT of the unit. This is an absolutely TERRIBLE design. Way too easy to walk by the player and hit the adapter. I was also disappointed to discover that the device does NOT connect to Pandora. I wouldn't recommend this player.

This was a great unit for a good price at Walmart on Black Friday 2011. I am mainly interested in the networked features, not the blu-ray capability. It includes a wireless adapter and has wired network as well, which I was glad to see. It has several network options, but unfortunately, no way to play media files from your home network. I thought UPNP/DLNA would be included on a unit with these network connections. Additionally, the YouTube feature, while allowing me to login to my account, does not give me shortcut access to my channels. Even after searching for channels, I can only see their individual videos, not their playlists. The USB playback is pretty good though, playing all the files my old unit could and then some, and looks better doing it. It also starts up almost instantly, and can rip audio CD's from disc to USB. If your main desire is to play discs and/or files from USB, and to have networked capability, this unit seems ideal. If you actually care about the networked features, less than ideal... at least until a software update (which may or may not ever come).

Just bought this product. Brought it home and hooked it up. Put in a movie and it was amazing. Loved the ease of how easy it was to connect. Would recommend this product. For the price it had so much more to offer than others that were higher. Loved the fact that it had the wireless adapter in it instead of being an extra expense.

With a dongle mounted in the front of your blu-ray player you can stream movies and tv shows. Great selection. Blu-ray quality is great too. Remote and menus are easy to navigate.

this blue ray player is the one you need to buy. i love this player. the picture quality is perfect, you will be amazed. this is what bluray is all about. it also has Netflix, Vudu, and Youtube. the big plus for buying this product is it comes with the wifi adapter. these adapters cost as much to add as this player costs.

This LG BD640 Blue Ray player was on sale and it was also my first ever blue ray player. For the price and the research I've made this one has everything I needed. It's used with an LG 47" LCD TV. Very easy to set up and use. The only things I would've like is for it to have Pandora and NOT to have the wi fi dongle sticking out the front (not good for aesthetics, but for the price is well worth it.

Great DVD player. Up-converts regular DVDs ... and connects to Netflix via WiFi. And it's priced right. What else could you ask for?

The BD640 is a great Bluray player. I have been using this product for almost a year now. Networking - The wireless networking has had no issues with loss of connectivity. Streaming has never cut out (Bluray player is on 2nd floor, wireless router is in the basement). The app we use most is Pandora, works really well. Netflix works without any issues as well. Picture Quality - Every Bluray disc looks phenominal! LG picture quality is, IMO, the best in the industry. Looking forward to purchasing the 55LW9800 when it becomes available. Ease of use - The main menu is very straight forward. Updates take a while to load, and I haven't noticed a difference with these updates. However, the updates are very easy to apply. Complaints - I do wish the load times for the Bluray discs were faster and the updates did not take as long to download/apply. Other than that, no issues!

I hooked this up in my office to a receiver and TV monitor, so I can watch/listen to my Blu-ray movies while working at my desk. The addition of this LG player not only can I play my Blu-ray discs, I can watch Netflix content. The addition of other content services such as Hulu would make this perfect for me.

The BD640 is an excellent addition to anyone's entertainment system, easy to operate, trouble free wireless, and a reasonable price made it beast choice. Quite satisfied with this product and highly recommend it to others. Great feature for slide show on TV with music. YouTube on big screen with out computer it is a plus. I recommended to few friends.
