At first glance, this thin little miracle is about as intimidating as a octogenarian hooked up to an oxygen take threatening violence. Then you hook it up and turn it on...This thing blew the back of my skull off, because I never imagined such a loud punch coming from a unit as about as thick as a stack of magazines! Ni e and easy pairing with TV set, and the dialog while watching a movie or a show was very impressive. A little pricey for.my taste, but hey, I bought it and I have.never looked back.

So , the store it was in had to throw it out and instead I got it off them . Can't complain much for that there but if I anyways opened it up and turned down the subwoofer , all the excess bass was gone. I listen to metal mostly so bass isn't the most important thing there. After calibrating it to metal , it was awesome , great replacement for a tiny 20W system or so but for the price , you can get better options . However , if you do open it hold back the current going to the woofers and increase a bit tinniness by overpowering the resistance , it becomes an audiophile product .

I've never seen this product before from where i'm from. I believe it never entered the Canadian market. Regardless I found a Canadian website selling the LG LAP340 soundplate. I love the fact this soundplate has only 3.4 CM height and that it can fit under the TV. The sound quality is great, but i find the cinema mode overly done in some occasions. The 2 subwoofers inside this system are adequate. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a ultra thin sound solution.

I am a bit disappointed that you can't adjust the audio on this unit. The bass can almost be a bit much sometimes. I also think it would sound better if the unit had more space between the bottom and the tv stand. I think sound gets trapped since the speakers are underneath with little room to expand. Easy set up, great looking

The bass response is incredible. If that's the only audio signal present, but music with treble sounds horribly washed out, compared to speakers which have a more complete audio range.

I love this Sound Plate! I really enjoy that unlike a sound bar, with this sound plate my LG 47" flat screen TV sits on top of the plate with very little extra space necessary, approximately 5" of additional space to the width of either side of the TV's Base plate stand and no additional space to the depth# Also, the height for which it will raise your TV is extremely minimal at just 1#5", overall dimensions = #12.5"D x 27.5"W x 1.5H#. All of which adds up to a space conserving sound system which sits in a solid, stationary position. The Surround Sound is fantastic as are the Built-in Subwoofers which together provides an added movie theatre sound affect when the "Cinema-Sound" feature is turned on. Thus unit was very easy to connect to my new 65 inch Smart TV. Only one optical cable connected to the unit and my tv. Although the unit has a remote control, the tv turns it on and off when I turn on or off my television. The remote is small and very easy to use. There is also a mute button to use when necessary. The sound quality is excellent, especially for one who has poor hearing. Would highly recommend this as an external sound system.

I bought this accessory for 2 of the 3 lg's I recently purchased and found it to be competitive with the large multi-speaker sysem I sold. Worth the investment and works as advertised. On the Cinema setting, the sound really envelopes you.

Love this product. Easy to install and really makes the sound from my television much , much better. Slim design and measurements make it great for tight spaces. One minor flaw, wish you could adjust sound setttings such as bass, treble ect. Having said that LG 's factory setting are really quite good anyway.

I am so glad that I purchased the Soundplate. Great quality for the price you pay (a bit high but it's worthing). The sound is great and the 2 subwoofers are amazing, so much better than a classic 5+1 audio system.

I got this sound plate to compensate for my weak LG TV speakers and because I needed to control the sound with the TV remote. It works very well using the optical cable and I can see the volume on the TV display. I have only had it not sync once and that was resolved by turning the TV on and off. The LG iPhone app does not work well with this sound plate - the sound loses sync with the picture. The cinema sound setting is better than the default but you have to use the sound plate remote to activate it. Otherwise only the TV remote is needed. The sound is much better than the TV speakers but not as good as a sound bar/subwoofer combo.

I have been looking for a nice sounding speaker system for my TV that delivers a full rich sound at low to modest volumes in a small TV room. This does it for me. I live in an apartment and share walls with nice people.... I have no need for a massive sub-woofer or hundreds of watts per channel and a tangle of wires. I also do not need to rattle the walls... I do like to hear the rich base of a base fiddle, base guitar or tympani drum. I do like to hear the crisp highs and subtle background sounds of a well crafted movie sound track. Now I can.... I love listening to iTunes or Pandora via Bluetooth... from my table, laptop and phone. I do recommend this gadget..... Modern flat TVs all need a way to improve their sound and this does what I want. Find one to listen to... Do download the on-line manual and read all about it.

We bought a sound plate instead of a bar so our TV could sit on top of this unit. It's a much sleeker appearance than having the bar sitting in front of the TV. The sound is incredible. We are spoiled now watching movies and sports with this sound plate. The 'cinema sound' setting is fantastic!

I bought this for the slim design, great sound, Bluetooth and ease of use. Little did I know that my TV didn't have a Toslink input but rather S/PDIF. The sound plate only has a Toslink input. I'm still racking my brain as to how to get my TV output to Toslink. In the meantime, I have this going to my PS3 and have to change the connections to my DISH receiver for TV sound. The sound is outstanding when hooked up to my PS3 or DISH. I guess it's time to upgrade to a new TV in order to stay with the times - lol! Overall, I would recommend this for someone who doesn't want to have a bulky sound bar.
