Awesome product

Had my around 7 or so years best thing I ever owned, but sadly it died and I want it back. Looking over all these new ones makes me sad at what they do or don't do. Mine had my computer and Xbox plugged into it plus used it for movies and radio. I would love to have another just like it yes even the wired speakers.

It Broke 1 week after the warranty expired

This stereo/ Blu-ray player was pretty good. It could've used a couple more imputs or a component to HDMI converter built in, but overall, it ws ok. Then it BROKE a week AFTER the warranty expired. Now I'm stuck with an expensive paperweight. I am not impressed!

Defective Product

X-mas gift from wife. At first I loved the unit but after I used the device for 3+ months, unit began to turn itself off. Sent it away to get fixed. 3 month parts and labor warranty runs out and LG wants 1/3 of the value to fix their defective product.

Overall - A good addition to your home theater.

I have owned this along with an LG 47LW5600 TV and the 3D is stunning, DVD movies are great and sound is awesome also. The Blu-Ray player has more features than I use since most of them are on my TV but setup such as network adapter, choosing source for sound, and other are easy to setup and use. The speakers are bookshelf but it would be nice to have an adapter to make them ceiling mountable that his wires and looks good while hung but they don't. This is my first 3D blu-ray and TV theater and I am overall pleased with both items.

Satisfactory

The product is pretty cool with its features. I just wish it had Netflix on it with a user friendly interface. The other flaw is the tracks on the ipod are listed alphabetically and not by track number. Other than that, a nice equipment to have.

software

I like the system, but the software updates they push down screw it up. A few months back it would not see my iPod after an update, the next update fixed it. Last week the update, once again killed my iPod connection. So now I wait for the fix.

Mostly Good

Overall it is a great product. Nice quality sound on the surround, able to force 5.1 from stereo source to use all speakers, etc. Unfortunately it has its drawbacks. Sometimes when using it for optical in from the cable tv, the speakers wont start outputting audio until you change the speaker settings. Also when viewing netflix sometimes it will just turn off, saying good bye on the panel. Additionally there are occasions where it will freeze while viewing something and neither the powerbutton on the system nor the remote will do anything and requires to actually be physically unplugged from the outlet and replugged to turn back on. Also the simplilink only seems to jump around when you dont want it to. I turn on my xbox, nothing. But later when I switch back to tv, then turn off the xbox, it will switch to that input, after its off..

Easy Setup

The system is very easy to setup and the on screen menus are easy to navigate. Only issue thus far is Blue Ray Disc compatibility with Adobe Premiere created files and discs.

The anoyances

When it plays properly it is a really nice sounding and looking unit. The down side is some small annoying problems. Software updates don't always work over the internet connection and I have to manually load them via a USB drive. The auto power feature gets annoying when turning the LG 3D tv off and on. The simple link connection to the LG tv doesn't always recognize the suround sound and I find myself bouncing through TV menu's to re-establish the link. As a basic theater it works well, sounds great. Software updates are annoying and the integration to the LG TV should be smoother. Yes, I would buy one again!

Improvements?

I like this system all but for one detail. I have an LG LCD tv with a refresh rat of 120Hz, the LHB336 limits the video refresh rate at 60 Hz.

Not user friendly

First the bad: Hooked to an LG 42LE5400 LED TV, with simulink and all that, you'd think it would be a snap to use. Unfortunately, it's kinda one of those thing that works "sometimes". It keeps resetting it's setting, and can be frustrating to use. For instance, if you want to watch a DVD and press play or any other DVD related features and there is no DVD inserted, it will do nothing. It should at least open the DVD drawer so you can insert the disc, and have an on-screen announcement like "PLEASE INSERT DISC" But no, and the labels printed on the unit for the controls are unreadable, making them nearly useless in all but perfect lighting. I use an optical input for audio from my TV, and sometimes the system is slow to engage it, resulting in several second of silent TV viewing on start-up.The instructions for setting speaker levels are poor. It's mostly trial and error. The DVD is advertised to load quickly, but it doesn't seem to load in less than 10 seconds. Now the good: If you remove a half-watched DVD and insert another one, it automatically remembers where you left off if you put it back in later! The sound is quite crisp and clear and interactive on-screen settings allow you change individual speakers with a test "white noise". The surround-sound is remarkable when in use. Absolutely no complaints there. Pandora (an incredible web-based program is included and adds enormously to the experience. Many of the major online movie streaming are included. VUDU is my favorite because they stream in full 1080p and it's flawless. Netflix is the only other one I've tried, and their stream is poor and pixelated but that's Netflix. I don't have a 3D TV so I can't speak of that, but the bluray and upconvert is perfect. Hookup was easy, and wire was plentiful and color-coded. The iPod attachment works well, charging the player and allowing you to control your iPod with the screen on your TV, using the LG remote.

Disappointed

Everything is working well and the sound quality is not bad. I bought and LG TV and Home theater sytem to make sure that the controls would be compatible. Sorry to say I have to juggle remotes, because the two remotes are not compatible, and I can't get my cable remote to accept the home theater.
