My LG Gram 17inch laptop in action far surpasses what I was expecting. Lightweight, but sturdy. Impressive graphics for a productivity computer. Fast - to load, to sign-in, to go online and load web sites, and perform complex office needs quickly. Working with image editors and video editor is not quite as fast, but remains effortless. The community support site (now on facebook) is a bit lacking, and as for online technical support, very limited. Despite that this laptop is a winner.

I have been using my lg gram 15'' for the past 3 years and it is still running to my expectations. I am a heavy user and I keep on installing and uninstalling software on my laptop but since 3 years I had absolutely no complaint. The white color lg gram is still clean and neat . It is very light to carry it everywhere during meetings. I have many different models of laptop in the past but LG will now be the one I will always buy.

I remember the days of lugging around a big heavy laptop ... or having to sacrifice screen size for a lighter weight. This has both, a great screen size for work and play, as well as being beautifully portable & light weight. I also like the fingerprint scanner and the number of ports that are available. Seems like a winner!

What interested me the most in the 51Z980-R.AAS9U1 was that it was 15.6", and still lighter than the iOS 13" I was replacing. I love that it has the number keypad on the right side of the keyboard. Little getting used to the + - / buttons on the top of the numbers. Still handy though when you are incredibly used to using a 10 key. Ultra fast sign on with the Fingerprint ID, great feature in a world of needing a password for everything. Unfortunately I do have one complaint. The speaker placement being at the bottom right and left sides of keyboard. Unless you are listening on a hard flat surface, the sounds is projected downward. This is a "laptop" and I rarely use it on a hard surface so everything is either muffled or volume is extremely high and hollow sounding. I prefer not to wear headphones or earbuds but have to do so half the time in order to get a better sound. Otherwise this is a great laptop!

I bought this about a month ago on a Black Friday sale. had been eyeing it for the weight when I travel. It has lived up to all the hype so far. I have become an LG household as I've good luck with TVs etc from them.I wanted to note some things I don't like. The mouse pad is little stiff, but is positive. I also wish there had been some paper instruction included with it for set up. Of note, I had no clue that the power button was the finger tip scanner, so set it up without the feature. May be my bad eyes but had no clue. Also there is a neat LG control center with all kinds of neat features (where keyboard backlite lives, found that on YouTube vid. that could have been noted with an included single startup sheet. This is an oversight that LG should add. Hope this helps another happy LG purchaser.

I have had this laptop for a while now. It starts up super fast, It's really light and there have been no software or hardware problems so far. The Biggest problem is the computer slows down after being on it for a while. When I first start it up and run Quickbooks and a browser at the same time, there is no problem. After a while it slows down so much that opening a new window can take a while. It's like the memory fills up and that is it. The only way to fix it is to restart the computer. Disappointing on a 2K computer. Also, The battery life is nowhere near what they advertise in a real world environment.

Bought this 3 weeks ago and love everything about it except the number key section. The 10 key configuration is different than all keypads. I am constantly hitting enter when I mean to hit the decimal and can’t enter by touch due to all the math function keys being across the top instead of down the right side like normal. Thought I could get used to it, but after 35+ years in accounting it’s hard to change.

This is the first time upgrading to a new pc machine that has been so effortless! I attribute this to a solid design and user interface. Love how light the laptop is. This laptop is replacing my desktop and I and excited by how easy the keyboard is to use, the massive amount of storage available, and the clarity/resolution of the screen, and how quiet the machine runs. So happy I went for the larger screen - though I would have been happy with the smaller one. Very happy!!

Needed a portable workstation, after research, decided on the 2018 gram. Wanted stability, good battery life, four or six core processor, virtualization support. Pros - Runs cool (14 watt thermal envelope, chip isn't going to work as hard as in some other machines, but then won't be constantly thermal throttling), 16 Gig ram expandable to 24, compact form, lightweight, strong case, Thunderbolt usb-c port, large storage capacity. Cons - SATA SSD's (slower transfer speeds), no option for a spinning drive (can't really securely erase an SSD), no option for a six core Coffee Lake processor (four core Kaby Lake R here), touchscreen is reflective and the brightness is marginal, non Thunderbolt usb ports are only 3.0, speakers are poorly placed underneath, OS is Windows 10 Home only with no option for pre installed Windows 10 Professional, or other OSes, warranty is minimal. Also, LG has a history recently of defective motherboards in its smaller devices. I have three phones right now with bad boards, two had the boards replaced under warranty, only to go out again shortly after the warranty on the replacement boards ran out. The last one I didn't have an extended warranty on. For this LG gram laptop, I bought a three year comprehensive warrantee. I also back up the system regularly. I like the size and weight, and the thing runs well enough as a workstation. LG has a nice thing going with the form factor and battery life, but the price is a little high, when you really look into what this really is.

I bought this laptop based sight unseen based on the reviews on the internet and my experience earlier this year purchasing an LG television. I am over the top pleased with it. The quality it first rate. I work for a major corporation and the IT representative at my office had a look at it and he too was impressed. It was the first LG laptop he saw and he was glad to learn of it.

I bought this laptop to replace my old Toshiba Satellite, and he hasn't let me down yet. It still amazes me when I turn it on from being completely shut down, to being logged in and opening whatever program in 5-7 seconds. Another thing that I love about this laptop is how light it is, yet it feels sturdy and very well built.

After months of searching and scrutinizing every available full keyboard laptop on the market I chose this LG and could not be happier. It is so unbelievably thin and light and super fast. Having a full keyboard was essential for me in my line of work so I love having the number keys on the right. The touchpad is very responsive. Although I don't use the touchscreen frequently it is an added plus. They battery life is great. Set up was a breeze .
