Great Picture

With a high-def input, the picture is spectacular! Compared to our old LG LED set, contrast is higher, blacks are deeper and the viewing angle is much wider. With a standard-def input, the picture can appear a little fuzzy. Calibrating the set is complex (so many settings) and nearly impossible to do on your own since LG does not include a static test image or provide instructions of any sort. Setting recommendations posted online are inconsistent and may vary due to personal preferences and/or manufacturing differences in the equipment being calibrated. Audio is not an issue since we use our own sound system instead of the TV's.

Fantastic Television

This is my first HD TV. I did a lot of research before buying it. I wanted a TV that wasn't huge and there wasn't much out there less than 42" at 1080p. I also wanted it to be Wi-Fi capable and powered by LED technology. LED is still relatively new in TVs, but it is clearly going to be the future in flat screen TVs due to energy efficiency and superior picture quality. With this limited criteria for my ideal TV, LG came in at the top of the list. The size is perfect for a small apartment or bedroom with limited space. The picture quality is amazing. It's clear, crisp, vibrant and highly adjustable for optimal viewing under all lighting conditions. It is Wi-Fi capable, but you will need to purchase a Wi-Fi dongle to hook it up to your home network. I went with LG's hardware for this to assure compatibility, but likely any brand will do. It also easily hooked up to my Xbox. The only thing I would have LG change is to have more content available via their NetCast feature (which is built in to the TV). I find this particularly true now that Netflix has jumped the shark with its pricing and service fiasco. But this is quibbling compared to everything else that makes this TV one of the best on the market in its class.

32LE5400 LED TV review

Have owned the LG 32LE5400 LED TV for nearly a year now. It has an excellent picture quality, good sound, control interface is easy to use, sleek, and stylish. If I had it to do all over again, I'd buy the same LG LED TV again.

Nothing short of amazing.

I wanted a small TV for my room, something with super high quality and still had a decent size. I previously had a 27" inch LCD in my room and ended up replacing it with a 32" LED, this model exactly. To be honest, I love it. First off, LED is beautiful. The colors and deep, rich, vibrate, it's wonderful. 32" is such a perfect size for convenience, plus it's 1080p, the highest level of HD. It's WiFi compatible, I watch Netflix my TV more than my 360, Mac, or EVO. It's somewhat future proof. It's running at 120Hz. I thought I might have a shortage of HDMI inputs, but nonetheless there are far more than needed. It's phenomenal.

My first LG tv

I had need for a high def tv for my bedroom and the 32le5400 was the best picture of the 4 hdtv's I own. This unit is crystal clear and almost has a 3d appearance. When I look to replace, LG will be at the top of my review list.

Solid Buy

So I give this tv a solid 4 mainly because, I should have went with the 37" and I do not have a Blu-Ray player so I am unsure about the true potential. This tv is beautiful to look at. Set up was really easy, and had zero defects out of the box. I love that I can stream Netflix with this tv and watching HD NFL is awesome. (Just wish it was bigger.) The variety of connections (HDMI, VGA, and even fiber-optic) are a wonderful bonus! I also like the sound and picture pre-sets which are very easy to customize and save. The Energy settings were important to me and I find them to be not only flexibile, buteasy to use. I do wish they would just include the wireless modem. LG has also been great about following up about once every 4 months to ask how it is going. I like that. They are not annoying about it and I get the sense that they are interested in knowing what their customers think about their products. I would definitely buy another LG and recommend to friends and family.

New Television

We have been waiting fo rsometime now to purchase a new LED/LCD TV and decided with the holidays it was time to make the move. I did some checking and decided that with all the changes going on we should at least look at something with a network connection but wanted something with a good picture as well. After doing some looking around decided on the 32LE5400 and we are very happy with it. The setup was simple and it has a great picture. We have an entertainment piece of furniture and were locked into the 32" size but find it to be perfect for our living room.

Picture Good, Audio and Remote very poor

The picture on this set is very sharp. It has the many inputs I wanted: 3 Component and 2 Composite in addition to the 4 HDMI. Plus it will show photos from my PC since I connnected the TV to my router (wired connection). It found all my cable TV channels nicely, so the tuner gets high marks. That's the good news, but there are two glaring deficiencies. The biggest shortcoming is the remote control. There are buttons grouped all around the arrow keys that merge right in to the arrows. It's nearly impossible to avoid those buttons when using the arrow keys. When you think you press 'up' arrow, you may go back to 'home'. When you think you press the 'right' arrow, you may 'exit.' All purchasers should be wary of this glaring problem. The second shortcoming is the audio output headphone jack. The output volume is weak, weak, weak. You may be able to hear via headphones if you increase the volume to the maximum. But if you then unplug the headphones the TV audio will SCREAM loudness. I had to buy a headphone jack amplifier to solve this. Lastly, the audio on this and all LED TV is deficient because the speakers are tucked behind the screen, aimed downward, which inhibits sound quality. This design is the result of making the screen and bezel as thin as possible. The appearance is nice, but the sound suffers. I would restrict this TV to a bedroom or kitchen, but I would not recommend it for a main viewing area (living room) and not recommend any LED for use inside a cabinet where the sound will be trapped. I would not recommend to a friend because my friends care about more than a picture. If all you want is a good picture from cable TV, this set does that well. If you want Grandma to use it, look for a better remote and better sound.

First LCD TV for us

I am an old foggie, so I had my grandson do all the set up. Then he showed me how to use the set. i am still learning. There are so many set up parameters that really mesh all together to provide the most beautiful picture we have ever seen on any LCD TV, and so clear. The sound is great also.

Great Picture, Great Features

This is the 3rd HD LED tv that I've purchased and the first LG. First impressions: Set up was a breeze - labeling inputs, adjusting picture all very intuitive and easy to find without digging through a manual. Once set up and DVR and blu-ray connected the picture is great.. the internet connection is awesome and syncing up to my netflix account was quick. So nice to have such easy access to netflix without having to pop a disc in the PS3 =)
