For a high-end monitor I would've expected a longer life. I get flickering horizontal bars with burned in screen and washed out edges now.

I was happy with the display for about 2 years, then it started to show issues. First random blackouts for one our two seconds, then it took 10 min for the display to sync to the computer signal after switching on (in cloder temperature conditions). And now, it does not show and image at all.. It still gets power, but the screen shows horizontal lines and the on0screen menu does not come up. Really bad for an expensive professional monitor. I never experience a monitor fail like this after only 3 years. Is this built in obsolescence? To me it seems so.

Just after warranty expired, the screen started to get green corners and edges burn in. It's getting worse every day. Quick web research to find out, ii's a common issue on this model screen and I am lucky to have enjoy it for 2 years long... Great image but only for the time of your warranty !!! incredible

My monitor has broken half year after warranty expiration. In a few hours, the screen burned in green. According to the LG RMA service, several people have already returned it due to a design error.

If you purchase this for HDR and gaming its a waste of time. Gaming mode doesnt work when HDR is enabled.

After 3 times purchasing the same monitor within 3 months span. Exchanging the monitors. I?m still encountering screen flickering from light to dark, not much, just colorations change enough to realize I don?t have the correct colors representation. Other problem was another screen did a strange lines as I turned on the computer (see attached pics), I then had to send this LG monitor back to the seller. The only solution I have at this time is to send it back to LG, with no screen to work with. It?s not the question of money, it?s just principal and the way LG stands by their product. I still have this LG monitor that still flickers.

Bought this thing about a year ago and this product didn't go well as intended, ran into vertical lines on the screen out of sudden after owning it for 9 months. At least, in the end, I got a replacement after LG was not able to repair it in three months.

I have now bought two in the line of these monitors. This one and it’s smaller 27in counterpart much earlier. I thought this monitor would be just a bigger version but end end up having a major issue in less than 6 months after purchase. I red hue covered the entire border which I had to have fixed and hopefully the same thing doesn’t happen again. If it does this is a 2* buy if it doesn’t then 4.5* because this monitor is quite pricey

I purchased my LG 32UD99-W monitor in the summer of 2020, because I had recently purchased a MacBook Pro laptop to be my primary computer. I wanted the best resolution possible, as well the ability to have more than one browser open at the same time. I am in love with this monitor! I can be working on a spreadsheet, editing a document, and attending a Zoom meeting, all at the same time. My greatest pleasure is editing photos and videos on the big screen, and being able to clearly see which photos are essential, and worthy of printing in large sizes.

I've had this monitor for 14 months and the corners of the screen just started burning in. I wouldn't buy this monitor again because of that...or if I did, I would get the extended warranty because it's been just over the 1 year mark.

I bought this monitor for the 4K features with HDR. Have experienced screen tearing on my Xbox One X tho however & it won't play 4K UHD Bluray discs (HDCP 2.2 ) I have a High Speed HDMI cable 2.1 & I'm also having issues with steaming 4K to this monitor using Disney +, and VUDU. Wish they made a 32" LG ki OLED Monitor with 1ms response time.

I've had this monitor for a little over a year and there is already a defect on the screen. It started in the upper-left side of the screen and has now moved its way to the lower left side and tad bit on the bottom. Whatever the defect, it is a hardware issue (it is a static discoloration that doesn't change). Given that it is a higher-end monitor, one would think it would last a little longer without something like this happening.

I bought this a few days ago brand new and it's the best monitor I've ever had. The picture quality is amazing, I'm fine with 60hz so that doesn't bother me. It's a very large size and gives me plenty of screen space. I plan to buy a second one.

I bought this for color correcting 4K and 2K footage in Final Cut Pro X. I trust this monitor. It even comes with a printout of the factory calibration.

I bought this monitor early of 2019. It was excellent monitor with mind blowing picture quality. However, it has flickering (like every couple minutes) issue. Even with firm updates, I still notice the flickering issue. This hinders me from giving this monitor 5 stars.

I bought this monitor for many reasons. I needed a 4k monitor for photography and video editing but I was like to do some gaming on this desktop. I also need to display my MacBook Pro 15 through the same monitor. This monitor does all of this flawlessly! I even connected a PS4 to it as a bonus. The colors are amazing and the HDR (although not realy HDR) is beautiful. The colors in this monitor was what really sold me in the end. This monitor is also packed with lots of features like screen sharing and AMD freesync (which works really well with a 1080TI Gsync) Overall, I'm really happy with this monitor, I seen some bad reviews out there about light bleeds and light spots on the screens but I must have gotten lucky with a good display.

Excellent monitor on 4K, HDR10, 31.5 screen size and Free Sync is a plus. However, it doesn't give a jaw-dropping performance on gaming compared to the price you pay for.

Great monitor. The combination of features and price is very good. I’m mainly using this for PC gaming. The monitor has such a range of settings and option that it’s both a good and bad thing because IMO it complicates the setup, I don’t think many customers would be able to navigate through it all and end up with the best that this is capable of doing. HDR has it’s own challenges some of which are perhaps due to Windows and not the display. The product design is very nice. The stand is sturdy and looks good and the thin bezel around the screen looks great. The supplied HDMI cable is not capable of carrying 2160p 30hz 8-bit. Using the DisplayPort cable is better because it delivers 60hz and 10-bit color. This isn’t described in any of the manual or guide and is really important for getting the best from the screen. Both cables are quire short and barely reach around a desk to the PC. Installing the driver from the disc included or downloaded from LG was not a problem. HDR requires enabling in Windows 10 through the Settings / System / Windows HD Color “Play HDR games and apps” Doing so restricts the monitor to four HDR Picture Modes: HDR Vivid, HDR Standard, HDR Game and HDR Cinema. There is not a custom HDR mode but changes made to the Custom non-HDR picture mode will be transferred to the HDR ones. This is a bit confusing, again I think there are too many choices here. Before adjusting the settings it’s necessary to have some test materials suited to HDR, I found some from Diversified Video Solutions The most important ones and the only ones you can really use without a calibrating device are the Black Clipping and Grayscale Ramps. Since the video settings are confined to the presets any adjustments need to be made through your PC graphics card interface such as Nvidia Control Panel. Set Gamma to make skin tones correct and allow every step of the gray ramps to be visible. Adjust the black clipping with Brightness and the white level on the gray ramps with Contrast. I personally found the HDR Game preset to be the best, showing the best range of black levels and keeping the colors from appearing too vivid. Windows makes some very garish primary colors in HDR Mode as well and these looked better in that preset. Digital Vibrance can also be turned down in Nvidia CP. It’s too bad that this monitor doesn’t come with a calibrated correct preset for HDR. You can get it looking correct but it takes work. Another setting that was trouble for me was the Game setting for Response Time. For me it was best set off as otherwise it created a sticking or micro stutter when gaming. This is actually mentioned in the manual. The 5ms this display has is pretty typical for screens this size and with any enhancement disabled it runs very smooth. This had caused me quite some concern until I figured to switch the setting off. Sharpness is another setting that really has no place in today’s digital displays especially 4K and HDR where it creates problems with text appearing dithery. I ended up with this at 20%. My scores: Picture Quality: I’m giving it a 4/5 because it is so hard to get Windows looking right on it. Maybe that’s the fault of Microsift and not the display itself. You can get it to 5/5 but it takes work. For Gaming: 5/5 It is spectacular. Gaming in 4K with HDR is fantastic and this does a beautiful job. Tech Support: I might have needed to contact them with all the trials of setting this up so I put that at 3/5. Really it shouldn’t be necessary for customers to go through all these hoops. TVs and monitors today have too many settings, this one is par for the course I suppose. Final analysis: All the work pays off though in that this is a really stellar display. I’m seeing new ranges of color and contrast in games I hadn’t previously seen, even non-HDR ones and the size is quite immersive.

This screen flickering issue is extremely common for those using this monitor with the Xbox one X. I had this same issue with another LG product sooooooo it’s pretty safe to say I will not be buying anything from LG again. LG seems to refuse to acknowledge this issue. I doubt it will ever be fixed. But I will update this review if it does.

Monitor is beautiful. But I get a lot of black screens for a second or so. Playing on Xbox and I’m not sure how to fix (if you can this.

Been looking for a monitor for over a year before stumbling upon this perfect piece pf hardware that matched all my needs! At first I thought 32 inch may be a bit too big...but no! It's the perfect size! I have so much screen real estate, completely changed my workflow, in a positive way.

I have been using this monitor for less than a week now, had absolutely no issues. I have this hooked up to a early 2015 MacBook Pro retina through the display port and it works flawlessly. I also have my Xbox one X hooked up, gameplay is very smooth, HDR games look stunning, FreeSync works as intended. I initially had some trouble updating the software on this monitor through the OnScreen Control, it wouldn’t recognize the USB-C cable with adapter (original accessories) on the mac. To solve this issue I just had to update my OnScreen Control to version 3.06 (downloaded from LG’s support page) and restart my computer, it immediately recognized that the monitor was plugged in and allowed me to update my monitors software to the latest version (3.14, 1.34). Overall I’m happy with my purchase.

Monitor looks fantastic. Love the resolution and the colors are great. As others have expressed here I'm having issues with the monitor coming up as 2.0 USB hub instead of 3.0. I've tested with two different 2016 15" rMBP and all LG can do is have it repaired. I'm on 2nd case now. Supposedly my laptops are supported for 4k and 3.0 via USB C, but hasn't happened yet.

I bought this monitor for console gaming and it looks great. The one issue is that it does go black for around 1-2 seconds then back to picture once in a while. Hard to diagnose the issue with LG because it is not easily replicable. Customer service is good and it is currently being serviced..hope to find out more soon. Maybe should have waited for the 32UK950 but the release could still be a while?

I wanted a 5K monitor but quickly found limited options in the 32" range. As a video editor I need accuracy, incredible quality, and scalability. This impressive monster of a monitor is advanced enough that even if I need 5K later, it's advanced enough to be on my A team for years. There are so many features for future usage that I have no fear that it will grow with me. And, the gaming features are there when I need them down the road.

Gorgeous Monitor
By Ton1Montana
The LG 32UD99-W Monitor is currently the best 32-inch, 4K wide color gamut (DCI-P3 95%) display on the market that also happens to support HDR10. The display itself is factory calibrated and the colors are gorgeous. The design of the virtually borderless (CINEMA) screen and slim arcline stand is just amazing. I downsized from two 27-inch monitors to this one and couldn’t be happier. The built-in speakers are an added bonus, especially if you were relying only on headphones before.
I just love this amazing monitor!!????????

I've had this monitor for a few days now and I just love it. I have it perfectly working with my gaming PC (Nvidia Pascal Titan Xp), Mac Pro (Nvidia Maxwell Titan X), PS4 Pro, and all my other devices. The picture is shockingly amazing and with HDR on it blows me away. I have had no problems whatsoever. Thank you LG for coming out with this amazing monitor. I even found an affordable 4K@60 HDR HDMI switcher that works like a charm. I definitely would recommend this product to friends and fa...
