Bought this unit in 2011 and the speakers stopped working 5-28-17. Outside speakers would not work and the price to repair was bad. Not happy with this problem. Can this be repaired easily with little cost ?? R F Jones

was good while it worked. All I have now is a black screen and a flashing red power indicator From what I've it sound like a fairly common problem. Never buy an LG product again.

Bought my LD Smart TV on 04/25/11 and it has gone out. The picture is faded and has lines through it. I thought that this TV would have lasted longer than 3 years.

Was a great TV up to the point it died on me with no warning. Lasted 3 years and 4 months. I know we live in a "disposable" society but I expect a major purchase like a flat screen tv from a reputable manufacturer to last longer than this. won't buy another LG product.

I rec'd this as a gift from my mother when I moved to a new condo. I love it, I am a 5ft lady, and I set it up all by myself, picked it up and put it in the tv cabinet. The picture and sound are beautiful, and I ike the ease of how I can rotate it should I be in the kitchen making coffee, etc....i would love to get this or a the Cinema 3D tv for my son's room...he is away at college and I want a nice tv in his room....maybe he will come home more often!! thank you.

Looks awesome and works perfect. Netcast is a welcome bonus. This set is worth every penny. It's WI-FI ready but needs a LG dongle to use WI-FI or you can connect to internet using a simple network cord.

PROS:This is my first lcd tv and i have to say it is a great one, with images that look so realistic. The 120Hz really does its job, GREAT COLORS and easy to use system,All the HD ports are awesome. Its a great 42 inch tv Cons: The netcast is kinda useless , the only one worth it is netflix yet it runs to slow so i just use my xbox

This is a great TV! My sister tells me all the time how real the movement looks (thanks to the TruMotion 120Hz). A few things, though. (1) Ever since I turned it on the first time, there is this area on the rightmost part of the screen that looks discolored when the screen is black and the LG screensaver is on. I never called about it because when I'm actually watching something on the TV, the actual colors and pixels don't look discolored. The discoloration of the black happens only when the screensaver is on and the screen is black. If this indeed gets worse, I will call LG. (2) The screen seems to dim and light up randomly and I have checked my settings twice and thrice, but still I don't know why this happens. I even looked it up online to see if anyone had the same problem. I didn't see anything, and I haven't told LG about it. It doesn't bother me that much, but if it gets worse I will call LG. (3) Netcast has been upgraded to add Pandora. However, the TV I have does not allow for that Netcast update, so I can't have Pandora. I think this is really stupid and I should at least be able to get the automatic update. The options I have are Netflix, CinemaNow, MLB.TV, Picasa Web Albums, vudu HD movies, Yahoo, YouTube videos, and a placeholder that says "Coming Soon." Since it says "Coming Soon," it makes me expect updates. They should not have it say that if they KNOW they aren't going to update NetCast on MY TV with NEW apps. So basically, I give it a 4 for quality because of the discoloration & dimming issue, and I give it a 4 on features because they can't even upgrade NetCast to have Pandora. Overall, this is a 4 for me. If I were able to have the Pandora upgrade, I'd rate the overall rating a 5.

Really enjoying the 42" LCD TV! Great picture quality, sufficient number of interfaces. Added a WiFi dongle to also access Netflix, YouTube, etc. All-in-all, a great product. One related customer-service story as well. Shortly after purchasing the unit, we noticed a hair-line anomoly in the picture (we are pretty sure that it was there all along). LG had a technician come on site and fix it under warrenty and it is as good as new! Great customer service. I would strongly consider purchasing an LG TV again in the future.

I had a dark band going across the middle of the screen so I sent an email via the website support channel. Figured it's a corporate website, large company, perhaps I'll get a response within a few weeks. I sent the email in the morning, got a phone call in the early afternoon from LG's regional support I assume, then got a phone call from a local LG repair guy later that day. All in the same day. Part was ordered, replaced, and fixed to perfect working order in less than a week. TV is excellent. Simply does what it's supposed to do. Looks great and works great.

My first LG LCD TV and I'm totally pleased. The TV has a good picture and sound. We find it easy navigating through the input menus with the remote when we want to switch from AV to USB or HDMI ports. The one thing I would have enjoyed more, an extra AV connection, it only has 2.

I bought 3 Lg tvs in 2010 - 2 42inch that have since been discontinued. One that I gave as a xmas present failed completely after only 4 1/2 months. The other two are wonderful tvs and so far no problem. I love them !!The repairman who went to my sons house the fist time did not have correct part so it took a weekor so from initial service call to fix it- fine now, repairman knowledgable and informative

I love this TV. Not only is the color perfect but all the widgets and wireless set up is amazing! I love the easy access to ordering movies, watching YouTube and finding current weather. Have a 42" of another brand that is Full HD, but 60HZ. I was happy with it, but it had developed a screen anomalie that could be annoying at times. My Brother had bought an LG 42" and was happy with it and I had seen them on display at the store. Anyway, I wasn't really looking for another TV, but opened my box one morning and had an ad for this TV for a very good price. After some thought I decided to order it and did. So far, I have been extremely pleased with this. Has one fantastic picture although, it is still a bit challenging to get it scaled right. Haven't worked with the dongle as yet as I could also hardwire the connection. Was unaware that it was 3-D ready, so that was a nice surprise as as the firmware has been updated to 3-D in my PS3. Looking forward to many enjoyable hours of viewing.

had this TV for a month now what a great TV! Super clear picture, easy to use controls, picture wizard is nice feature. Price was outstanding, wireless set up was easy and all Netflix streaming is outstanding, all the Yahoo apps work well , but a little slow. You cannot go wrong with this TV.
