Same issue as everyone else. Flickering led boards where once an led dies it takes out the whole board / whole tv. Talk about a throw away society. Parents still have a TV that's 36 years old. Don't you know it's still working. Would be nice to get 10 years out of this newer garbage. Funny how everybody is extended warranty like Best buy doesn't go past 5 years. Guess they know how to grab your extra money as the TV will fail just outside the extended warranty. LG gives you 1 year. That's just a laugh...

For those who have this similar problem, I simply went to the picture setting, then adjusted all the options (Color, sharpness, brightness, contrast, and backlight) to zero. when I adjusted the Backlight, then flash stopped. When I reached 70 & 71 it then restarted. the backlight is most likely going out, but not completely. Simply adjust to a lower backlight brightness until the flash stops or until you fix or upgrade.

We have had this TV just one month shy of 2 years with absolutely no complaints. A couple of months ago it developed a white spot leading me to think one of the LEDs fell off. My husband could live with that. This morning it started flickering on and off and is completely unwatchable. I'm researching now to purchase another brand.

I bought this tv 2 1/2 years ago and some LED lights burnt out, replaced those and bought a new power supply and now I have verical lines on half the screen. I don't think it's worth it to spend any more money to try to fix it, so I will throw it in the garbage and buy a new TV and it won't be an LG.

We have had this TV for 1 year, 8 mos and now it wont turn on. Very frustrating when you spend the money on a nice TV and it doesn't even last 2 years. LG will definitely not be first on our list when looking for a new TV.

This TV is very clear pic Reflects light well, It is placed near window. Sound volume, a little low, but no problem-just turn it up a little more .Very satisfied with this product. The best buy and the best price. Great company!!

I've had my LG 49LB5550 for over 3 months and am very pleased with the picture quality. My only complaint is that the audio could be better , and that there is no external output for audio to connect to my analog stereo.

Couldn't beat the price and did not see any tv on the market with better value. Great for the person who just wants a good tv without bells and whistles. Style is a little boring but they are making TV's nowadays with cheaper materials and more basic looking than when lcd's 1st came out.

I was able to buy this set on sale for $300 dollars under list and could not be happier. I have Apple TV and Comcast so I'm all set. If this set is as durable as my other LG set it can't be beat.

I love this TV the audio is great and picture is just perfect. The only down side is not having the TV turning the BD player on by its self but otherwise the TV is just wonderful. LG always has great electronics.

I have been using this TV 49LB5550 extensively for the last three months. Picture Quality: Default settings are not great, but the settings can be adjusted and the picture reproduction is excellent. I have tried with multiple BBC HD documentaries and movie DVDs - they all came out great. Sound quality: Excellent sound reproduction - and the output from the digital connection is superb. Speakers are great - however the positioning of speakers facing downwards will not help to enjoy all that great sound, and you will need an external speaker set. TV tuner - works very well, and has good quality picture - tunes Digital, analog channels 2 HDMI ports, reasonable to expect for this price, and there are no RGB/VGA input. Optical Audio out is a great addition and helps to set up the external speakers. Overall - highly recommended at this price point for those who do not want to waste money while waiting for the real 4K TV!

Got this television as a Black Friday door buster. Did not really think much of lg as a brand at that point. But when I got home and installed my tv, I have to say , it exceeded far beyond my expectations. The tv is clear, shows vibrant colors and is great for movies and video game play. I'm absolutely pleased with my purchase. LG U ROCK!

The picture and sound is great! You can adjust specific sounds and colors, a lot of options to personalize it! Its lightweight, so it can sit on your entertainment center or be mounted. The only thing I did not like about this TV is there is no audio OUT port available. Had to run it through our cable box, then into our sound bar. Other than that, Its GREAT!
