My wife purchased this TV in 2014, TV is still working great with no issues. Sound is not the best but a soundbar can easily fix this. I see everyone saying that the picture went out, they must be watching it 24/7. I know its discontinued but it is a good TV.

I loved the LG brand and was excited to purchase out TV in December 2013 but here we are and I have no screen and no sound! Did some investigating on fixes and tested a few remedies and found with a flashlight the screen was on but no backlight( too complicated for me) and called to try to have it repaired and no one around works on LG .Now to look for a new TV. Disappointed.

This TV is really nothing to brag about to your friends but it holds up nice and is set at a nice price. Picture quality is decent to where sound quality is great. The only con to this tv is it only has 2 hdmi ports and the second port is located by the service port in an area to where if the tv is moved sometimes you have to unplug and plug back in to get a connection back. You could call not being a smart tv is a con but I knew that when I purchased and with the blu ray and apple tv smart features were not needed for me. Things I like about it are LED so it is thin and light, cool running, energy efficient. We have a Plasma which I loved the screen but it ran really hot, AC ran constant in the living room all summer so that was the main reason for the purchase and so far it looks like it will do what I wanted it too.

We are enjoying the television very much. Picture is clear and sharp. Excellent sound. Just one thing that we find wrong; it tends to make people look short and wide on some programs. That's the only negative that we can say about it. We are not sure if there is some type of adjustment for this or not.

I'm technically-challenged. When my TV died, I asked my son-in-law to help me purchase a new TV. I wanted reliability over any bells-and-whistles. He said that I couldn't go wrong with an item from LG and he was right. The TV was easy to install and the picture quality is incredible! What's even nicer is that all my grown kids can't believe that Mom has a bigger TV in her living room than they do in theirs! Thanks, LG, for an awesome product. I'm one happy owner.

disclaimer: i am a simpleton - no cable or satellite, don't use netflix or computer to tv. i receive over the air signal. the tv is better than i expected. i was worried about the 60khz. the 60khz does not have any effect that i have noticed. i am thrilled with the clarity and sound. also the tv weighs much less than my old 42 inch plasma tvs. it was easy to setup and the remote is good. very happy. i got it online at walmart on black friday - the price was also awesome.

Excellent quality for the price. Picture is superb and sound is OK. Easy to use. Only downside is that you can't have A/V hookup and Componet hookup at same time, so I can't have my DVD and Wii both hooked at all times but have to unplug one.

Like many others reviewing here, I bought this model (LN5100 on sale at WalMart. Awesome deal on superior television. Only downside is you might need a soundbar for larger living areas due to the smaller speakers.

I started off with a good note on this TV as I bought it on a black Friday. As it turned out, the TV works great and I enjoy its quality image. For the price, it is a great TV. All visitors who see the TV assume that is a very expensive one because of its quality. I also like the ease to change its features and settings. Though it does not affect me much, I think that it is a shortcoming to only have one HDMI and USB port on it. Nowadays when it is very common to link many devices together, it would be ideal for it have more than one of these ports.

Has a great picture. Great for the price . Some sound quality but I just hooked it up to a sound bar and it sounds great. Enough ports for what I need . Maybe not be enough ports or jacks for serious gamers but I love the quality of the TV for the price.

This TV is prefect for us. We are not big gamer's so we could care less about the extra ports. It is much easier to plug things in then our previous TV. The ports are more convenient to get to. The clarity is great and a perfect size. I purchased on line and paid about $100.00 less then the Christmas sales. Can't ask for more than that. :)

We bought this TV for a great price. I had been looking for several months and new as soon as I seen this advertised that it was the one! It is super clear and easy to set up once we attached the HMDI cord.

Although I have only owned the TV for a little over a month, I have nothing but good things to say about it. First and foremost it is a great price. The picture quality is excellent. The only drawback I notice is with the 60 Hz there is some shadowing that occurs. Still recommend!

This TV is a good TV for the new generation of LED TV's although the soap opera effect still exists. The TV works good, but the zoom feature is severely limited on this model. It will not completely zoom out the sides or top of the picture and leaves a black bar whether you use cinema 1 or cinema 2 zoom. This should not even be an issue with the larger TV's. There should be a complete zoom of the picture to stretch out completely. LG also makes a swivel base on some models which is a great feature for different viewing angles. This TV has a fixed stand.
