After 8 years, this OLED beauty is still going strong. For a television of this age, the picture is still jaw-dropping. Plus I'm probably one of the 14 people who still enjoy 3D, so I'm hoping my G9100 continues to perform. Someday I'll upgrade to 4K - bye bye 3D, but right now I'm perfectly satisfied and have no reason to retire this outstanding OLED 3D TV.

I've had this TV for about 3 years and it plays just as good as the first day that I received it. My children still utilize the 3D mode for certain movies and tv shows. Just wish they would update the wedOS for this model so we can have access to some of the new features available.

I purchased this TV back in 2016 and don't regret it. I wish LG would release new firmware updates that would allow casting as well as new apps such as Apple TV and Disney Plus. Having access to new apps would extend the life of this unit.

I purchased this TV for my husband 2 yrs ago, and have not regretted it! We love the incredible display. We paired it with a Bose sound bar, as the TV speakers did not provide adequate sound (I do't know any TV that does) for our great room. My only suggestion, is that it should come with 4 USB ports. We have to switch between the Apple TV, and the DVD player on the 3rd port. The first 2 are taken up by DirecTV and the sound bar.

This TV may even be better than its newer sibling we got-the LG 65C6P. This EG9100 has incredible black levels for watching new movies and streaming shows. The quality is sharp. The lighting of blacks and whites, bright and dark on the screen is obvious and you can see the difference.

I've had this television for over a year now and I have to say it's by far the best picture in the 55" class. They may cost more but they are defiantly worth it. Do not hesitate if you are considering a OLED TV.

Purchased this more than an year ago. Colors are still crisp, and vibrant. Excellent sound. 3D features are an added plus, love and enjoy my 3D movies!!

I am an avid lover of the passive 3D system and this model has some great features, although not quite 4K. But I would have given it a perfect rating if I could have downloaded apps of my choice and not been locked into ones that only LG provide (most of which are useless to mono lingual Australians like me!. Also some of the features are a bit clumsy like Screenshare - until you get used to it. Alan

I bought this tv a little over a year ago and at times it can be amazing. When you have high quality content in a properly lit scene, there's no better 1080p tv. Scenes that are near black can look really bad though. You get banding, noise, and other distracting effects. This seems to be a problem with all OLED tvs.

For a while, I searched, compared and decided to buy a TV. I also decided on panel technologies and eventually chose LG's OLED. Now I'm absolutely sure that the decision was right. I am extremely happy and satisfied, and I certainly recommend purchasing. There is definitely no comparison with the now existing panel technologies and LG's OLED.

The colors are amazing and watching 4k movies is a real experience on this tv even though its not 4k. I've had this tv for awhile now and I really don't have any negatives other than the remote does eat through batteries and this is a premium tv so it pretty pricey. The apps run smooth so no need for any external boxes, it goes through the tv apps!!!

The 55EG9100 is a very versatile device with a great picture. It takes input from a number of devices, and controls some features (not all) of those devices from its remote. When it is connected to the satellite box, the satellite remote controls all the features of the satellite box (channels, etc.) as well as some features of the TV itself (volume, for instance). When it is connected to the Internet, using its built-in WiFi capability, the Magic Remote controls its functions. It's great. LG has included online instructional sessions. that are quite clear, for various devices and functions, such as Chromecast or Miracast ; you view or follow them as needed, depending on your needs. The menu system for accessing the services and utilities (NetFlix, picture viewer and editor, help system) is easy to use. The settings menu are easy to access, and it's easy to set up attached devices. The LGEG9100 can also be set to update itself automatically as software updates become available. The one feature that doesn't work for me is Microsoft's Miracast from some applications on my Microsoft Lumia 950 phone. When I attempt to connect, the LGEG9100 reports that it can't connect, and suggests applying an update. There appears to be no LG update that will fix the issue. I'm very happy with this device
