Shopper : Just got this tv and it is absolutely stunning. Was wondering if the lg logo in front of the tv always stay on or is there a setting to turn it off?WELDON S : My logo only stays on for a few seconds after the TV is turned off. It then disappears and only the red light on the lower right of the set stays on to show it is powered. Sorry but I never noticed a way to change this logo feature. I am glad I got the 3D as I am using the 2D to 3D conversion option more than I thought I would. I paid $1600 for mine which I felt was a good price. It will probably be lower in December. After you put in your Netflix name and password, it remembers it next time you get into Netflix. cool features. EnjoyJEFFREY S : yes. there is a setting for it to be ON (low, med, high brightness), or OFF. I can't point you to it right now because I am out. But I am sure of it because I played around with it. Just go through the settings menus and you will see itSANKAR M : There is a setting which I dont exactly remember. Scroll through the various menu options which are not that many you will see what you are looking for. Hope this helps.HERSHEL C : I HAVE NOT FOUND A WAY TO TURN THIS LIGHT OFF, YET. WE HAVE HAD FOR LESS THAN A MONTH AND IT IS A GREAT TV SET.ANDREW R : Unfortunately the user manual is unclear. There may be a setting buried in the set's menu system that controls it, but again, the user manual is unclear on this issue.
Shopper : Can you use a universal remote such as a Logitech harmony work with this tv?CRAIG K : I use the cable company's universal remote and it works for basic functions such as volume, channel and powering the TV on and off. The problem is that it does not work for changing inputs or using apps or really for any of the great features of the TV. I'm not sure if a Logitech Harmony would be better. Although it's obviously far superior to a cable box universal remote, I have a feeling it wouldn't work because the TV is design to work specifically with the magic remote. I hope this helps, sorry I can't give you a more definitive answer.HOWARD K : I guess so, I am using the cable company (comcast) remote and works very good.Nick C : According to logitech compatibility website it does say it is compatible but again i've heard different things.ANDREW R : It may work in theory, however compatibility would be determined by the manufacturer and model of the universal remote. LG does not specify compatibility with 3rd party universal remotes.
SAIBABU M : While playing You tube it stops play after a while most of the time it is after 50 min. Does any one experiencing this problem?ZHEN D : I haven't really play much with the Internet or smart function of the tv. I am having some issue or problem with blurry or like a double ghost image when watching football or some other channels and movies, I don't know if its the tv or i just need to adjust the settings. Certain channels are fine and certain channels are not even with the words it's like having a clear double image when you look at very closely but when you far away you couldn't tell SANKAR M : Yah it does. I wont say that it is exactly or around 50 minutes, but it happens after 20 mins or so. If you try to restart the video it starts from the beginning. Hope they release a fix for this.HOWARD K : I have been with this TV for about 5 months now, never had this problem before.BLAS M : Yes. I bought the TV one month ago and I have suffered the same problem. After 5-15 minutes, the youtube video stops amd the TV quits out of the youtube application.SATISH M : Yes. I have the same problem. Planning to call LG HELPDESK. Let me know if u found a solution

Great TV

I've been using the tv for movies and gaming. The picture quality is outstanding and 3d is awsome. The only draw back I would say is the quirky remote and edge light bleed. The edge light bleed is almost none existant after some adjustment.

my kids love it

Great deal on a solid tv

Has wifi with Netflix and other streaming services built in. LG also has a remote app for iOS which is extremely useful and easy to use. Beautiful screen and the smallest bezel I've seen on a TV yet. I believe the newer 2013 versions are not as slim as this one.

Amazing TV. I just love the magic remote and browser works pretty well. I can check my email, news and videos through the tv. I just wish LG had more apps to use with their TVs.

"LIFE WITH THIS TV IS DEFINITELY GOOD!"

The LG (aka:Life is Good) 55LM8600 TV is as good as it gets when it comes to quality and price. The picture is awesome. The 3D is amazing. The remote control is space age. Nuff said! Several hints for all you do it yourself installers out there: Do not go on the cheap with the hanging bracket for wall mounts. Make all of the wired connections to the back of the TV you will need before you hang the unit, which is a two person job. Last but not least, invest in a top of the line (Bose CineMate Series II comes to mind) sound system. The best part of this purchase was the price, quick delivery, communications and service from ADORAMA. Thanks!

Compare LM8600 vs Samsung ES8000

The Samsung has HORRIBLE banding and flashlighting. This TV has an almost imperceptible amount of cloudiness which once playing a DVD/BLURAY, looks fantastic. Can't see it.

Awesome TV

You instantly have a home theater with this TV. Everybody comes to watch football at my house now. 3D TV is incredible and The Avengers in 3D was better than going to the movies. I surf the net and watch TV at the same time. I can't say enough on how impressed I am with this TV.
