This was a excellent buy. I really love the HD picture. It’s seems the picture is better now than the first day I bought it. I have bought 3 other LG TVs since this 79ub9800 purchase.

The remote has buttons that arn't even used. You have to drill 3 to 4 layers down just to get to where you can change the output from the built in speakers to other out put options. Something like that should be on the remote.

The equipment is an engineering marvel, but the picture is unbelievable. Deep rich blacks and brilliant vibrant colors captivate you. It dominates the room, you can't take your eyes off of it.

easy to set up and has great features. picture quality is excellent when the proper color and other settings are applied. sound quality is excellent with the built-in HK speakers - better than most comparable TVs. replaced my 52 in. Sony HD LCD and no comparison except the colors on the Sony seem warmer.

Excellent image and sound quality. Magic mouse makes using Smart TV features very easy. It is the best I have seen. Skype speed is bit slow. It is missing HBO-GO. Voice commands do not work well.

You will not regret buying this TV, it has an amazing picture, even over the air HD looks great. I have owned several LCD/LED TV's and this is by far the best. I had read the reviews, watched several youtube comparisons, in store demos, and was ready to buy, but was still uneasy about spending so much on a tv without seeing what everyday non 4k looks like and 3D. I found the 55in LG 4k at a warehouse store for a great price and replaced my familyroom tv. My rational was if I did not like it could be easily returned and I would look for another tv. I was amazed by the 55 in, 4k is stunning, 3D will wow you, everyday HD from Satellite and over the air is fantastic. Needless to say after a few days with the 55in I went out and purchased the 79in, now I have 2 great tv's. The interface for the tv is easy to navigate, I was a little worried about the remote, it is like a Wii controller you move the pointer to get to menu options etc. It will also allow you to click through options and screens with remote buttons, both ways are easy to use. Never used the smart functionality of a tv, I always found the interface to be clunky and slow, would use an external device like a gaming console, not so with this tv, it is easy to use and fast, can switch from netflix to Hulu to youtube and back easily. There is voice and gesture motion control for this tv as well as a built in camera (have not used Skye yet Sound is very good from the built in speaker bars, surround mode gets me every once in a while, most with water features in a movie or show, I think for a second that there is water running somewhere in the house. Could babble on for days, I cannot not say enough good things about this tv, it is an outstanding value, many cool features, amazing picture and 3D. This TV will be the showcase of any room and will not disappoint.

We couldn't be more pleased with out purchase of this big screen TV. Out of the box, the settings are way too bright. Once toned down, the picture with an HD signal is fantastic. No issues with high speed action such as sports. What little 3D we have tried looks good as well. The speakers have only been used when we have watched a little on-line content. They sound as good or better than any sound bar we have tried. Another plus is side view quality, great when we entertain

This was an upgrade from a 65" rear projection tv. It is a whole new world of enjoyment. Great picture in all modes, the built in sound is better than most. I have it paired with a 4k upscaling dvd player and all my movies look so much better. Can't wait for baseball season to start. Only negative, you can't use wireless headphones and the built in speakers together. I am hard of hearing and really like using the headphones, my wife would rather just have the tv speakers on.

This TV has all the features, especially picture and sound, that one may realistically want. I noticed others have made comments that they have problems with a few specific, esoteric features, but most real-world users will not encounter these issues (and all TVs have some). However, if your main wants are a great picture, great sound, great upscaling for cable, DVDs and BluRays, and a easy to use remote (wife friendly), at a price (when on sale) that is much better then anything else its competitors offer (even when they are on sale), then this is a TV you should strongly consider. I did a lot of research on a number of TVs, quality vs price, and this TV wins hands down.

i'm very satisfy with this great tv, i can't believe what a great product this has been for us. all the people who sees the tv gives great compliments on it, and they also want to go out and try to find a deal like the one i got, my son loves to play his xbox one on it, it gives perfect picture, all of his friends come here just to play game on such of beautiful tv, i highly recommend this product to anyone.

We are big NFL fans and watching NFL Sunday Ticket on this huge TV with incredible resolution makes you feel bruised and tired when the day is over. Watching movies is like being at the movie theater only with much better resolution. TV also has a tremendous built-in sound system. Really considered disconnecting my surround sound system it is so good.

I purchased this TV wanting a large screen 4K version. I can say this TV is awesome. I am amazed that there are NO reviews out there for this set. Sure it is not perfect as NO TV on the market is as they all have their short comings. You would not be disappointed with the purchase of this model. The WebOS is awesome! It is fairly easy to navigate as well. The blacks in the set are pretty darn awesome as are the colors and picture quality. The only BIG GRIPE I have with this set is the BASE! It absolutely stinks! Poor design on LG's part. You have to get a stand that is a minimum of 73 inches or mount in on the wall. Outside of the base/stand, I am utterly pleased with TV! I will add to this review if LG allows me to as I have more time to use this TV. I can say that the sound quality of the set is AMAZING for a TV!

This is a great TV. Tremendous up conversion. My challenge is that we have quite a bit of ghosting with the 3D. With such a large picture, the ghosting really becomes a distraction and there is no where I can find in the 3D setting to adjust this. For a TV of this price, I wouldn't have expected this type of set-back (I have a smaller LG 3D TV with no noticeable ghosting).
