It is a very good camera, but if you use external sound system like I do, you are very likely to run into issues. Every time I used the camera, it would reset my sound system settings from external sound source to internal speakers. It basically switches/reverts the TV configuration to the built-in speakers. All of a sudden my sound system would refuse to work and It took me a little while to figure out what was happening. I have an excellent 7-1 sound system that runs all my equipment, I got tired of having to go into the TV configuration and resetting things every time I used the camera, so I returned it to LG.

I have LG LN42577S-ZK Smart TV so I bought the video call camera It works great as it function very good but it does not support with camera Apps to make video/picture as it supports only LG AN-VC500 and it says on the manual LG LN42577S-ZK that you can purchase only LG AN-VC400

This camera is easy to use. It is also sleek and quickly attached to the top of the television. It blends in so you barely notice it is there. The picture and the sound is fantastic. It is definitely worth the money to see and be able to talk to the children and the grandchildren.

When I go to settings on my LG TV, and then click on camera, I get a message that "the connected camera does not support video/picture. Please connect AN – DC 500 that supports video/picture."And yet, when I go to Skype, the camera works.

The product came timely and well packed. It was very easy to install even for someone like me- not tech savvy person. All our friends we have contacted via Skype are commenting on the picture they see. We are very pleased with the camera and its functions and overall ease of use!

We love using this for Skype call. But there are things that can get better. -- The Skype menu takes 50% of the screen and wont hide. -- There is no left and right swivel options on the cam. Other than that its great product. Smooth and easy. I just saw AN-VC500 available. I might have bought that instead. :

I wanted to find a camera for my LED TV. Tried a different type of camera before purchasing this one. Out of all the camera's trying, I recommend getting this camera for your TV if you wish to Skype through there. I tried the product out the night I received it. The person I was talking to on Skype, said that we came out crystal clear and the quality was excellent. The set up was very easy to use. I just plugged it in, the TV recognized it right away and we were able to Skype with no problems. If you have an LG smart tv, I highly recommend get this camera to Skype through the TV. I have tried other video cameras for my TV and this one has worked the best so far. I love LG products and will stick with them for anything. I like the LG because you pretty much have to have LG products for the other LG products that you have.

As a user who lives and works on the Internet, being able to use Skype on my TV is a very useful tool. The camera works flawlessly for communicating with family and friends. I am now working on getting the "motion" function of my LG Smart Tv to also work with the camera. This is my first experience with LG products and I couldn't be more pleased. No need to look elsewhere for electronics.

I bought a smart lg tv and waited about a year before buying the tv camera so we could all sit in the living room and talk to out of town relatives. Well on christmas we set up our Skype and called the family. Not sure if it was because of the holiday but we kept freezing up and ended up going to the computer and face timing and it was much more clearer on FaceTime then on the tv. but is was fun to see on the big screen tv. Wish it worked like FaceTime and not just on a Skype acct. overall its fun to have, not sure how much use it will get.

I just had to do a write up on this video camera, because it is a Outstanding product that compliments the TV along with its smart feature. The camera was very easy to install, fired up the TV and followed all the steps as shown, Bingo we had Skype connections along with sound. we did a couple of dry runs with it with our other computers in our home and then made some long distance Skype calls to Georgia and Arizona. The connections and sound matched the timing of the words spoke by the Skype contacts....no delays and picture quality was again Outstanding. The cost of the camera was worth every penny in our eyes. I end up using it with my computer as it's not compatible with LG Blue-ray as I was told by LG sellers. Picture and sound is great and I recommend it for LG smart TVs.

My brother and I bought this camera for my mom to use with our LG Smart TV. I am in the US Virgin Islands right now and my brother is going to Madrid. We thought it would be cool for my mom to be able to skype us from the TV. The camera seemed to work well during our test run skyping each other around the house. We'll see how it works for communicating from abroad!
