This rewriter is terrible. Errors reported reading discs that my Pioneer rewriter has no problems with. LG makes poor products.

Don't Buy !

Once I updated from Windows 10 to Windows 11 it stopped reading any disk, shows up as a driver issue and LG hasn't brought out any update to fix this, and I don't believe they will.
Most of their products are having the same issue.

Won't work on Windows 11.

Blue ray player wouldn?t play new blue ray disks, looked on LG site was advised to update the firmware, followed the instructions to the letter, got confirmation that it was successful. Rebooted my machine now the drive doesn?t recognise any disks at all.

Firmware broke my device

My 2nd one and like before, they all go bad after one year.
I like LG, but I think they have drop the quality.
I use only Blue ray, well this one when bad and only reads CD and DVDs
but can work with any Blue Ray,  make look for another brand.

Dont last

Direct replacement for an old failed DVD drive. Newer technology, faster and quieter. Installation was a breeze and everything functioned flawlessly for me. Outstanding product.

Super Value for the Price

This " Blu-Ray" drive states the it is M-Disc compatible!
On the front of the drive there is an M-Disc logo! What it doesn't say is that it only supports M-Disc DVDs.Not M-Disc Blu Ray discs!!
Why on earth would you make a drive like this? This has been a horrible experience! Now I have to take my computer apart again and make another trip to the store!!! I certainly will not buy an LG drive!!

False Advertising!!

Have used this to backup my bought Blu-ray disc and CDs. With MakeMKV I can rip my Blu-ray discs in about 20 minutes and with a 33 GB output file. The drive is very quiet in operation and seems to work well. I've not actually burned any discs with it yet, but will start backing up my photos at some point, and it's good to know that the M discs should last longer than standard Blu-rays.

Good for ripping

I bought it to crate a "permanent" archive of my files. All I got is 2 unusable BD M-Discs. One even ruined physically. It also had very poor reading perfornce. Since it was totally worthless for me.. I returned it as in warranty (and added the 2 unusable discs as proof. They checked it and said that "There is nothing wrong with this drive". Not to mention that your support staff don't even recognize it as a LG drive. This was the second LG drive I bought... and surelly is the last.

Worst drive ever

I bought LG BH16NS Blu ray and DVD burner some months ago. Now that I need to make a Video DVD, I realise that the software provided for burneing (Power producer 5.5.) does not accept mpeg4 format. And it keeps prompting me to buz the 6.0 version. Mpeg4 is a basic format. I bought the burner so I could make video DVDs of my works when required. It is quite frustrating. Would anyone know how to get around this nonsense?  LG must provide appropriate softwares with the burner ar very  clearly speel out that one has to buy softwares separately.  I feel cheated.  Will appreciate if LG can provide me the neccesary software to operate it.

Frustratingly inferior software bundle

I bought this BR for writing DVDs and BRs as well.
It's so frustrating that after upgrading to windows 8.1 (from 7) and now 10 I have an expensive reader, cause it can not write under these OSes.
Unit needs an urgent firmware update

Does not write to Windows 8.1/10 64bit

I purchased one of these drives 8 months back for my Windows desktop and since then I have burned over 125 plus BluRay discs for my photography business. Its perfect every single time and no coasters.

So when time came to add an external BluRay burner to my iMac I went and bought another one of the LG BluRay burner and paired it with Vantec NexStar DX External USB 3.0 Enclosure. iMac recognized this drive with no issue, works perfectly with PlexDisc 6x Blu-ray every single time.

I downloaded the update for this product and after I did when I opened the program and tried to update it would do nothing. So I uninstalled and reinstalled and it did the same thing. So I guess if there are any updates for this product than I will not be able to download it.

Cant download program from LG

I installed this in my DELL XPS8700 that had a spare drive bay. Installation of the drive was easy, although I did have a problem with the door on the computer. It wouldn't open to allow access to the drive tray. After a slight adjustment of the drive in the bay, everything works as it should. This drive is FAST! Quiet too! Drivers installed after I booted up and installed the included software. I burned a BluRay disc shortly after I installed the drive and it took it less than 45 minutes to write 22Gb of data.
I'd highly recommend this drive to anyone looking to either upgrade or replace an older drive.

All I did was plug it into my desktop.And it was off to the races. Good performance,with good results.

This product peforms flawlessly.

I installed in my gaming desktop (Alienware Aurora) and it works beautifully. no hang ups, burn quickly with quality.

LG BluRay writer

Stayed with a winner when I needed to upgrade a failing drive. LG BD burner is exactly what I was looking for when balancing value and price.

Great product!

The drive installed easily with no problems, and has been easy to use. It included several programs, a player, data disc creator, adviser, label printer. It did not come with a video editing program, but worked perfectly with the one I already had. I was able to create (burn) several Blu Ray discs with no problems, which all worked in a standard Blu Ray player. All in all, an excellent drive so far.

Excellent Blu-ray Disc Writer

No problem in installation. Works great with app software provided Cyberlink.

Functions great on HD Blue-Ray

Installation was very easy. No problems encountered.
Plays a broad variety of formats. Burns Blu-ray and regular DVD's using my Corel Video Studio Pro X6
software.
I have only had it for about a month but so far so good.

Works as advertised

I loaded this drive and installed all the drivers it came with - but it would not play a lionsgate bluray disc. I went to the website and a search for the drive turned up nothing - REALLY? No drivers on the company website!!!

I'm taking it back to TigerDirect....

Too new to work

Purchase this one for my new gaming pc, play all my high end games with no problem what so ever. Easy to install, quiet, nice design and the quality awesome will recommended to my body's.

Internal 16X Blu-Ray DVD Writter

This product is capable of handling more than the software that came with it. It has Great response and shows the most beautiful blue ray picture I have ever saw. It makes me want to upgrade my monitor to 3D.

Outstanding

I am very pleased with this drive. The drive operates very quiet and smoothly. It recognizes and reads discs very quickly. The drive does a great job writing to discs. All data and audio discs are very accurately written and the quality is excellent. DVD writing is excellent and actually quicker than I was anticipating. I am very happy with this purchase.

Great Performance

The majority of my existing CD and DVD disc cannot load.
All my existing disc loaded on my old LG DVD burner.
The majority of disc I give up and eventually ejected the disc after a long time of the BH16NS40 trying to load it. The new LG firmware did not fix the problem either.
LG have to fix these bugs.

fantastic product

Seriously high capacity. Works like any other cd/dvd. Haven't had a chance to back up my system, but the blue ray player is sweet.

Tough as nails

I tested it with a lot of supports: never a fail, fantastic for CD, DVD and BD recording, very quiet in writing, it has been recognized by W7 in a flash.
I'm very satisfied and it has a good "aestetic" design too.

The "Perfect recorder"!

This is very useful I can burn cd's dvd's and blu rays all on one product and Play 3d blu ray movies.
