Was great until burn-in, and LG refused to help with a panel replacement. Oh well.

I bought this TV 9-24-2017 (OLED55C6P) for thousands and got a 5 year warranty from CPS. It is experiencing burn-in and I've never left it on with a static image on it, or at all when it wasn't being watched/used. On Jan 16 I contacted LG to see what they'd say about it (via chat) and sent a pic. An agent told me that LG would schedule a 1 time courtesy repair and I should call CPS to schedule it. I called CPS and they said I had to schedule through LG so I got on chat again. I was then told that yes, I would get the repair but CPS would be calling me in 3-5 days. That time has gone by so I inquired today via chat. Today (1-25-24) another agent says there is no way LG will repair my TV without a charge, contradicting what I was told twice on chat on Jan 16. This agent today said "well it might have been a new employee who told you that they'd repair it free" ... so their agents aren't trained? That is THEIR responsibility. They can't be making such promises to customers and then not stand behind them, at least not if they want any kind of decent reputation. This TV should not have had this burn-in already, and I would be angry about that but now I am even more irate that I was told it would be fixed and now being told it won't. DO NOT BUY LG products !

I bought this TV 5 years ago and it still works perfectly, with one exception- LG has stopped providing firmware updates for this TV. So, the WebOS software is out of date, which means most streaming apps no longer work. Netflix, Disney +, HBO Max - theses apps no longer work on this TV. How is it that a company stops producing software updates for a TV that is still relevant in today?s market? This is an OLED 4K smart TV. It?s not like we?re asking for updates for an old plasma TV or an older LCD TV. I called LG support and got the run around. Their out-sourced customer support person had no clue what they were talking about. He kept telling me that I just needed to update my firmware after I told him multiple times that the TV wouldn?t update because I had the latest version. This was also confirmed directly from LG?s website.

I purchased this television 5 years ago when I started college. I am a disabled VET. 2 years ago the screen was replaced due to burn in. Then they came out and replaced it with the same screen instead of a non 3d curved screen. People hate glasses and oled can't produced enough light especially back then to properly appreciate 3d. WIth that said LG is the BEST hands down. They are the best.... I recently got released from the hospital and I noticed burn in from a device I didn't even own. So, in my opinion the sceen was replaced with a another defective screen which would make the 1 year warranty null and void. This is fair business and anything else is just inhuman. In this day and age with COVID and the Ukraine as a VET and survivor of 03 in Iraq I have a unique perspective on the world. It was a job to me in the military and I did my best and survived and left no soldier behind or person ever in my life. FAIR IS FAIR AND RIGHT IS RIGHT... PERIOD. Warranties shouldn't affect the best product you can purchase.....

We love the outstanding resolution and color vibrancy of our LG OLED HDR TV. Our family loves 3D movies, and the passive glasses technology means the audience can include friends as well just by handing out extra inexpensive glasses. This performance rates 5 stars plus. However, after several years of use, the screen has some burned in ghosts that can be seen primarily on red background. For instance, we watch CNN ~1 Hr/day typically. The CNN logo and "Breaking News" ghosts are now a permanent part of any red hued background. For this reason, we have reduced our rating by 1 star. I would gladly buy another LG to replace this TV, BUT no new TV's seem to be 3D capable. Sadly we'll just live with the degraded performance until 3D capable TV's return or we or this TV dies... Also on very rare occasions, the picture will come up as all colored snow necessitating turning the TV off then on again to reset "something". Always works great after such resets.

The color has gone out - in the middle of the screen anything that should be yellow is lime green. When we first purchased the TV the colors were beautiful. We have contacted LG for assistance and were given the name of a service center. When we called, they told us they only repair refrigerators.

Bought two OLED TV?s few years ago and one of the two same models only difference is size will not catch live tv on Hulu. The explanation was its Hulu?s fault unexcitable answer especially when the other one works!

Purchased 4 years and 11 months ago. Screen went bad at about 4 months ago. LG has known about this problem for a long time. LG should extend warranty to at least 5 years or more.

Great picture quality unmatched . 3d movies you won't get a better quality 3d image any where else on any other television. Due to it being 4k & 3d and it being passive 3d on regular LED you get ghosting on OLED next to none and unlike LED/LCD Televisions that split the resolution in half per eye. Which is Half the vertical resolution: 1920x540. With a 4k television you get full 1080 each eye so not only does it eliminate ghosting almost completely but you get the best image quality possible in 3d and I have compared none come close to the C6 for 3d or 4k for that matter. 4k images are snappy, clean ,sharp and video is smooth as can be. While Standard broadcast or DVD 320x240, 640x480 resolution can be tricky requires constant stretching so you play with your settings or ratio constantly just to avoid burn-in. With that said I still got burn-in never left static images on rarely played video games and after the 3rd year burn-in became noticeable. I contacted LG they led me to believe they were going to help me by repairing the burn-in issue. Only to pass me off to someone on phone to tell me since I paid for a open box I don't get any help. That is rough I bought it new had 0 hours on it was just open so I got left with nasty screen burnt images on my $2k TV. We aren't rich people we were expecting years of quality television and thought top care from LG. This wasn't the case. So expect great quality but screen burn-in is real and if you bough one of their products open box even if unused you are eating it.

I bought the TV with wonderful reviews and pic but got issue with shadows and not able to contact LG headquarter quickly. After many tries, I got an email to go to a local tv repair. TOO DISAPPOINTED to bother getting another TV from LG

I bought this about 4 years ago it was nice when I had it for the first 2 years but after that the picture quality went down. Ghost images showed up and screen retention occurred. Payed way to much for it not to last longer.

I got 3 great years of superb color and contrast unfortunately this last year has seen the significant onset of OLED burn in due to the non-stop logos and banners of numerous channels. FCC should not allow this continuous display that ruins the screen. Working with LG now to resolve. Mayb3 switch to nano cell.

I bought this TV about 3 years ago when passive 3D coincided with 4K OLED and made this TV the perfect 3D TV. Unfortunately is started suffering from burn-in well over a year ago and has been getting increasingly worse. LG gave me the opportunity to replace the OLED panel, but unfortunately it would be a 2D panel, since 3D technology was abandoned(mistake. I have many 3D DVD's and don't want to lose the ability to watch them in 3D. But, since the burn-in is getting so bad, I will be forced to buy another TV soon. I would love for it to be an OLED, but no way until the display problems are resolved. Although OLED is the absolute best picture, It is much to expensive to be a short term TV.

I purchased this TV several years ago and it is still providing fantastic picture. It has not needed service and I look forward to more years of great viewing.

Limited ability to add Apps because my four year old OLED TV operating system is out dated and can not handle new Apps on the market

I've had two of these sets and on each I have experienced a problem of having a burned in image on the panel. On the first time I exchanged the set. The second time LG changed the panel for me which i appreciated but in less than 10 months it happened again. The last time LG said they would not do anything to fix it again and told me I should not watch TV for more than 3 hours or It causes a problem. So if you are buying a set to watch movies, golf or sports buy something else. If you are just going to watch short videos or commercials then the picture on this one is great until an image gets burned into the panel.

Purchased when it first available. The curved screen makes a difference when viewing gives more dimenension to screen content. Wish they still sold it for current models. Only issue was burn-in for this year and model. Yes it is real issue it did happen to me. But still purchased afterwards a LG OLED C9 model so it's best picture for my viewing.

If you are a gamer there is no better TV. If having a great picture isn't enough, then you'll love seeing things on your screen before your teammates when playing online. Awesome product!

The TV shows excellent pictures and great sound. The 3d quality of the TV is also great. The design and styling is outstanding, showing the premium quality of the TV. LG always give us very nice interface which is very userfriendly. The only major issue in the TV is OLED burnins for which the current TV is succeptable with. Burn in is a common issue with all OLEDs which LG seems to be getting fix in newer versions. It is always better to take Service plans if you are going for OLED TV. If you look for Quality viewing experiance (which is uncomparable with any other technology , go for OLED, with a service plan to out out the Burnin issue.
