The 6x is a great, simple light. It's bright, pretty color accurate and very light. The history of Astras though is checkered with problems with issues with the switch failing. Whatever you do, when powering an Astra, make sure it is dimmed completely before striking and dim it back down when shutting off. Trust me, it's worth you not shipping the light to Vitec to fix after the warranty expires.

I've already used and rented it out on several shoots three weeks since buying it. This thing is a powerhouse: equal intensity regardless of color temperature, jump between AC and D Tap quickly and efficiently, and light enough to sling on your back on a fast-paced shoot. I cannot say enough for this light. I've loved it since first shooting with it in 2018.

The lights are awesome, but I misunderstood the offer. I assumed the two light kit with two stands came with two Bluetooth modules, but for some silly reason it only came with one Bluetooth module. I feel it is sort of deceptive how they list it to seem that both lights have Bluetooth capability. Just be warmed it is only one Bluetooth module.

I guess I misunderstood what I was getting because it is a bit misleading. I thought I was getting two Astras with stands and Bluetooth modules. However, upon receipt I realize it only includes one Bluetooth module, which seems silly to send one module for a two light kit. Ugh! I love the lights, but I am disappointed they didn’t both come with BT Modules.

These are great lights...color is correct and variable. Great power out of such small lights. I only wish a few things came standard, like battery adapters and diffusion options. Seems like they could onclude some of this when paying premium light rates.

The Astras are great when you first get them, but they completely fail for no reason after mild, ordinary use. Mine have been stored in a pelican case and taken care of extremely well, but they continue to have issues. One flickers really bad, and another has completely crapped out. Gaffer friends here in NC have the same issues. The issue really needs to be addressed and repaired under a recall.

Yeah, they're more expensive, but they're the best. They're workhorses that won't let you down on set. These are the most flexible lights out there. Powerful and color-accurate. Just make sure you have good batteries to power them.

The color rendition on these are very good. Much better than the 4x Astra lights(less greens). They do seem about as bright as a 400 Joker but without the throw. Never get hot either. These are great as a quick portable to light your scenes. I use a few of these when I need to move quickly and move lights around. I believe for what you get out them they provide quite a bit of value.
