Questions & Answers

Shopper : Are the dividers movable?HUY L : Yes, they are. By the way, this backpack was my second one and I really love it.ROBERT W : We bought this pack a few years ago, so things may have changed in the meantime, but yes, the dividers are moveable.FADI Y : Yes There are ! RANDY K : Yes, adjusts very easy. PREMKUMAR R : YrsANN R : Yes, I have changed several to accommodate other size equipment and cameras. The backpack has been used many, many times and keeps its new look yet.MARK N : Yes they are and you can customize it how ever you like. This is my travel bag and its perfect for my travels. When i travel i normally have a 5dmk2, 580ex2, 16-35mm, 24-70, batteries, extra cf, mini camcorder, chargers, s100, and and ipad. It fits underneath air plane seats. I wish it was about an inch or two deeper but overall this is a great product. (of course this is my 4th bag) hope this helps. -imaNVICTOR P : Yes they are....Kent H : Yes, the dividers are movable.
PATRICIA K : Would this bag carry a Canon 7D with a Tamron 150-600mm lens with hood reversed attached? I don't need room for any other lenses, since this would just be my bag for this combo while I'm out shooting.DAVID S : The Lowepro Flipside 300 camera bag is an excellent choice, I pack my 5D Mark II with a 70-200mm Canon lens (reversed lens hood) attached. I also pack a Canon 28-135mm lens and my Canon 580EXII flash and with a dome for the flash, sync cord, small camera books, batteries & charger. I use my Lowepro Flipside 200 when shooting quick jobs, I pack the 5D Mark II with either lens in this bag.GREG G : I am not sure about your kit, but I get a Nikon D90 with power grip and a 70-300 FX lens attached in with no problems. The bag is really great, it is one of two Lowe Pros that I have. You cannot go wrong with any of their stuff as far as quality goes. I hope this helps.ERIK L : .works with our Canon 7D and a canon 70-200 2.8 L lens with the hood reversed. Not sure what length your tamron lens is but maybe you can compare length on lineED C : It should fit just fine, my wife loves this bagTOBIAS L : It'd be a very tight fit. I have a Nikon D40, about the same depth as your body, and a Nikon 17-55mm that I keep attached, hood reversed. I probably have three to four inches to spare between the front of the lens and the bottom of the bag. From looking at the specs, the Tamron is ~10 inches long while the Nikon 17-55mm is only ~4.5 inches long. If it fit, it'd be a perfectly snug fit. Depends on if you're willing to go through returning it if it's just too tight or not.KASRA T : I have my 60D with my 100-400 attached and and 24-105 sitting there as well. Not sure how much longer your lens is but I'm sure you'll be fine. To be 1000% I would call the store and ask also. Good luckHARVEY B : I do think it will but I'm not sure of the total length of this new tamarin lens. It doesn't allow me to carry my DSLR and a 80 to 200 long lens with the hood reversed. JULIE S : On the top of the bag there is a pouch that you can remove. It's attached with velcro. I believe you'd have to remove it and your rig will fit in there great. You can add the pouch down on the side if you need a secure area for smaller things. I use my backpack for location shoots. I have a full body camera and a canon 70-200 f/2.8 attached (hood backwards) and it fits perfect with the pouch attached up top. Pouch in you have about 12 inches of space fr top to bottom. Pouch out you'll have a bit over 16 inches top to bottom. Hope that makes sense.
Shopper : Is this large enought to carry a DSLR with a Sigma 150-500 lens attached?Kent H : Yes, I had a 500mm tamron on my dslr and it would fit with room to spare. SHADD L : Should be fine - everything is adjustable w/ Velcro "walls.". It is nearly 5 inches deep - front to back. HTHRICHARD C : I believe it should fit just fine. The bottom of the accesory pouch to the bottom of the bag (taking out the dividers) is 11 5/8". There should be plenty of room if you remove the accesory pouchDON B : how long is the 150-500? I put a d7000 with an 18-200 in with PLENTY of room. you could also take out the top pouch for even more room.ANN R : The Flipside 300 is an excellent backpack. I am able to leave my Nikon VR 70-300 lens attached to the camera between shots in the field. The sun shade is also attached.GREGORY M : Actually I have that sigma lens (150-500) for my nikon d7000.you can carry the lens attached to the camera without the accessory pouch. The hood will have to be inverted to fit, but you can still carry a smaller (50mm) lens, and flash.ROBERT S : The bag is very spacious and will carry the DSLR with the 150-500 attached. In addition, it will also carry at least one additional lens (possibly 2). The pouch at the top of the bag (interior) is capable of holding extra batteries, charges, cards, and readers. I carry a DSLR with a 24-120 lens, plus a 70-300mm lens, and a 12-24mm, along with a medium flash, GPS, and a Point-Shoot too. The straps are comfortable and the hand loops are very sturdy.

Very good bag, just didn't meet my needs

I actually had to return this, but not due to any defect. It was just too small for my needs. This bag would have been perfect a few months ago, but adding another lens and a range of filters tipped the scale - otherwise, I would have been happy to use this.

Great for travel once you're used to it.

I bought this bag and at first wasn't too thrilled with it. It seemed easier to use a regular bag over the shoulder. But after I spent 7 weeks traveling and sailing around the Mediterranean and 3 weeks in Italy, I really liked it for the security and even weight distribution. Great for walking all day--sometimes 8 miles or so--and I was 67 when I did that.

Great backpack

I love this bag. I took it to Colorado last week, along with my sigma 150-600c as well as another wide angle and pancake lens. They fit pretty snug, which is what I wanted and it protected everything well, even in the rain one day. It also held my spare battery and memory card, as well as a monopod. Very pleased !

Great bag for outdoors/sports shooters

A great backpack to use when fast lens changes, etc are a must. Spin it around, unzip it and you're good to go.

Excellent Backpack for Photography

This is a good quality, well designed backpack specifically customized for camera gear. There is also room for a water bottle and some personal items and therefore serves well as a daypack.

A Good Day Pack By Lowepro

I have bought three Lowepro bags for different situations. IMHO, Lowepro bags are top notch in quality. I use this bag for day trips. My Canon 60D w/70-200mm lense fits inside with ease. Bag is very light and easily slings over the shoulder. The bag itself provides very good protection.

Solid construction

This is a well-built pack, with just enough room for my D750, and 70-200mm, 50 mm, and 16-34mm lenses. I like the ability to strap a light tripod to the pack. All in all decent value.

Small pack, but just the right size

It seemed small when it came, but it is light and seems to have enough space in it. I do wish it had a larger sleeve or section where my iPad would fit.

Well designed bag.

I have used the LowePro Slingshot bags in the past, and found them to be perfectly adequate, but this bag's design is ideal for the shooter that likes to frequently change lenses in the field. The "flipside" design gives you a stable platform for changing out lenses and other gear with confidence that you wont have an expensive slip or drop. Recommended.

Great Camera Bag!

First of all, I would always get a Lowepro camera bag because of their reputation. Just like all their other bags, it is made really well. I just got the Nikon D500 and the 24-70 VR f/2.8 lens, and this is the bag I carry them in - fits perfectly and I know they are well protected - highly recommend this bag!

Good concept

I just bought this back pack and immediately liked the concept of being able to use as a "field desk" - the ability of using the waist strap to turn the back pack into a work desk to change lenses or perform any other task that requires more than two hands... However, to my dismay, the cloth on the side of the back back ripped with no reason in what looks like a defective material. additionally, the chest strap completely disappeared when i went looking to attach for a walk. Not sure if i should attribute these flaws to bad luck or poor craftsmanship.

Great Product

This is a replacement. Vermin attacked the zipper, but had had such good luck with it that I ordered again. Great for traveling since opening is against your back. When I don't need to take the big bag (Flipside 400 -- able to fit a 17-inch laptopm though very snugly), love this one.

for Travel

When I traveled, I took too much gear. I always used the same few items. So, I purchased a bag that would handle the gear I used when I traveled. And I needed something small I could carry. This fits me perfect.

Great Quality Bag

Great quality bag. On the smaller side but that's a good thing if you're looking for a smaller backpack style camera bag. Opens from the side that rests on your back which gives you a more secure feeling. Quality materials and build.

Great bag for Hobbyist

This is my first real camera bag and I absolutely love it! All my equipment easily fits in it, but if you are a (semi) pro and use more than one camera body or more than 2 lenses you do need a bigger one.

works great, but my tripod flops around with just that one band so I use an elastic band to hold the bottom of the tripod; then it works great

Nice bag, does the job!

I like the backpack a lot. It's exactly what I was looking for. I agree with other reviewers that if you're looking for something you can haul your lunch in or something along with your gear, this probably isn't it. It's not ideal for some of my scenarios--- making frequent lens changes, for which I still prefer a sling bag, but it's great for securely carrying my gear and keeping it out of my way when I need two hands.

Small, rugged bag

Quite narrow, with barely enough room to hold a Canon 6D with one lens and a few accessories. Nice, but small, and a bit awkward getting the camera in and out. This is my third Lowepro, and the one I like least.

Small, compact, and secure

When I was looking for a bag I was looking for something small, compact, but also secure. This easy fits a camera plus 2-3 lenses, some extra items you might need in a secured zipper area, and a spot to put my tripod. One of the BEST features though is that when this backpack is on your back, there is no way anyone is getting into it. This is the perfect backpack for traveling and avoiding pickpockets. You'll have to take it off to get your gear inside, but coupled with a sling it or even your camera on your neck, it's the perfect travel pack as well.

The Perfect Size Bag

The Lowepro Flipside 300 fits my Sony 77 m2 with the vertical grip attached with no problem - it's not even a tight fit - just right. I like the security of the bag. When wearing it, the zipper that opens the bag is right up against your back. And you can take the bag around to your front without taking it off. The waist strap holds it horizontally while you open the bag and access your stuff. Never have to put it down on the ground. The only thing missing is a rain cover, but supposedly any rain would just roll off, because of the material used and/or waterproof coating. You can always pack a plastic bag in case of a deluge. It has plenty of dividers inside so everything I would take fits fine. It has one mesh on the side that could hold a large water/drink bottle (24 oz? - 20 oz fit easily). The bag is very comfortable. Overall a great backpack.
