Great camera backpack.
I've always been a fan of lowepro and this backpack lives up to their name. Plenty of space for my camera equipment, and my only gripe is that the waist pads are rather bulky. My 68L backpacking bag has thinner pads, but oh well. It's still a great bag.

Happy, with one modification.
Another good product by Lowepro! I found one fault that required a modification that helped keep the body of the pack in position when flipped and unzipped: I attached an adjustable camera sling to the upper side straps of the bag, that I could then place behind my neck. This stopped the fully loaded bag from toppling forward when open.

Absolutely fantastic bag! I hike with it with a bottle of water or 2 and my tripod and a nikon D 5300 with 2 different longer lenses in the bag and and that leaves a lot of Room for accessories. I hike in to some pretty extreme places with it and it is comfortable, durable and you can rearrange the inside compartments pretty much however you would like. This bag is money well spent if you are moving around with your camera or video equipment

First Time Backpacker
I'm 72, disabled and have never used a backpack before, however, I'm really surprised how comfortable this Flipside 400 AW II is. The weight is distributed quite well and sets atop my hips and doesn't bother my back too much. My son did helped me arrange it for weight distribution. It accommodates my 120-400mm Sigma no problem, several lenses, plus a lot of everything else. I'd rate this item a 5, but, with too much weight you really can't flip it around as it will want to drop down. Squatting down helps alleviate this issue. All in all, I'd recommend the Lowepro 400 AW II to anyone. A younger person could expect this backpack to last them a long while.

A good amount of space for the photo gear, comes up short on the laptop though.
Have used different Lowepro packs in the past. Always liked them for their durability and value. This one is no different. The only bit of disappointment was the fact that when I load my full frame body, a few lenses and flashes, the back won't close when I put my 15" laptop in the sleeve. Wishing I went with a larger size, but I'll make due.

Highly recommended
Very good buy. Best part of the bag is, the way it can be swivelled around and opened from rear side. We can change the lenses without having to keep our equipment on floor or a table. the bag acts as one.

Great backpack. Very versatile. Fills all my needs.
This is my everyday use backpack, whether for day shooting, vacation and travel, or special occasions. This pack is very comfortable with plenty of adjustments. The pack allows for numerous configurations to accommodate a good variety and size of lenses, speedlites, batteries, and anything else that is needed. The one improvement I would like to see is the addition of a removable waist belt. There are definitely times when I need the waist belt when on a day hike, but there are also times where I need to remove it for quick removal and storage such as when going through airport security and storing under an airline seat. Making it removable and storable in the pack would definitely improve the best pack on the market.
