I like the size not to big and bulky, well thought out. Fits my Nikon SLR and some accessories just fine. I like the fact that it doesn't look like a camera bag or a big bulky backpack, I feel like I will be more likely to take the SLR with me now.

I bought myself the Lowepro Fastpack 100 to use for a 4 week trip through Europe and found it very practical. It was small enough to be allowed in Museums (even the Vatican when everyone else was asked to check their backpacks). When in large crowds I wasn't bumping into everyone, and if I felt the need to keep my camera a bit more secure, I swung the bag around while keeping one shoulder strap on, and tucked the backpack under my arm. It was also light enough to carry the bag down at my side from the top handle strap down when getting in those very small European elevators. There was just enough room in the upper compartment for a light jacket, my sunglass case, and a several small essentials. It was very easy to swing the bag around and grab my camera when I wanted to get a quick shot without slowing down our group. Now that I have this bag I no longer think twice about taking my DSLR along to amusement parks, it is comfortable to carry all day long. When I first bought my Lowepro Fastpack 100 I had planned to give the backpack to my son after my Europe trip, but, I found that I loved it so much that instead I bought him one for Christmas!

My second review. Realized what was missing from this bag I needed enough to get a different bag. I've owned Slingshot 100 and 200 but wanted 2 straps to ease the load of the ever growing gear. I tried the Kata 3n1-10, it was shoddy material and construction. Got the Fastpack 100. Fit the Xsi, 17-55 f/2.8, 100 f/2.8, flash and accessory pack (from my LowePro DryZone) just fine. BUT I really need a tripod holder (slick 613 carbon fiber with Manfrotto 4160 ballhead) a nice grab handle and a sternum strap. For me. The side access to the camera in the FastPack is not worth foregoing the other needs. This pack has done okay as an all around bag. I would NOT use it for extended hikes. For that I use my LOWEPRO Primus a great hybrid daypack and camera bag. Also the gear mentioned above is the MAX the FastPack 100 will carry. I'm getting the Flipside 300 (grab handle, tripod/monopod holder, and more room for a longer lens—I'm getting the 100-400L). For someone who doesn't carry a lot of lenses and doesn't need a tripod holder or grab handle or the stability of a sternum strap then this would be the bag for you. It beats KATA 3n1-10 hands down. Lowepro is a top notch company w/well thought bag design.

Bought this for a vacation adventure and it worked out just fine.I was in museums and some pretty tight places and didn't hit anybody and was able to access my camera with no problem.I'm thinking about up-grading to a bigger one soon.

Intended use: As a smaller bag to transport my gear inside my larger multi-day camping bag. Then to transport gear away from camp on hikes. Also as my all around bag for around town. ======= PROS ======= • 2 straps are stable and comfortable • Quick access to camera • Okay access to setup (Rebel Xti with battery grip and attached 17-55mm f/2.8) ======= CONS ======= • Could use 2-3 sliplock attachment loops • Could use integrated all weather cover ======= VERDICT ======= I returned a KATA 3n1-10 for the Fast Pack. I used to own the Slingshot 100 AW and then the Slingshot 200 AW. Did not like those because after hiking/walking 3-4 hours the single strap starts to wear on one shoulder. I still wanted a compact bag that provided quick access to the camera but 2 straps to stabilize the load and equallly distribute weight. Considered the Flip-side, but it is not easy to flip it off of your back and then around the front to access the camera. The Fast Pack fits a Rebel xsi w/attached 17-55mm f/2.8 w/attached hood and batter grip. Along with a 100mm f/2.8 macro in a secondary compartment in the main camera compartment. It does not have an all weather cover. I purchased a waterproof nylon bag to stow away in a pocket when needed. It does not have an integrated tripod holder (neither did the Slingshot 100 or 200). I improvise by using the side mesh water bottle pocket to hold the legs and then slashing the ballhead to around the top of the bag. It works. But would have been nice to include at least 1 sliplock loop to slide a tripod leg through. All in all. It works fine and fits well into my larger multi-day camping pack. I'm ready to take the FastPack from base camp to side shoots. Again, add an all weather cover, some sliplock attachment loops and a tripod holder and I would have given it a perfect. In the future I plan to add a 70-200mm f/2.8 L. My hope is to be able to remove the secondary divider in the main camera compartment. If it does not work I'll consider moving up to the Fast Pack 200 or 250.
