It is a snug fit but I can get a Canon 6D with a battery grip and a 28-105 f/4 lens, a 100-300mm zoom and a Speedlight in the bag along with assorted filters and gadgets. My iPad fits nicely in the pocket on the back and I can get out the camera without rooming the backpack from my back. This would be a really good bag for someone with a smaller camera body and it is really nice that it comes in a color other than black.

Great pack for the money and will protect your camera and accessories! Bought this backpack for travel to China 3 years ago and work great to haul my selected gear all over China! Worth the money!

Large area for my camera, a Pentax K7 with grip and DA 50-135 Lens (with lens hood on) fits with extra room on both sides of camera. I made a soft but thick cushion (1 1/2"x 4") to support the grip with camera lying on its' left side and the bag in the upright position. One thing LOWEPRO should consider modifying is: the position of the accessories and notebook zipper, as they are in the up right position when zipped closed and tend to loosen by unzipping downward. Sew them with the zipper in the down closed position. I have added an extra strip of nylon sewed around the carry handle to make it more comfortable. Also sewed two plastic loops to the ends of the shoulder adjustment straps. This makes it easier-faster to grip with thumbs and pull the straps downward. There are bigger bags, but this one carries everything I need, my DA 17-70mm, prime FA 31mm and AF-540FGZ, 500Gb extenal HD, lens blower, defuser, color gels, memory case, four D-LI90 batteries, twelve rechargable AA Batteries, etc. It'll hold a lot of small stuff in the accessories area, such as cables, tripod mount, etc. There's even a smaller pouch area for manuals or lens filters. Honestlty, I'm glad I didn't order the 350.

Not sure about the waist strap It would be nice if one could remove it with some kind of snap or something

I purchased the Fastpack 250 specifically for an overseas trip. I was able to load up a 15.4 inch laptop/charger, a Rebel XS with the kit lens plus a 50mm/f1.8 and a 70-200mm/f4L and various batteries, rain covers, chargers, etc. And I still had room for a bag of munchies, a Zune and various other bits and pieces for traveling. It was comfortable to wear, allowed easy access to the gear and I was even able to strap a light tripod to the side of it using the 'water bottle' pocket for the base. Excellent gear at a very decent price. The only negative was that the 'belly band' is not removable - I didn't want or need it so I'm afraid it succumbed to an xacto knife - otherwise I would call this thing perfect!

Overall a very nice pack. It holds my D90 w/18-200, 50 mm, Sigma 10-20 and flash. It's comfortable to wear and I can access my DSLR quickly out of the side access. My only wish would be a tripod holder or at least a couple of loops to attach one to the outside or an extra water bottle.
