Questions & Answers

Lorena N : Would this fit a Nikon D90 DSLR camera?KOBI M : This bag will accommodate my D7100 with one lens mounted, however that is basically all it will hold in the main compartment. I mostly use it to carry another lens and cleaning kit, etc. while toting my camera over shoulder. Its not especially large but has a zippered document compartment and the option to fanny pack carry. The weather cover is an added benefit. Its not a long range bag in my opinion but will work for short hikes, etc. I have a larger Lowepro backpack (see below) for longer hikes with more lenses, clothing, lunch, etc. on board, so as stated this is the smaller short hike bag. I hope this answers your question.GAIL G : comfortably, along with a lens or twoC HENERY G : Yes. The partitions are attached with Velcro and can be adjusted to accomodate you camera and several lens.JEFFREY W : I can fit my Nikon d7200 with a a couple lenses so it should work for a d90 as well. I will say the bag is a bit larger and bulkier than I expected and I don't think the front accessory pouch is very well deigned as it's quite bulky and the gap intended to hold a jacket doesn't really work anyway. The bag is comfortable though. Well passed on The back.JASON B : Yes, I use mine with the larger D300 so a Nikon D90 will fit. Depending on the lens attached it you may need to remove some of the dividers to allow the camera and lens to fit horizontally instead of vertically.ERIK A. L : Yes, it will completely fit. I use it every time I go on vacation. I have a Nikon D800, it weighs 197 g more with a Tamron lense 28-75mm attached. Also I have four packed batteries, a microphone Rode, a tripod Carbon Fiber Benro, and a GoPro with a stick, and all the accessories you will need. I am not a professional photographer, but I like to capture family memories every time we travel. I have used the case more than four times and it is easy to pass through the TSA in the airport. It is also easy and fast to get the camera out and take a quick picture.PETE S : Yes. While it isn't huge, it'll fit a D90 with a lens or two, depending on their size, also.
Shopper : Would this fit a Canon 5d mk2 with 24-105 attached, in the vertical position? If yes, can I carry a flash & accessories with it?GAIL G : I have this product, currently it has a Nikon D3200 with a 18-200 lens attached vertically comfortably. It also will hold my other larger D7100 with the same lens. There would certainly be room for a flash, accessories and one smaller lens, but very snugly, depending the size. I am not familiar with the size of the Canon 5D or your flash unit, but based on the size of my old Nikon SB600, it should work. The pockets are a bit adjustable as well. I am happy with mine, but wish I had gotten a shoulder bag instead, as I have yet to wear this around my waist, and now think I am less likely to do so, might happen in the summer though, when I take both cameras out at same time. I need a larger backpack rig that will carry two loaded cameras plus lenses and accessories myself.D.S. O : Don't think it will fit vertically, it might fit on that side but would have to check. I know it won't fit with the battery grip. Would Verified and let you know but it will be next week before I can do it sorry I couldn't be more helpful now I have used it mainly to carry lenses and accessories but not the Body. ROBERT M : Vertical - meaning lens pointing down? I would say yes. I used this bag with a Nikon D800 and a 28-200 attached in the vertical position. You would still have room on either side of the lens for a flash and accessories. the 100AW is definitely too small. The bag is great. I used in on a 10-day hiking trip. Some things you should know: - The "waterproof" rain cover is basically like a shower cap. Although this fabric is indeed water proof, it lacks drainage holes on the bottom. So in the rain, the bottom part of the rain cover fills with water soaks the bottom half of the camera bag. The fix is to burn some holes with a soldering iron or sew some button holes in the bottom of the rain cover.KOBI M : I think it would fit the equipment you want to include as I am able to carry a D7100 Nikon with a 18-105 attached in the vertical position by adjusting the inserts so that it sits in the pack middle compartment with one extra pad beneath it for ex cushion, leaving a slot on each end, one for my 70-100 long lens and another slot for filters, etc. I would guess your flash would fit where I put my 70-300 lens and accessories where I put my filters (2) in cases? The internal compartment measurements are as follows looking at the pack from front, 3 compartments left to right: 1. filter area @ 1.75w x 4.75d(front to back) x 5h(top to bottom) 2. camera body with lens attached vertically (lens down) @ 5w x 4.75+d x 7.5+h 3. long lens compartment @ 3w x 4.75+d x 8h (a slim slot remains at hinge end for something thin) The pack is not huge and all equip fits snug, but I like that way...hope this helps!
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?GAIL G : I ourchased this after reading bag reviews. I wanted a hands free bag with a lot of room, as I also have another full camera bag for my shoulder, and both are full of gear. I should have bought a backpack large enough to hold all this stuff in one place, though, but this works nice if I am only taking one camera with me.Marco C : Because then, I did not own my 70-200 lens. Now I am thinking in upgrading this great Bag. I mean, is great.CHRIS L : I can add a Nikon D80 with 300mm lens , a Sony 5EX-5n with fish eye , and Samsung 210 pocket camera and cables. Plus my filters and cleaning cloths in the outside pouch. An AWESOME camera pack for a World traveler like myself

Good quality, hangs a little heavy on the hips

The quality of the bag is as you would expect from Lowepro very good. It is supplied with a shoulder strap which is pretty much needed if you put any kind of load in the bag. The bag is large enough to hold several pounds of equipment which would hang pretty heavy without an assist from the shoulder strap.

The dslr is comfortably in the bag!

Perfect for what i ask of it! I wanted a belt pack that would hold one dslr while I have another around my neck. This bag holds a Nikon 7200 with zoom or wide angle lens and a separate lens in the bag, while my 610 is around my neck. The bag is roomy but sinches down compactly and is very comfortable. There is a little forward drop down but with the shoulder strap in use, it works out very well. Can hold my wallet, cell phone and some other goodies if I want. It feels good and I wear it all the time. Made sturdy too, and a very reasonable price.

This bag is perfect if you need to have a backpack and you want to take your camera

This bag is perfect if you need to have a backpack and you want to take your camera. I live in South Carolina and it is extremely hot and when hiking up some of the mountains I use a camel back backpack with water but still wanted to take my camera. Normally I have a camera back pack. But this bag is perfect with the camel back.

Double zipper top loader

The bag is light weight, well padded, packs what I need for a shoot. I like the flexibility of using it on my shoulder or my hip. Would like it if there was a single pull to unzip both sides like it use to have.

Cumbersome

It's bulky and rigid. Too big for walking around. As others noted, it doesn't hold a snug position. That became irritating. Returning it.

Almost a great bag

Just got my bag a few days ago and loaded it up with my gear. I'd read the reviews prior to buying, and a common complaint was the sag and waist strap tension. Sure enough, the bag sags to some degree, but nothing that would stop me from buying the bag again. THe tension on the waist straps is another matter. Just attaching it around my waist has the straps loosening. But they're easy enough to snug down. I'm going to play around some and see if I can't change that some. Onto the good things about the bag. The construction is outstanding. I don't think there will be any problems using this in the field in tough conditions. The dividers are held in place with velcro that takes some muscle to move. The outer covering is durable and the zippers are sturdy. The only change I'm going to make is to place some piece of bright cord around the zipper handles. The bag is black and the zippers are black, and it's hard to see where they're at sometimes. But that's a "me" issue and not one with the bag.

Perfect for me.............

This bag had to have several required features. 1) a waist belt AND a shoulder strap. Done! It had to be big enough to carry a Canon 5dM3 with the 24-105 lens & hood (reversed) and a Canon EX 600RT flash unit and some extras. Done! I find it the right bag for me for this particular application.

My new favorite camera bag

Fits my purpose for having a camera and a couple lenses and accessories always ready to go. Quick access with the top zipper. Stabilizing straps on the sides. And most importantly, when wearing it around your waist, the shoulder strap allows you to quickly unbuckle the waist belt and turn the pack to your front for quick and easy access to everything without hanging on to the bag. The shoulder strap takes some of the weight off your hips or detach it completely if not needed. The water bottle pockets on the sides are pretty much useless for anything other than small items that are ok if they get compressed.

Nice Enough Beltpack

I've been using this belt pack for three weeks and find it quite usable. I use it for a Fujifilm X Pro-1, three lenses, a Nikon flash and associated filters. As some have mentioned the pack does tend to tilt out away from your back when loaded. This happens if I carry it too low on my hips. My solution is to raise it so it rides in the small of my back and cinch both the waist belt and the adjustment straps tight. It rides nicely even with a full load of gear and a full water bottle. When the adjustment strap is tight however it is hard to get the water bottle back into its sleave. The pack is typical Lowe high quality.

Not just built; it's engineered!

This rugged waist pack is awesome for day hikes or street cruzing, it's roomy and well-constructed with adjustable inner padded walls for custom configurations, no need to remove pack to access gear due to a full width top panel that opens with one move due to a very cool zipper pull design I didn't expect. It features extra zippered filter compartment, water bottle sleeves, cinch down straps and shoulder strap to offset weight for an extended hike; this baby has it all.

Bulky and possibly overbuilt

I purchased this bag along with the Lowepro Photorunner. Both are waist bags and both have similar internal dimensions. However the Inverse 100AW is much bulkier with it's larger overall dimensions and I found it more difficult to access gear than the Photorunner. I found the outside front pocket of the Inverse 100AW very difficult to use and not deep enough to carry much more than a smartphone. The bags were purchased for my rangefinder kit and I found the Photorunner superior in every way for this application. I believe it would also be superior to the Inverse 100AW for a small DSLR kit as well. The larger Inverse 200AW might be a better, albiet bulkier choice than the 100AW if your looking at the bag for a DSLR kit. My Lowepro bags are well made and reliable. However some designs are better than others. If you're also looking at the Photorunner because you want portability, I highly recommend you purchase both bags to make the right choice. If you have a DSLR kit with a bulky zoom and another lens, I recommend going straight to the Inverse 200AW as you will need the extra room anyway.

All weather cover needs improvement

The all weather cover lacks drainage holes. So, in a heavy rain, water will accumulate in the bottom of the cover, like a full diaper, and soak the bottom of the camera bag. I imagine a couple of well placed gromets would fix the issue. Otherwise, the pack works well for hiking, especially if you have to also carry a back pack. I agree with other reviewer, a loaded pack will tend to tilt away from your body. I used the shoulder stap to alleviate this issue.

Well constructed, but too small

I wanted a bag to carry a large DSLR (Nikon D300) and a spare lens (Tokina 11-16 zoom). Although the product literature shows a camera with room for a second lens, I found this configuration very tight. The Tokina is a wide angle lens, and with the hood it's 4" in diameter. In fact, I had to remove the hood just to be able to close the bag. I suppose if you have a smaller camera and a smaller 2nd lens, this bag would be fine. I ended up exchanging for the 200AW - the next size up.

High quality, but a bit too small

I bought this to carry a Nikon D300 plus a second lens. The second lens is a Tokina wide angle with a 77mm diameter. The camera fits nicely by itself and i suppose a smaller second lens would also fit, but the Tokina 11-16mm zoom barely fits without the sun shade. I'm going to exchange for the 200 AW.

Lowepro Inverse 100W Beltpack

I use this in the winter to hike. It is durable room enough for a short zoom lens and extra battery. I also pack snacks and a water bottle in outer pockets to keep hands free. Durable and holds up to the elements. Stays in place for the most part. I carry a Pentax K5.

Not bad, not great

Takes a while to make comfortable. Better than having shoulder straps while hiking. Difficult to spin around waist to access camera and lens.

Roomy but still not THE Beltpack bag

I purchased this pack to use while biking and hiking where I did not want the weight of my much larger camera backpack. It has room for my Canon EOS 50D with my favorite 24-105 mm zoom lens. I also carry my 10-22mm zoom in the side pocket. It turns out that is more than enough weight pulling at my waist so I don't fill the other pocket with anything else. More weight than this is uncomfortable for me. Hence I think the smaller version of this pack is probably the way to go. As I move about, I find that I must cinch the strap now and then. However when I do cinch the strap, the buckle often gives way and just pops open. So other than the plastic buckle, this is a good waist pack.

One thing wrong...

I really like my Lowepro Slingshot 200. But I wanted to get the weight of a big dslr and a couple of lenses (70-200 and 17-40) off my shoulders and on to my hips when I hike or hang around a venue for long periods of time. The Inverse 200 is everything you would expect from a Lowepro in terms of quality construction. The deal-breaker is, when you load the Inverse with the stuff I listed it sags and tilts away from your back. If they had made the strap tie in higher on the bag it might have worked but as is it leans out at about 30 degrees and the only part touching the body is the bottom edge. I'm returning it.

good travel bag

The bag is most useful when you need your hands free. It will hold my Nikon D80 with a lens attached and two other lenses and assorted acessories. You need to resist the impulse to load up to maximum because when the bag is heavy it tends to sag away from your waist. I find that I have to keep the belt tight in order to keep the bag comfortable on my waist. The straps tend to loosen when I am wearing it more than an hour or so, and then I have to re-adjust the waist strap. But I tend to carry too much stuff just in case I need it. If you buy the bag, plan on what you really need to carry for the day so that you can keep the bag as light as you can, and you should be ok. Its a great bag if you dont over load.

I would buy this bag again.

I've had this bag about a month and have found it very useful for my rebel xti, canon 70-200 f4 l, and Tamrom 17-50. The bag has two removable dividers which in the factory configuration allows two lenses and the camera to be stored vertically as long as they are't longer than about 8". Since the camera and 70-200 are 10", I store it horizontally with the 17-50 zoom also stored horizontally underneath the lens part 70-200 camera combination using one of the dividers as padding. I just recently purchased the canon ef 1.4x extender and when it is mounted to the 70-200 camera combo it still fits in the bag. There is another pouch that has room for filters, charger, batteries and the 1.4x entender when stored separately. The top cover has room for 2 memory chips. The bag is very well designed, padded and contructed. The separate rain cover is stashed behind the front pouch and the straps for a tripod or monopod are underneath. The extra carry strap, which I haven't used I store behind the padding for your back. There are two water bottle netted pouches one on each side which could carry something other than water bottles but they are unpadded. I find it very comfortable to wear and it adjusts nicely. I wear it as a fanny pack but just slide it around in front when I want to access anything using it as a work table. The cover has dual zippers for quick entry. Even though I haven't had it long I am very happy with it. When I bought it I thought the descriptions were vague but went with Lowepro's good reputation and hoped it would work and it did. I ride a motorcycle and it works well to carry my gear. I highly recommend it for the gear it is designed to hold. Well designed and consrtucted product.
