Solid construction

This product is used to transport a Nikon 400mm F2.8 lens with a TC 14e and Nikon D3 attached. During hikes, events, and general photography outings the case holds the equipment securely, and the straps and hip support distribute weight effectively. I have not had the bag long enough to verify durability. One design flaw is that insertion and lens removal is bit awkward because the flap opens only 2/3rds of the way down and I would have liked the shoulder straps broadened and padded more. During all day hikes the shoulder straps do cut into the shoulders a bit. Compared to other similar products this bag was the best combination of functionality, price, and quality.

Fits 600mm, 2X and camera

I use this to carry and store my Nikon 600mm f/4 lens with a 2x teleconverter and camera body. For this combination it is a perfect fit.

Functional and well made

This product is perfect for a super telepoto lens with or without a camera body and/or a teleconverter attached. Front accessability allows for proper (safer) removal of the lens/body which some other carriers do not have. It holds a pro body, teleconverter, and 600mm lens with no problem, just making it with a TC-20eIII attached. It works well when shooting in a dusty or windy environment and you want to avoid attaching a camera body under such conditions. It is extremely well padded for transport. I also have a Gura Gear backpack which fits my 600mm lens. It is lighter and comfortable to use and works well on longer treks. The Gura Gear doesn't allow room for the camera body attachment or have the same degree of padding as the Lowepro. Different products for different uses. Im my case I need both for different situations. Your milage may vary, but you can't go wrong with the Lowepro. If I had to only have one, it would be the Lowepro.

Protect, carry your $$$$ supertelephoto

I shoot wildlife in the very dusty and usually windy Nevada high desert, so I need protection. I want to keep the camera attached to the supertelephoto lens while in the field, and this has the room. I also need to be able to get the equipment out quickly and shoot at any moment.

One large backpack but worth the price

Purchased this very large bag/backpack for an older Canon EF 400mm f/2.8L with AquaTech after market lens hood. It works, however, the fit is tight (top to bottom). Otherwise, the bag seems just about perfect. It does not have compartments for storage of any other lenses or large gear. I am able to couple other small lens bags or tripod/monopods to the sides.
