It is a very heavy duty, sturdy camera pack. Lots of straps and great shoulder straps. It could use a bit more access especially to the lower section and I wish the velcro parts were a bit more versatile and would attach the whole way up and down. As it is my canon with a 600 lens did not work with the long lens insert but there was enough room for another camera and some filters, although, like I mentioned earlier, The zipper does not go down all the way and you can't use velcro at the bottom the lens and camera get trapped in that lower section until you pull off the compartment separator; not ideal if you are trying to be quiet. Overall I am happy with the purchase.

This lens case is of high quality with plenty of storage for a 600mm lens and small accessories. The material is rugged construction and quality padding for the protection of the lens. Nice padded shoulder carrying straps with waist strap as well.

Works great and will stow in an overhead bin on airlines. My backpack fits under the seat in front of me, so can take all my photo gear!

It’s a bag designed for carrying a big lens, comfortably. It does that well, but that’s pretty much all you can carry with it. But it works and the suspension is well designed. I find it to be a comfortable backpack.

Holds Canon 600mm f4 and 1DX Mark ll body securely. Waist belt does a good job distributing the weight.

This bag accommodates my 400 f/2.8 with body attached, however certain features are not well thought out, such as a tripod support cup too small to accommodate the feet of a tripod, so I will have to come up with a different arrangement for tripod support. I will use it, but sell it shortly thereafter and look for something better.

I use this bag to pack my Nikkor 400mm F2.8 FL and a D850 mounted on it. The bag allows me to lug them out with the camera mounted and hitches a monopod or tripod as well, carrying them as a backpack. I took the hip belt off for the short trips that I am currently making but would put it back on for longer hikes. It is a good pack and I would recommend it.

Pack is very small. I couldn’t get the pack straps over my shoulders. The camera with the lens it says fits barely fits. Nikon D5 and 600 F 4 very has to me moved around to barely fit.

A well made, like other Lowepro bags, solution for transporting many ungainly items into the wild. You don't want that lens swinging into a tree. The size of the bag is intimidating but so is the size of the lens and camera it is protecting. The weight is well distributed though it might need some adjustment work for the short waited, which is part of the design.

I was very impressed with this product the moment I took it out of the box. It's very well made with the seems precisely stitched and heavy duty zippers. Back pack shoulder straps and it's adjustability are as advertised and comfortable. I tried out the tripod holder as well as packing the pack going all in accepting this pack as the one. I'm going to use this pack for short 2-5 mile hikes in, at times, steep river canyons here in the pacific NW. It's perfect until i discover there's no room for food, water, another camera body, or even a 24-105 lens. The pocket shown in the photos is disappointing in how little it holds. i tried to put in: 2 1dx batteries, 2 CF cards, lens cloth, cleaner....., FULL could barely zip it shut. Accessories are limited for this pack. This is not just a LowePro problem. This pack is similar to 4 other brands if you look as much as I did. One brand has established accessories available for those extra items like a lens or a separate camera body. This pack does as well... kinda. At least it has places to tie off items. So for me it was returned. I would have lived with not having an extra camera body but to do without an extra lens or two, the basic storage or a place for food and water is the reason for my decision. so if your just going from the car it's perfect. If you're going in, it might be an F-$top type product your after. That way the bag can be reconfigured with different internal compartments. Will see, I'll need to save$$, until then i'll lug it the old fashion way. in it's case and everything else in the Lowepro sport backpack.

I bought this case to hopefully hold my Canon 800mm f5.6 with a body attached. It is advertised that it will hold a 500 or 600 lens. My 800 with hood attached was just too big, THEN I thought what about reversing the giant lens hood and POOF it does fit with a 1DX Mark II or 7d Mark II combinations. BUT it does hold it. Having many cases from Lowepro and belt combos also helps. I can attach some other gear the the side of the case. Nice to have a case to hold this great lens and body combination.

Perfect bag for my Canon 200-400/1.4 lens and 5DIV combination. Very high level of protection for the gear with the body/lens junction suspended in padded collar and with the lens hood installed in shooting position and resting on padded base of the bag. Can't do this as well with any other bag I know of. Highly recommended. Price is good too.

The Pentax 6x7 medium format film system is what I use. The lenses are much cheaper to buy than digital ones. I like super telephoto lenses in primes. My lens is 17 inches long, the f5.6 500mm lens. It fits into the bag when on the camera. There is room just above it for the Wimberly head in the bag. I don't like to carry it outside sticking up in the air. The much heavier and wider 600mm f4 lens also fits in the bag. That one goes in lens side down and the camera is on top attached to the lens. That lens weighs 16 lbs. There is more room above that configuration as it is a shorter lens. I can carry either setup comfortably.

This pack is very very comfortable to carry big glass. I have a Nikon 800mm f/5.6E AF-S FL ED VR Lens. It’s attached to my D3 with 3” to spare in space from the top. I can attach the Teleconverter as well, but if I have it on, then there is very little room to spare at the top. Anyone out there saying the 800mm can’t be attached to camera is wrong. The ActivLift harness is a must and brilliant idea, especially if you share a pack with someone that has a different torso size than you. Make sure you have the lower harness right at your natural waist just above the hips or you will have back pain. Make it snug but not overly tight. Same for the upper harness. Cinch down upper and lower straps. The pack should not be sliding around or again it will make you ache. I am a 5’9” female with a short torso so the ActivLift harness plate is all the way down in the pack. Go to LowePro’s site to view exactly how to work the harness. The large zipper pulls are great if you have gloves on. There is a side mesh pocket for odds and ends and a front zippered pocket with key harness, phone, inner zipper pocket, & other small items. The pack is pretty sturdy when placed on the ground. Just inside on the main compartment flap are 2 quick access flash card pouches and a water resistant zipper pouch. In the bottom there is a removable 4”x1” foam the runs along the side walls of the pack for extra protection. Both sides have MOLLE strips for additional gear if need be. The rain cover works pretty good and doesn’t take up lots of room either. I only had a few drizzles though. I’m a happy camper.

You need this backpack if you own big glass, it seems like Lowepro must have asked ....So what would you like in a backpack for biggest lens ? They nailed it. Its designed very nicely, well made, well thought out and comfortable to tote whether on your back or in your hand. It made my life much more simple in that now instead of taking the camera off the lens (yes camera off the lens, not the other way round) putting the lens in the trunk, putting the lens in a separate bag i just put the whole rig in the backpack and i am done. Perhaps the most important thing about that is that by not taking the rig apart there is risk of getting dirt or debris in the camera or lens. You need this backpack !

The Lowepro Lens Trekker 600 AW III is a newly designed bag from a long series of excellently made long lens bags from Lowepro. The Trekker 600 is a huge, well designed backpack style bag, designed for the biggest of big lenses. The modular design can handle the huge Canon 800 mm lens, with lens hood tucked backwards on the lens, or the 600 mm lens with the attached DSLR, or in the configuration I use, the Canon 500 mm with full hood or with DSLR body attached. When I purchased this bag, I expected a large bag, but was surprised at the massive size of this thing. At 26” tall it’s as long as my whole back; I’m 6’ 2” and it’s still huge on my back. The massive insides are of a modular design, made to handle super telephoto lens or a telephoto lens with a handy shelf that allows you to carry flat things like manual filters or maybe a teleconverter. Lowepro hasn’t missed a beat with this bag, it pretty much has everything but a secure way to lock your lens in the bag. More on that later. Again this is a backpack style bag so it comes with huge adjustable shoulder straps that allow you to adjust it to fit your height or weight, but moving harness up or down to find the center of balance. Very cool idea, works very well for a tall person like me. It comes with a hip and chest harness so the bag should be able to carry a load and still feel comfortable. I will admit, I haven’t taken it on a walk yet, so this is just an observation. For the protection of that crazy expensive lens, the Trekker 600 comes with a lot of padding inside, including a “neck” harness that goes around the narrow neck of the lens for better support. There is also plenty of padding at the bottom of the bag, so it should be able to handle a dragging around without hurting your lens. As if the Trekker 600 didn’t have enough features, it also comes with a rain jacket that pulls up and over the top of the bag during a rain storm. This is a very handy thing, and I wish I’d see this feature on more “wildlife “ bags. There is also a small zip bag on the hip harness that allow you to store small things like change in it, a very cool feature. The bag doesn’t come without a few issues, but they are minor and easily overlooked. The first thing I noticed out of the box is the inappropriately small carry handle on the top. It seems so small compared to the rest of the straps on the bag. Considering that this bag will carry very heavy and very expensive gear, I would have thought the handle on this large bag would have been beefier than that. No big deal, just seems kinda odd. Another con is the massive size. I mean this bag has a huge volume inside. So make sure you know what you’re getting because this isn’t a bag for really small people. Like I said earlier, once again, there is no way to secure your lens inside the case. There isn’t any lock mechanisms to protect your gear. I wish it came with a metal loop so I could maybe add a lock to it. Again not a huge deal, just wish more bags came with a way to lock the internal compartment. Last thing, but to me the only real issue I had with this bag; unless I’ve misplaced it, I found zero documentation for this bag. I looked everywhere. All it had on the front was a small card explaining some of the major features, but a ton of other things seem to be missing. For example, it shows that you can expand the harness, but really doesn’t show you the correct way to do so. I finally found that info on YouTube. An expensive bag like this, I would have thought it would have better documentation for those that never used a bag like this. These are all very small cons, so don’t read too much into these, I just feel like everything can have improvements. This is an excellently designed, very durable bag, by a company that never fails to produce excellent gear. I love this bag, and the four other Lowepro bags I have.
