The main compartment works well for small and medium DSLR's, like the Canon Rebels and up to the 50d, 5d, and equivalent. The side compartments are too small to be useful. You can just barely get a EF-S 18-55 kit lens in, but it is a struggle to get it out. Won't hold an external flash unless left unzipped.

Lowepro bags area excellently designed and constructed, (though, given the number of exterior loops, one wonders what they expect you to use them for). The Outback 100's problem is the size. The side pockets don't hold a full-sized flash or a 67mm lens (it just barely squeezes in). They would hold smaller lenses or soda cans quite nicely. The main pocket fits my D90 (with no expanded battery pack) but probably wouldn't fit any larger camera body. A velcro-attached panel holds the camera at the top of its compartment when you use smaller lenses, forming a "lower compartment." However, there's no external access to that "lower compartment." I really have a hard time imagining whose gear would fit in this bag.

The pouch will fit the T2i with a 17-55 lens. Perfect for hiking. Nice wide waist strap. Lens cases are worthless, too small for the 70-200 f/4 or even the efs 10-22. They will hold bottles of water nicely, however.

The bag is more comfortable than the Off-Trail 1 and 2 which I also owned. I use the holster bags on my right side for easy access and it does not hinder me when I walk; I can swing the bag in front or behind to sit down or in crowded area. The side pockets are not interchangable with the older version and they are too short if you want to carry a flash with you. They are barely wide enough to fit my 17-35 f3.5-4.5 lens. The main compartment will fit a medium to small SLR. There are NO extra pocket for filters or battery. There are couple of tiny pockets for your extra memory cards. I do use one old slip pocket #2 over the belt for my flash and use one of the side pocket for my filters and other accessories.
