Questions & Answers

COLLEEN T : Will this bag hold my Nikon D800, 70-200 2.8 lens,AND the attached extra battery housing?HELMUT R : Hello Thomas, Yes, it will.MIKE H : I have a Canon 7D, and it will handle that camera with a 70-200 F2.8 lens and a motor drive, but it is tight with the motor drive. The extra height makes it close to not being able to close the zipper. If you always have a motor drive on, maybe a little thicker bag would be better. For occasional use like me, it is a great bag.THOMAS R : I'm not familiar with the dimensions of the Nikon gear, but I have no problem fitting the following Canon items in the bag: EOS 60D camera with an attached EFS 17-55mm f2.8 lens, speedlight 430EX strobe, an EF 70-200mm f2.8 telephoto, an EFS 10-22mm f3.5 lens, and assorted lens hoods, filters, chargers, etc. The bag is more than long enough to hold the EOS 60D camera with the EF 70-200mm f2.8 IS II telephoto attached. All the interior dividers attach inside the backpack with velcro, so you can customize the layout of the compartments in any way you want. I'm not sure if the attached Nikon extra battery adds to the camera's height, but the depth of the inside of the bag is 5".KYLE H : It should with plenty of extra room to spare both in length for the lens and depth for the attached battery grip.
Shopper : Is it possible to fit a 13" macbook in the front flap section of the Lowepro Pro Runner 300?MARISA V : I believe so! I have a 15in MBP and it just barely doesn't fit so a 13in should but I'm not sure if it would with a case (you would want to protect it in there).JOHN E : It may be possible, but it would be a pretty tight squeeze, especially for a pro versus an air. Also, the front flap is not really designed for a laptop, so I don't feel it would be protected very well.ROBERT S : Do not knowKYLE H : It will fit. But... there is not a lot of padding between the pocket and the exterior of the bag. I would put the mac in a padded sleeve if you are going to be in a jolting environment.
TANI M : Is there a place for a tripod?JOHN E : Hello - There is not a place for a tripod. Since I usually don't carry a tripod, this has not been an issue for me. I also have a LowePro Mini Trekker AW. It does have a place for a tripod. The backpack itself holds a little bit less than the 300, but it is enough for my Pentax 645, flash, and a couple of lenses. I hope this helps.Phillip F : Yes, there is an exterior hide-away tripod holder with compression straps.MICHAEL L : Yes you can attach a tripod to the outside of the backback very easily.

Best Upgrade Decision

I love this backpack. It holds all my gear: Canon 60D, 24-105mm L lens, 100mm Macro L lens, Tameron Telephoto lens, 430 speedlight, external HD, and cables. There is still room for more! It fits just like a backpack. Very comfortable. The only con I have is one of the zipper flaps. Yes it is there to protect from moister and dust. But when you unzip that pocket, it tends to caught or stop more so. You have to hold the flap back. It does not cause damage and this is more of an annoyance than anything else.

Good bag for the buck

I am able to get all the equipment I want into this bag. Fits comfortably, distributiong the weight evenly. My pro camera nestles nicely with a 70-200 attached. The only issue here is the large camera (1Ds) with an L bracket needs a little more room. Inserts are easily moveable. Space for several lenses, filters, etc. Could use a weather resistant back so when placed on the ground, the bag material is protected from mnoisture and mud. This ia the side that rests against your back when carried. Would also love a bag with less tare weight.

Perfect Day Pack!!

I purchased this backpack to replace a Lowepro Slingshot which caused me shoulder pain after a 4 hour hike into Zion National Park. I just couldn't use the one shoulder strap arrangement. The Pro Runner has more storage volume for camera gear but less for incidentals than the Slingshot had. I store a D600, a 28-70mm, a 50mm, and a 80-400mm telephoto along with a flash, charger, and cables. I particularly like that I can have either the long telephoto or the mid tele attached to the camera and the bag still works fine. This pack is perfect for a day hike to subjects. It's not waterproof and there's no room for extra gear like a windbreaker. If you need that then you need a different pack. It's light and the shoulder straps support the load well even though there is no waist belt.

Great Camera Backpack

I bought this bag to carry my gear to the Galalapos Islands. Very comfortable to carry thru the airport and very sturdy construction. Like the description says, my d800 and 70-200 fit just fine with room on either side for extra gear. The rain bonnet came in handy when it spinkled and kept the sand out of the bag when at the beach.

Comfortable, Light, Well Made Bag.

Currently, I have a Nikon D5100 and 3 lenses in the bag. There is room for about 3 more lenses and a flash gun. I have a Manfrotto 55X/ball head tripod which doesn't fit well into the tripod pouch. I compared this bag to Think Tank's StreetRunner and found this bag to be much lighter and more comfortable on my back. The bag size is good when you need to carry a lot of gear but I will be using my kit bag when just carrying one or two lenses. Adorama had this bag on [@] for [$] and they gave me the same price through the store plus free shipping. Very nice deal.

Just perfect

I can fit all my gear such as a Canon 70-200 2.8L attached to a Canon 40D, Sigma 28-300, Canon 50m, Canon 18-55 and a Canon HD video camera, plus a Canon 480ex and a Sekonic l358. That is just too roomy and the price it it's just right. The staff at Adorama are very knowlegdeable and patient.

This is the one!!!

I took this on a two week trip out west. I used it every day and it protected my camera and lens. At the end of the trip it still looked like new! There was even enough room to put snacks, water and a light jacket. This is an excellent product, well put together and sturdy made. I am tall and it was very comfortable for all day wear.
