Great bag for transporting gear to and from the location. But it holds too much to be lightweight! If you're like me, when you buy a bag you HAVE to fill every pocket, and that makes this HEAVY. Not sure about the laptop size, an iPad in a case is a pretty tight squeeze. The top opening zipper compartment is blocked by the carry strap, just a minor annoyance.
