This is a wonderful and simple item for pop up flashes. The photos have a softness to them now and not hard flash edges.

I carry one of these in my camera bag all the time, since it takes no space. It's not like having professional lighting, but it does reduce the harshness, so helps. It's an inexpensive and useful little tool.

This item really softens the light from the pop up flash. A lot of flash photos are much better with this easy to install device. I even hold it over the hot shoe flash at times. It's a lot easier than than hauling out the diffusers that you have to add on to the flash. This is a great pickup

when I get lazy and dont want topn use the hot shoe flash, this little diffuser softens the harsh flash you get from mthe pop up flash, making my photos more appealing. I'm not good with flash and usually try tom avoid flashn photos, but this item makes me try more.

Directions require trimming the hot shoe insert for Canon DSLR's. 1 side for "EOS" or 1 side for "Rebel." I have an EOS/Rebel. Which side would you trim and how much? Of course, I did the wrong side and it now won't stay in hot shoe. A waste of $.

I found the flash on my Rebel to be harsh during night photography and it washes out the subject (especially little red spider). I was using piece of white printer paper, but it was hard to hold in place. I love this little diffuser. I am sure there are additional flashes and assessories that would be more professional, but I am not to that level yet (experience or financial). I have found it also works well indoors. For the price, this difusser is great and does exactly what I needed!

Make your "ugly-maker" pop-up flash, not so ugly. It is amazing how much better your subjects look using this simple little device. Obiviously not as good as a bounce strobe, but much better if you do not have a bounce with you.

It's basically as advertised - cheap, lightweight; but stiff at first, and not necessarily the most practical to put on every time.

Turned my 10D into a little point and shoot using this diffuser. Now we just leave the camera laying around the house and the lumiquest does a nice job of diffusing the built-in flash. Much easier to manage than DIY jobs and reasonably priced...worth the $$.

I needed something to tone down the flash at those "in between" times, and this does the trick.

It definitely takes the sharp edges off of the shadows. I have to shape it a little to make it work just right, but after the first time, it keeps its shape so I don't have to continuously worry about it.

I use the Soft Screen on a Nikon D200. It won't get you professional results but it does diffuse the harsh light from the built-in strobe. It's worth taking a few seconds to put it on by sticking it in the hot shoe and folding over the flash and around the name plate. I usually bump the output up a little. I feel it would work even better if it retained that curved shape. It tends to stay flat against the strobe.

Hoped to use it for close-ups but found it only reduced the light output.

The Lumiquest soft screen is very easy to use and I love it! It diffuses the flash just enough to cut down on the "glarey" look. I did have to cut the piece that goes into the camera slot just a wee bit to make it fit. It is easy to handle and ver user-friendly.

The diffuser makes my photos much more evenly exposed. It also gives my portraits a softer look.

Seconds out of the bag it was on my Nikon. Used it at a family party that day...produced very soft light.

Bought this to see the difference with pop-up flash, quality of photo was amazing. Very easy to install on Cannon 400D, Instructions were great to describe simple alteration to Soft Screen for Cannon hot shoe. Good way to start before investing in a dedicated flash, they can be quite pricey.

I've tried this pocket-size diffuser on a couple digital cameras (Canon 10D & 30D) and it didn't seem to make much, if any difference in the flash lighting -- the effect was still harsh and overall unpleasant.
