Right out of the box, this system is quite easy to setup! Everything is included in this package - 8 Bullet Cameras with NVR, Control Base Recording Unit - 2TB w/power supply, remote, HDMI cable, 6ft Ethernet Cable, 8 - 100ft Ethernet Cables, Screw mounts for each camera, & Quick Installation Setup Guides in various languages. Mounting the cameras are pretty easy but make sure to plan out where you want to place them since its coverage is important when setting this system up. Running the 100ft Ethernet cable is pretty easy going. The cables are unshielded so if you require to have the cable shielded you can make your own cables. Since no power is required directly on the camera, it receives its Power Over Ethernet Cable (PoE). Keep in mind, that if your runs go beyond the standard 100ft cable provided, you can make your own cables to meet your requirements, but remember NOT to exceed the 300ft cable range since that is the maximum for powering up the cameras. If your require to go further consider a power extender or add a power supply to the camera unit. Planning the runs of the cables is crucial if you want to make it work so plan accordingly. Where the base station will reside matters for all the cable runs made. Once you have it all together plug all your ethernet cable runs to the unit. Make sure you update the system after you make and change your user password for the system. After that, your all ready to continue to make the adjustments and view all the cameras. Best to place a UPS battery backup on this to keep it running just in case of a power outage. The part that's hard to come by after setup is the inner settings. From that point on you'll have to search for how to setup your system to how you like it, because there isn't a booklet that explains in detail to how to manage and configure your system. Searching on the Lorex site help a bit with some YouTube vids. Wish they made it easier to find this info. You can download the specs/instruction/manual from the Lorex site but still quite a hassle having to find it. Would have given it a full 5 star but this was one that was unacceptable for having to setup this system without a proper manual. All in all, it's still a good system. The app to view it on your tablet or phone is the Lorex Cirrus app available for Android & iOS. After the you download the app you can add your device in by either typing the Device ID or scanning the QC Code on the base unit on the top left corner of the base station. Have your password handy to be able to access and all should connect if you set it up right.

Everything went smoothly - item arrived early and was exactly as ordered. Cameras work great and got this system to replace an aging Lorex system that I removed and installed at daughters house. My only complaint is the NVR is a little noisy, but that doesn’t really bother me.

System is capable of recording 4K but ships with 2K cameras. Website shows the 4K camera's but you can't purchase them. I found that you can't even find the 2K cameras anymore for purchase. They are either out of stock or discontinued. That was the only disappointment I had with the system. I found a 4K compatible camera on Amazon and it works nice. I should have researched this purchase a little more. I would have went with a system that actually still has replacement cameras. I'm not sure what happens in time if a camera goes bad, you can't buy replacement. It's a shame because the system is nice for the price, was easy to install and setup. I use the Lorex Cirrus app and can access system remotely. The app allows playback (it crashes at times though).

This system works great with great picture quality and great night vision. I had a problem with one of the cameras going bad and still trying to get it resolved thru the warranty. only problem i have is with customer support and warranty department that's the only reason i didn't give it a 5 stars.

I bought this Lorex NVR POE 8 camera 5MP 2K system when saw it on sale at SamsClub. It is replacing a Samsung 1080p 8 camera coax system that had problems continually. This Lorex system has worked flawlessly except for the issue I had when the system was first installed. I could not see all of the live cameras from the Windows 10 webb app. Seems Lorex instructions took me to the Lorex ver. 12 app and it had not been updated with the newest version. I called Tech Supoort and regardless of some of the negative reviews I found them to be really very helpful in getting my problem resolved quickly. They got me the most recent Ver 13 and installed it on my system and that fixed all the problems. I like the night vision color as I have a street light and also walk path lights that provide enough light to leave the camera color on in front of the property day and night. Also, the field of view is so much better than the Samsung 1080p system. I get to see a lot more of our front door and the walkway leading up to it than with the old system and the definition of the 5MP cameras is so much better than the 1080p cameras. I am well satisfied with this Lorex 5MP NVR POE system and would highly recommend this system to others looking for a similar system. Also, I might mention that the Android Mobile app has been working well for me also. The only negative I find which is not so much of a problem for me due to my placement of the recorder is the noise level of the fan. It could be an issue for some depending where you place it. It's not bad but you do notice it in quiet environments. Overall, I am very happy with this new system.

The color night vision and IR night vision are both top notch. The system is easy to setup and use. Would have given five stars, but two cameras went dead within the first two weeks of installing the system. Customer service is in the process of replacing the cameras, but had to spend a significant amount of time troubleshooting the problem, which should not happen with new systems. Will be happy to upgrade to five stars if the replacement process goes as smooth as advertised.

This is my first video camera security system. It seems to be working well. I get notifications on the cell phone whenever something is detected in the "vision" of the cameras,

Leave nothing to the imagination with this professional grade security camera system from Lorex. It features our top-of-the-line LNK7000 Series network video recorder (NVR) and eight 2K (5MP) LKB353A IP bullet security cameras with revolutionary color night vision capabilities.
2K Super HD resolution
These Lorex cameras contain a 5MP (megapixel) image sensor that it is capable of recording a 2K pixel resolution of 2592 x 1944 at 15 frames-per-second (FPS). This resolution will deliver extremely detailed images and allow for greater digital zooms so you can see further into the distance.
Expand your security coverage with listen-in audio
A built-in microphone within your security cameras allows for listen-in audio recording. Audio monitoring can provide you with additional information (such as voices), which could prove to be invaluable should an intrusion or event occur on your property. Audio can also help you interpret events, even if the action takes place away from the camera's field of view.
Long range color night vision
Trust this security camera to protect your property, even during the darkest hours of the night. Not only will it allow you to clearly see up to 130ft / 40m away with the help of ambient lighting (or up to 90ft / 27m away in total darkness), it will take your night vision security coverage one step further with our Color Night Vision (CNV) technology. This feature provides full-color video in low-light conditions that will add an extra level of visual detail that can help identify people or objects. It is important to note that CNV requires ambient light - the camera will typically switch to black and white infrared night vision if the area is too dark.
HEVC / H.265 compression
Your cameras use industry leading H.265 (High Efficiency Video Compression, H.265 or MPEG-H Part 2) compression, which will help reduce video sizes and save valuable hard drive space. HEVC encoding helps compress 4K video files without losing the 4K video quality.
Power-over-Ethernet installation
Thanks to Power-over-Ethernet technology, this professional grade security system does not require a professional technician for installation. Simply run a single Ethernet cable between the NVR and each IP camera. This cable provides both power and video transmission up to 300ft / 91m.
Stay connected with Lorex Secure
Connect this security camera system to Lorex Secure, our innovative app designed for most smartphones and tablets. Simply scan the unique QR code on your NVR to start viewing your entire system from wherever life takes you. Features such as easy-to-read event history timelines, RapidRecap videos, privacy mode and custom mobile notifications for motion events will let you monitor your property easier and smarter.
Lorex web client available
Lorex Client 13 gives you access to your security system and its settings over the Internet using a PC or Mac computer. With this software, you will be able to view live and recorded video, as well as save manual recordings and snapshots to your computer's hard drive.

This allows you to place them where you need them most - indoors or outdoors.
