Purchased this camera one year ago and it has been working great outside. Just a few times it may go offline, but I usually just unplug it and turn it back on and it works great!

This camera running very hot since I install at June, 2024. The camera stop working every other week. I have to cycle the power to it every week. I called technical support so many times and they told me the same thing as"to remove it from the system and reinstall it again". But it did not fixed the problem. I hope they can take it back fixed the problem.

I don't recomand it.

Cameras were great in the beginning but most times you can't view in on the app. Every time it says something went wrong! Will be looking for different cameras to replace Lorex

Its a great little camera. It would be nice if they made them to access laptops instead of phones. My phone doesn't have a lot of memory, and to purchase the converter to access my laptop is another $200 which is unaffordable for me, I'm on Social Security.

Serious programming (firmware) issues with these cameras. 
Lorex pro here. I installed an 8 camera (smiley face) Fusion Wifi system with NVR for good clients. We have experienced 8 months of problems with the cameras dropping off of the NVR and not reconnecting. Testing the cameras off the NVR, the cameras still drop off the network and do not reconnect. I have updated the firmware on both the cameras and the NVR I have created network reservations and lowered network security to Wpa2. I only have this issue with the smiley face cameras, the old wifi cameras I install do not do this (Lorex programming is quirky but functional in older systems). I have spent hours on the phone with Lorex techs, and hours back and forth to the property troubleshooting. Lorex refuses to admit that this is a bad programming problem. With repeated firmware updates that do not work, it is time to hire competent programming staff. 8 months and counting.

Great value for money

So far the system is working great. I get notices when someone is in my barn or by my garage just as I want. I am not very tech so really have appreciated the support department as they walked me through some set up issues. The manual that comes with it could be more explicit for people like me.

This camera is very poor and unstable quality. I have to reset it every week for lost connection. It unable to see the object when environment is dark. Do not waste your time and money.

These cameras should not be on the market

Camera works great. . . . . when it works. I am constantly having to drag my ladder out to climb the 2 stories to hit the reset button on this thing because it stops working. Usually once every 2 weeks I have to do this for it to work again. All of my other cameras (4 other wireless Lorex) work flawlessly so it's something internal with this particular one that keeps malfunctioning and for the price it is unacceptable. It is not my network as others are further away and no issues. Firmware also up to date.

Lorex cameras used to be top of the line, but now they are no longer at the top. Lorex needs to update their systems with more features and capabilities. Because they haven't upgraded their functionality, a $20 to $50 camera has way more capabilities and their setup is much easier and faster than Lorex. I purchased Lorex because of their high quality name but like I said their systems and capabilities are outdated and cheaper systems do way more things for less. Also My customer service experience was not very good and problems I had couldn't be solved because the agents trying to help are not well trained or are not trained and they are just reading a script to you, the same one that you have access to. I would steer clear of this expensive name brand and purchase a less branded name which could have the same quality or better with many more functions to customize your system the way you want it.

Worked fine till a format upgrade around June 24. wireless connection got progressively worse. till Dec. I am not even able to connect to the hotspot much less connect my wi-fi router to the camera.

Tech help. Can't hardly understand them. Some of them don't know what they are doing. I had to figure out some of the problems myself. The setup instructions are not complete. The setup instructions for adding cameras on the vdr are not very good. I have decided to use another brand for my interior security system.

The camera has gone offline three times so far, and I had to reset each time. That is very frustrating. I do like the quality and features of the camera when it is online.

Lorex needs to do a major overhaul of instructional videos/written instructions. Took me a while to find the RIGHT directions, as everything else is outdated. Other than that, camera works good.

Bought a competitors much more expensive set up. ...felt like I got bait and switched as over a couple months feature after feature quit working? Finally got a notice on their App...I had to subscribe to a very over priced plan to keep those features. Did my research and found out Lorex does the same thing without an annual plan. Cameras work great. It would be even better if the Lorex Home app for Apple TV worked properly. I was disappointed to learn that the app is no longer supported, but overall I am happy with this product.

This 4K spotlight outdoor camera is a really great camera. especially the multiple choices you can choose, from flood light or not, different colors and which area you want the camera to record. the best part is you do not have to use cloud to save your data due to its SD card included in the kit. I'll recommend this camera to my colleagues.

Excellent camera

We purchased this 4K security camera to replace a 1080p Ring camera we've used for about 5 years, the video resolution being the key factor. I guess we were expecting the same ease, support and notification features as Ring so, somewhat disappointed with that. We haven't quite figured out how to have more than one device (phone and tablet) logged in at the same time. I'm sure there is a way but, not intuitive and can't seem to find guidance in the provided instructions or on line. There also seems to be limited notification options and volume control. For me, I always have my phone with me so, I stay logged in with that and chose a notification tone that works well but, my wife rarely has a phone or tablet close to her and relies on more unique and loader tones, such as the dog barking tone we had with the Ring camera. Again, there may be ways to choose this particular tone but, not obvious. The last complaint is about a quality issue. When the camera was installed and functioning, the application indicated there was no micro SD card installed but, I recall seeing the edge of the card in the slot before mounting the camera. I thought, maybe it's not fully inserted so, back on the ladder to check that, confirmed the card was fully inserted then removed the SD card. The issue was immediately clear, see the attached photo. Not sure what the corrosion was but, I was able to clean the contacts, reinsert and currently have proper operation. I'm concerned about the amount of corrosion that might be on the contacts in the camera and not accessible. How long before that causes an open connection and malfunction. If Ring had a 4K camera, I would have gone with that without hesitation.

Nice camera lacking in other areas

Exactly what I expected. I needed cams outside of my house but wanted simple plug in cams that use wifi. I like the light on the camera. It makes it obvious I have them to deter theft. I like the customization to be able to pick up people vs. animals that might walk through the yard. I also like that I can customize where movement is picked up so I'm not getting notified everything a dog walker passes on the sidewalk.
