The Lastolite backgrounds (I also have the larger 7 foot version) are made very well, very sturdy and should last for a very reasonable number of times before encountering any problems. The gray, "black" and white colors are very neutral and almost without variation from theoretical "true." If anything, there might be the very slightest blue tint in the white, but it is so small as to be without any negative consequences. Really, the only things I could criticize are more a positive function of necessity than error: 1) The large ones are a little tricky for one person to fold but are only that way because of the very sturdy nature of their metal frames. Keep in mind that they're pretty easy to fold once you get the hang of it (watch some videos on this point). 2) You can't remove the fabric from the frame in order to wash it, so spot cleaning is the only answer to staining. However, because they aren't removable, they stay more taught and show less folds and creases than backgrounds with removable fabric. Overall, I would highly recommend these Lastolite collapsible backgrounds.

Sturdy and effective

This works great for location head shots and bust portraits. Not suited for full body portraits. Don't put it in front of light sources light windows because the light will shine through. It's difficult to learn how to easily get it back in its case. It usually takes two people. The zipper on the case broke off after a year and a half of use but was easily fixed buy a local stitching shop. Not perfect for every scenario but works well for waist up portraits.

Good for waist up portraits

I was very high on using this.  It's very well made. However, the white side is not pure white. It looks like some of the black from the other side shows through.  It wouldn't be visible to the untrained eye, but I noticed it.  Also not sure why they call it Chromakey, as it's not blue or green!
